@sturdy breach I'm no statistical money purchase person. It makes sense in theory to have it cheap and then many more people buy it but like everything there needs to be a balance, too cheap and even if everyone buys it you don't make much, too expensive and you have such a small amount buying it that it wasn't worth making it.
I trust TGC to strive for the best outcome where they make the most money to develop and grow with this wonderful community they created while also maximising purchases of players who want the cosmetics and to help support TGC.

@late mountain see thats kinda the point, at the moment they seem to be ignoring the lower income player bracket. Their cheapest event IAP is 9.99, whereas most apps would have a lower tier at 4.99 to allow for another option for people who are a bit less well off. Obviously people are under no requirement to buy, the game is free to play technically, but even added in a lower price their could exponentially increase their profits and player satisfaction. I'm not saying reduce the cost of everything, but maybe 1 or 2 out of 5 available options in this event?

@tame dust It doesn't sound selfish, that was actually the price I was considering and left in feedback, $20USD per pack (and also make a pack deal for the witch hat and web cape).
With that said I also expect the bat cape and pumpkin hat to stay more or less the same due to the fact they were purchasable last year and (please correct me if I'm wrong but) I think the price has carried over for them both? I imagine they won't lower those so the players that purchased last year do not feel like they spent more than us this year for the same cosmetics. (but I could be wrong, I don't work for TGC)
As for the new cosmetics we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I jumped right in and took a look at that hat and web cape. They look really good! The price is.. up there, but it takes a lot of time developing cosmetics like that and especially, I noticed the web cape have a web that (seems to) only appear when hit by daylight. Otherwise it’s black, but I might have seen wrong.

As much as I too think that we should shave 5 bucks off the pack, i feel like we cant forget that this is a free game. For the fact that its free its doing really well in not having ridiculous prices. (I know somm games that want you to pay 50 bucks for a season pass where you hardly get anything). I do wish the IAP items were more accessible to everyone. But we also need to consider that tgc probably makes most of their money off of AP rather than people buying candle packs. Which is also why i wish that they would put more permanent items into the IAP shop. It would mean more money as they can be purchased at any time which in turn could drop the price for seasonal cosmetics like the halloween cosmetics we are getting. Again, its a free game, tgc needs to make money and so far their pricing has been pretty alright considering that most other games are absolutely terrible at it.

It all looks so good! I get the catch-up price costing more considering its limited items being brought back, but at the same time I agree about the price being quite high, but I also understand that.
Other items such as the life cape and the healing package were for charity events, so I can understand their price being high to help, and looking at the comparison these cosmetics each cost a little less (think about how each charity item was a single item also), the price makes sense.
I would like a cheaper price though, both for the fact that A) The next season pass just came out for preorder in live and B) like mentioned before, those who don't have as much money so they can have something.

I think the season pass is their Trump card, they know many people buy it, that's why it's more accessible. That's a really good thing to price their best selling item low so that many can afford.

I do however think that they should offer cosmetics-only IAP and not throw some candles into the equation. Truth is, some players really don’t need any more candles and to be honest, 5$ added to a pack of $25 for 20 candles is not worth it.

In the end of the day, because also hey its a free game, i dont expect to be able to get everything all the time. thats simply unrealistic unless you have a lot of money on hand. So I will just get what I really really want.
I can live with the price. What I do wish they would change desperately is that they separate the hair from the hat. The hair is too good to pass up and the witch hat would look extremely cute with other hairs. It might also make ppl want to buy it more considering that ik not everyone is into the hair and being able to match the witch hat with your fav hair seems like a better incentive to buy it.

I think lately the game has focused so much on IAP. It’s all about spending real money nowadays. It would be nice to have at least something which costs a heart instead (like the anniversary hat). It’s so much nicer to enjoy cosmetics with friends.

Personally i think its a little bit much to expect people to spend 55 bucks right before another season hits. Considering christmas will likely have cosmetics too, in 2 months we will "have" to drop money again.
I think the price for the new cosmetics is pretty ok. But the catch up pack should definitely drop. Lower price means more people buying, means more money in the end.

