just try restarting the app if your game crashed and you don't know why, there's not a whole lot more any of us can do without an idea of what's happening to try avoiding it if possible

best thing to do is to see if you can reproduce it so you can submit a bug report, TGC might be able to fix it

If live is now acting up too then either something just fried itself in your device or beta is running in the background chewing up resources would be my guess. Try fully powering down your device for a minute or two and then restart it and see if live works again. As for beta it may just be a bug you encountered or a restart may fix it too. Just a suggestion that hopefully might help.

Harbin is was due to griefing (intentional or not) the boats were in the way of clicking the hand to give your wing lights to the statues. it was easier to say no boats in any ooze than to try and code it so the icons don't overlap

Hmm okay, never had that problem myself Kai. I'd imagine people probably got bouldered before they could place a boat in in the middle of storm but I'm sure a few would manage.
As a middle ground I suggest an idea that eden might have a small pond of water in storm tunnel just to fit in a few boats with words of encouragement right before stormlock which I think would be nice while also fixing the problem. Thoughts?

ooo encouragement boats, that sounds really nice cuz my first few times in eden I didn’t have much confidence in getting statues with low wings, so words of encouragement would be nice for newer players. Idk some ppl might have different opinions though, but I did appreciate the boats in eden. they never interfered with my eden runs

I like that idea. But a more fitting with eden's theme instead of clean water there, they could put a message shrine could still leave messages (that work the same as boats anyways) but no unexplainable clean water

they did add message shrines to the trials after all so it wouldn't be out of place in eden

I've also never had that problem before, though i usually don't go to Eden live or beta. But if people are causing problems, it would make sense to remove the privilege of placing boats in ooze. I also really like the encouragement pond idea, but I agree with Kai that there shouldn't be a random clean water pond there. But imo message candle shrines just aren't as shiny as the boats. My friend didn't even notice message shrines after seeing them once, but she noticed the boats and clicked on as many as she could find.

Hmm, I still have a thing for those little glowing boats over the message shrine, feels more personal somehow. Perhaps could be like a little mini cave area possibly with a mural resembling ark or a spell like ark had to purify its water? Maybe a shiny boy in there too? could be like the calm eye before the storm area. I still like the message shrine idea too just don't think it would have the same sort of pop.

The fire prophet thing is kinda wild, we've done a few things to "fix" it but nothing has stuck and we're not actually able to reproduce what's occurring on beta at all.
I found what I was looking for aaahhhh (also learned some neat things while I was looking. this is from Ktjn earlier today also:

@minor robin not only the statues though.. the lanterns to keep yourself safe and recharge yourself and your friends under the storm, they should also have an invisible barrier.
I encountered many a times tapped on a boat instead of lighting up the lantern..

We've also lived this long with Isle being the mostly ignored map.

Now Isle has gotten a makeover, and would probably be full of people pretty soon (because of the cave)

And now too, veterans don't have to go through glitches to go capeless and parkour over regular maps! Those glitches usually cause unwanted confusion in the system causing it to think the server is full when there's only 2-3 players inside the 8-door gate, which sucks.

Now we can all go capeless! (Okay well maybe not now, but starting next season in live. Yay!)

@late mountain this is definitely an issue when you haven’t completed ark, but merge in with people who have - you see candle wax floating in midair. I was never sure whether to consider that a bug or not though. I can’t light or see the candles myself if I haven’t completed the ark, but I do get a gift of wax.

It’s not quite always the issue about trolls and griefers, but there’s also many people who have different social/cultural standards who deeply value their space/privacy and consent. I believe the Japanese community in particular really valued their personal space and being followed/stalked by strangers was very freaky and uncomfortable for them. Everyone has different levels of acceptance and I really respect Sky and TGC for accommodating people.

For water trial at least I know there's checkpoints on the above high tide ice structures and the floating ice shelves. Pretty sure you automatically get the checkpoint just by following the path unless they changed it.

I feel like they made the water trial too easy with how tall the ice hills/lit checkpoints get now... it used to be just tall enough that you wouldn’t drown on some of them but now they’re mountains, so there’s no tension with getting to the next checkpoint cause you’re completely safe if you’re anywhere on the hill. Regarding candle packs being available in beta: I don't remember this being the case, but perhaps they were at some point before Live release for us to be able to play the game the way it was supposed to be eventually.

We are now familiar with how the trial works, and most of us have even memorized the map... besides, we have discord to assist us and beta players are generally more helpful and easy to add as friends.

And some of us in beta simply redo and redo the quests to test them, and besides, we hardly even do CR here...

Remember that most players in live will play it raw, and a lot of them won't have access to discord like we do.

Additionally, they won't be able to redo the quests as much as we do in beta because live players need to do their daily candle runs too.

Sky live players will not be able to spend as much time in the cave as we beta players do now.

I only played the water trial once and that was the night that the season started, and it was pretty darn challenging, but never to the point where it felt unfair. It felt rewarding to finally get to the next light and have it go up just in time for the water not to kill me. But now, going through it for the second time ever a day or two ago, i died maybe once, and that was because I got a notification and messed up my timing.

I play Sky because it's mostly relaxing and rewarding in a harmonious way. I play a lot of other games on console, but usually go for more story-driven stuff with some fighting involved. I never do parkour stuff.

17 candles a day is more than enough to prepare you for TS and unlock your constellation bit by bit

It's not at all mandatory to farm for more (once the new map arrives), so don't pressure yourself

Even if that's it then man this season is still huge, just take a look at the lore paintings and you'll start to see how much info there is, and that's not even starting on the four trials.

In beta we just got all the trails at once to help catch bugs early, so it felt small/fast in comparison. But man I was looking at the new additions to the cave today, and there’s been so many! You can rewatch/replay the cutscenes by jumping onto the little lights on the floating boulders, the cave paintings are more cohesive now/more detailed... etc.. art updates,to all the trials

If you look at the wind patterns, ie the lines on the screen, there should be a visible opening in them. But it’s difficult to pinpoint when you’re being yeeted from one of the candle platforms.

@placid wadi Its beta, that's why we test for it. The idea is it wont happen in live but if it ever does then TGC will compensate you. On beta though we're primarily here for testing so they will only compensate you if they have spare time.
