Because we always play everything together I didn’t even know you could be teleported back by the darkness in the fire trials. After the update before this one I noticed if you let go of partners hand you start to die. Freaked me out. I was like having “1st time Eden trauma” all over again.

But it does seem to have something to do with the act of flipping crabs, rather than any particular method.

But it's weird. Yes, the Broken Temple Grounds and Sanctuary Islands have more crabs than most areas and are dangerous. But the Crab Fields have even more crabs, and I can lure scads of them into the ship and flip 8-10 of them at once, yet it's safe from the bug.

Memorise which candles the krill farts will pass by and which candles are safe. That’s what I did but dear god I don’t recommend doing it alone at all cause it’s like 100 times harder since you die SOOOOO much easier

After much trial and error, yes, NightFury, I was able to finish fire trial. It might feel impossible, but the "courage" aspect of it is just run through when you have the opportunity and only stop to replenish your light.

grab a friend into fire trial! it is 10 times more easier. Drag your friend around and keep them on a candle the krill fart passes. both of you should be holing candles at all times and the one being dragged around should continue deep calling. thats my advice on the fire trial

I’ve tried sitting, opening windows, laying down and still die in fire. TGC took a fun trial and turned it into something that is not playable. You shouldn’t have to always find a friend to go with you as you should be able to achieve something on your own 🤨😢

TGC has stated openly that they're trying to work out a way to bring back ultimates while still "respecting" the people who bought the passes and got them in-season. But they haven't worked out exactly to do that yet.

Another thing to consider: now with all the new friends we have here, they’re also experiencing new seasons along with us. and dang that anubis mask looks amazing. It’s the same for any TS item and possible ult that comes back. In the end it’s all about style and personal preference.

I think what makes older/long time players cool... are all the memories and knowledge and friendships they gained thru playing this game. Have pride in that, your time spent in sky is special and it’s something far more unique than any cosmetic representation

The shepherd system seems to be meant for shepherds to be able to find moths if they want to help them. Moths can't even see the shepherd symbol on anyone anymore, since that caused a lot of moths to follow those players around when they didn't want them to. A thing to remember : it's not good to generalize older players. There are some who are all for the return of Ults. I know a few who have been playing sky since pre release beta who want ults to come back. Some older players don't want ults to come back. It's not fair to generalize these players into all one group.

I am someone in the middle of this argument. I missed 3 seasons and I have experienced 3.5 seasons (prophecy being the 0.5 because beta testing). I still think it's really weird to want exclusivity of old stuff. if someone gets thr rhythm mask I was around for I wouldn't be upset.

and omg wyiott I definitely drop a lot of money on candles packs but more because I wanna upgrade friend trees (I have spent probably close to $500 in sky since I started in February. and lemme tell ya it was EXTRA WORK to spend money on a borrowed device that wasn't mine)

I'm lucky to get anything IAP (I won't explain cause personal but I will say money is tough rn for my family), and I cherish all of it because I know there are people out there who can't get the things they want, or more importantly need. That's why, when I tell my friends about the game, I always preach that you do not have to buy anything and that they shouldn't feel any less than someone who has them. It aint about the money or the emotes or the cosmetics.

1st area: breeze, about 5mins
2nd area: argh fgnenfjehfn 45mins of frustration
3rd area: meet the inner darkness of one's self... Time taken, I'd rather not disclose.

earth trial still has a cheese path, there's too many possibilities with the map's design
notice how some of the block walls float up as you approach them? you can jump on top of the first ones you see, then you get easy access on top of the walls when they're high enough

Everyone totems a tall person in water trial. Everyone cheeses it because only one person is doing the work and that person is tall so they have it easy.

you can in fact make an 8 person tall piggyback stack and have your entire server just be a single totem pole if you coordinate it properly (you can also ride ||oreo|| with an 8 person totem pole)

When you lose the winged light from. Krilling, crabs, rainfall or eden, you can redo the trial and grab it's winged light again. Nothing in beta is concrete though and that might change when it hits live

@dapper ginkgo I can actually swim as a chibi sometimes, as long as the water's receding. It's when the water goes up that things get hairy, and that's a problem on some of the peaks that aren't supposed to be 100% out of the water.

(Being able to swim as a chibi is not as much of an advantage as it seems: it kills your forward momentum, and so when the water rises next you're not where you need to be, so you die anyway).

Please keep in mind cosmetics, trials, winged light, and pretty much anything in beta can change drastically or even slightly before it goes live. Nothing is what it seems in beta... Though I wish the crab crash stayed for live at least for one day

WOW i just played through the redesigned water trial, its stunning! The water trial was the most challenging trial for me but now it is definitely my favourite, thank you team for your continued hard work! i can’t believe this game is so detailed and available on our phones!!!

It’s just too difficult, and even THEN People are gonna have to repeat the trials for star runs. plus beta is all about changing things for live so if it’s too hard then this would be a good thing to give feedback on, and not everyone can do it with other players with them

I've only been at it like 20 minutes and am a good chunk of the way through the second part solo. Keep dying cuz i get to a candle and click to light it and boom text message shows up. Super inconvenient to fill my screen with that

Now that I know the pathing, I could probably do it in less than 30mins, but trial and error of learning pathing took over 2 hours... And getting lost in the 3rd floor maze.

I thought fire trial was mid-tier in terms of difficulty.... Finished it alone in 30 min before and after the update.... I do find that if I wait for the worms to fly by in the 2nd stage, they don't hit me. I've figured out how to time lighting candles between the fire worm paths

The only time increasing portion of the fire trial is the 60-90 second wait between each death. At least, that's how long it took me to respawn...

A few times I'd die while standing and barely moving directly on top of the candle when the fire worms past by me and it got really frustrating :'))

Yeah if a worm brushed past you while you stand over a candle you should be good but if it passes directly over you, you will perish

If you can't find the seasonal candles in GW, please submit a bug report and ensure you are on the correct build number by long pressing the app, tap app info, advanced and the number in parentheses should be 154869.

@rain latch did you got beta access again during the latest beta wave? If you didn't, you can't receive updates anymore until you get beta access again

@spark lance yes this is my first time with beta, I had a hard time getting Google to show me access to download but it finally did and it updated once for me but It's not showing an update available in the play store

I was looking in the complete wrong place it's my bad, it did update for beta but not the live app it says updated Sept 23 (154869) I was looking at live because I thought that was also supposed to have an update