Lantern was a different case. Its a unique item and the first of its kind to provide strong lighting from a back cosmetic slot. The reason its price stayed was due to its complex coding setbacks.
These items are (hopefully) much more simple to code in given its only new skins of well used functions in sky (hair change and cape change) so their pricing is also hopefully much more up for feedback.

I’m going to jump in and say, regarding the pumpkin hat and bat cape pack (and stand-alone cosmetics), they have the same price as last year. To me, that seems like something TGC would stand their ground on, I don’t think they want to devalue the players that bought it for that price last year.
And if they want to lower those packs prices, they’d probably, or at least I would think, that the new items would have a sorta discount if you bought the bat and pumpkin last year.
These IAP’s are by no stretch cheap though, but keep in mind the players that was around last year to get them

You have to keep in mind that a season pass is their main income! So they want that accessible to most players. Either via a friend or out of your own pocket. Holiday IAP’s or event IAP’s are quite different from a season pass. So it’s kind of unfair to compare the two in that sense

Sky is not a mobile game where people just come in, do daily, get candles, get some super weapons and sign off. People r emotionally indulged in this game because it has soul n beauty.

Lower the prices for this and that!" Very few gaming companies listen so much to their players as much as TGC does. Sky is always about diversity and having no one left out. So the other companies which people compete to be the best are not a good example of comparison to Sky. The current IAP conditions are the only things that feel off with the whole game, they can make it cheaper and sell to more instead of making it higher and sell to some even though the profit can be similar.

Candles r the least worth getting bonus for spending for most players. Candle packs are always a niche for game spenders. I don know why they don realise most people will not be impressed by putting candles (and its not many) in a pricey pack.

@teal helm The lanterns prices were due to the complex nature of coding it. Once again, it wasn't an item you need to buy, it was an event item there for people who want it. There are spells you can buy for it

ok so, here's the thing with hats like the witch hat (eg. light seeker sun hats) They're big, which means in order for those hats to go on hairs without GROSSLY clipping on multiple hairs you'd have to design it with that in mind. A party hat is easier to make work with every hair compared to a sun hat. Look at Valley spikey hair try putting a sun hat on that hahaha

I feel like the pricing is very subjective. What you might be able to afford is something someone else might not be able to afford at all. In the end of the day you cant do right by everyone. There is no point in arguing about the prices. The best thing we can do is let tgc know if we are unhappy with the prices. whether they change it is entirely up to them.

It was to check to see if the "difficulty balancing" was felt to other players or if they just made minor adjustments to "art updates" as the patch notes clunped it all in one line meaning difficulty could have not been touched.
It's also good to discuss with others to get a better idea than leave feedback and not get anything back than vague patch notes.

I believe the possibility of temporary spells for older ultimate rewards is being considered, since we got to try out the pins spells and there are now spells for the IAPs.

in terms of ultimates this is what i believe: The ultimate items are essentially the physical manifestation of the entire season wrapped up into one cosmetic item. If you weren’t there to experience the season you shouldn’t be able to get the ultimate item. Rather a variant of it instead. Allow the ultimates to return but in different colour variations. A deer mask with silver antlers instead of gold. A blue flamed campfire instead of yellow. Just subtle differences that allow new players to enjoy old items but for veteran players to enjoy the authenticity of theirs

There will always be players who were left out. Now we wait for the players who joined after the switch release to say they want the seasons to return. If they’ll bring them back as an iap they should be more expensive than the current adventure pass imo. Considering old players had to play during the season.

Not an Android person and hardly a veteran (I only have one ultimate gift), but returning ultimates is a BIG discredit to the money people paid with the AP...and that's already been a big worry/decision for TGC with travelling spirits. At the end of the day...AP ultimates account for a small amount of items that should probably remain exclusive...at least in my opinion.

Personally, I dont think the ultimate gifts should be sth easy to obtain even if you have to pay money for it. I dont know how they would make it happen but it should be associated with a challenge or a limited time so not everyone who has a little money.

It’s probably going to be a long while before they actually decide what to do with the ultimates because it causes so much discourse. I think limited spells to purchase would be perfect because it still gives people who played the season all the way through that sense of accomplishment with that item and gives people a chance to wear the item around with friends for a certain time period. I would be completely fine if they made the ultimates into STAR Pins as well!

Plus, TGC feels like they owe a lot to veterans for supporting them. And we have to respect (albeit criticise of course) where TGC puts its value - its a balance between the new and the old. Lack of ultimates is a massive discredit to veterans because it takes away all distinction from old and new players, and that's something TGC and the community has to think about.

Though my concern with it is that it would take a looooong time for new players, years even with the amount of TS we will have.

I think that's a really good idea. I'm an android player, but honestly, if I were a veteran, I'd think it wasn't fair if people could just purchase the items later. Even if it'd take a long time to collect from all the season's ts, it's better than not having the option at all. And you'll really feel like you earned the item too.

The witch hat costing hearts is really impractical. First, keep in mind that there is no way to actually buy hearts, so TGC would get no money for their efforts.
Also, it's a special seasonal cosmetic. The anniversary hat had a cost accessible to everyone, because it was the anniversary. Of course all players can celebrate the anniversary.
Holidays like Halloween and Christmas are purely extra. Other games put special seasonal IAPs all the time... Why must Sky be different?

Such items are event items. TGC needs money. Many other games want you to pay far more, and perhaps even watch ads as well. 3-15 hearts are the prices for many regular cosmetics such as hair and pants or some other Cosmetics.
Remember some of us who bought the bat cape and pumpkin hat last year bought it together for 25 USD. Bat cape 15 USD and the pumpkin hat 10 USD with no candles. They’ve learned from this and made IAP able for others to get without the founders cape and now also adding candles since then.
I think TGC is very nice and try to be fair when it comes to people being able to try it out now, but also at a price that doesn’t require insane amounts of money. Let’s take a pass for LINE which is what 99USD.
And this is an event item not seasonal.
They’re a small indie company of 30 ish people. Remember they’re people too.
Last note to this comment for now. If you have constructive feed back please tell them #beta-feedback instead of venting.

It’s so dark you can’t even see the pattern of the monsters, and I honestly think they don’t even have one. 😒

And even if you actually do reach a new candle and light it, you still die!? 😡
How are new players supposed to even get as far as me and my friend did!? They will quit playing Sky in rage or something!
You should be able to finish the level in a certain amount of time. Not as a timer, but it shouldn’t take 3 hours to find the next checkpoint!! ⏳

it can be a bit easier, just hold out your candles and you can move a tiny bit freely away from the path, but make sure to light a candle when krill fart come by (oof sorry for cold ping)

I usually get the camera to face down to see easily. Making it easier to predict the eyes' movement. But I have to put the camera back to normal to light the candles so I usually play the trial with the camera facing down when I need to speed it

Welp I just tried fire trial. I’ve been able to complete it solo after each update. Not this one! You can literally lie down on top of a candle and it will still kill you every time.

i don't get darkness growing back on regular instance splits, but i do get the map resetting itself if i'm split specifically because i fell into a reset zone of some kind

Happened to me while I was in sanctuary. I got the wax from it but the plant reappeared

one of the worst places for the reset to happen is when you're halfway through the candles on that one rotating block in the earth trial

a couple of them are behind doors in little rooms, there's one batch right before the meditation altar at the end, and then an absolutely evil cluster that's on the 6 faces of a rotating block floating above the void

i've never survived long enough to try, and i've yet to try the current trial: it might be possible to do it safely if you have a chain of 3-4 players though, and have the leader standing on the previous block just holding the chain out like a long stick

BabyChef, I haven't been to Eden for a while, but I saw some other players mention this issue. I think avoiding flying into the spirits in that last bit can help you pass through safely.
