Im worried these trials are going to suffer from the same frustrating server switch bugs that eden does. Poof, your seperated you can’t join and have to start over. Have had it happen twice already. And the fact that the spawn point is at the start of the cave really doesn’t help

You need to complete at least forest, since it’s gated by a forest constellation gate, and you can’t backtrack anyhow, and the spirits wouldn’t be available to you even if you managed to get someone to drag you in.

It used to not do that during the first few days, but now we keep getting split!

We can't TP to someone during trials so we had to go home and enter the cave and go to the trial all through the Isle of Dawn gate over again.

We had to redo it thrice.

Jae: the lack of info available is exactly why I’m testing them ahahaa, just curious at what their current state is like. A lot of patchnotes/updates are pretty brief bullet points. Sometimes not a lot of info is given because there are live players out there who don’t really rely on external sources/sites. So if the game isn’t intuitive enough for me to figure out by myself, I leave feedback on it too.

It's hard to interpret that birthday situation with any accuracy. There could be a lot of reasons behind the information you got.
It could also be that your friend has been busy and stressed by life outside of Sky, and doesn't have as much time to play as before.
The point is, you don't have enough information to know for sure, so try to not take it personally

/It might not be the focus but it sort of is the endgame for many people. You start off playing by curiosity, make friends along the way and ultimately what keeps you are the friendships and collectibles/expressions. So it is a fairly big part of the game, hence why TGC bring out new seasons and concepts such as TS.

This is just my opinion ,we lack a rewarding system to feel enjoyment for this game for a long time. I'm going towards the 7th month of playing this game and I already see a loop for myself :

log on -> farm -> maybe chat with friends or oob -> log off

Once u do have a healthy stack of candles, you stop farming, you completed pretty much everything and nothing much else to do.

The trials is a great start towards developing some new concepts/puzzles to the game. But what i would like to see is active weekly events (like large cooperative randomized missions) along with a rewarding system. To me this can keep most long term players to remain interested in the game.

Again this is just my perspective of the game that may need improvements. Also sorry if im not making much sense 🥴

I’ve played for a little over a year now and i can say my experience is pretty similar, Trials are prolly the start of some thing i’d always wanted to see in sky— some thing different to do.

We will feel bored really we play like racing to a race track. My suggestion is take it slowly. We dont have really to grind as many as candles as we want. Just play if we feel enjoy. I've seen a lot of people saying they had trouble with earth trial so a few tips. I'm not sure about chibi height but even small normal height if you spam that jump button and just make sure you're in the right direction there's only 1 or 2 jumps you have to wait and time. Spamming jump does wonders for stuttering your skykid on a vertical boulder wall to eventually launch up and on so you don't fall. Its not so much a bug as it is just that you're almost there and the boulder is spinning so you'll hop up shortly and spamming it in the mean time just keeps your sky kid trying to hop getting that smidge of vertical momentum each time so you don't fall.

Worth noting this wont let you scale a vertical side wall or anything and only works best for the intended route still.

@fierce trellis going with a friend makes it incredibly easy. if you can't or want to go solo, you could simply turn your brightness up. if you really wanna play it normally, its just a matter of patience and observation. try to always go when you have a full flame.

Which can let you do some otherwise impossible things.

Other than that I really don’t see a good reason to use 1 handed over 2-handed.

2-handed lets you move the camera while actively moving your skykid too.

@finite meteor Some of them have got to be deliberate. With L3 Breathe, for example, if you zoom in on the chibi's face, the eyes actually close: there's even animation for it. They slowly narrow down to tiny bright slits (which can be tough to see when you're not zoomed in), and then slowly open again. It seems really weird to me that that would be a bug. Then again, it also seems weird to me that only chibis seem to do it.

@tiny umbra in my experience, TGC leaves certain “bugs” in the game and calls the “glitches” because people enjoy going “OOB” along with going through certain doors and floors and ceilings. Something like this would “break” the live game, I think TGC is smarter than letting a monetary bug get into live. Letting small “glitches” in the game like what I said previously encourages hacker like behavior. If TGC was this VERY concerned about this they wouldn’t allow the small “glitches” in beta I’ve experienced a number of glitches when it came to the trials. * An exploit is using any existing bug or glitch, whether known or unknown, to gain advantage in gameplay. This might include things like buying season pass repeatedly to get extra season candles, but there have been others.
* A glitch is when players use existing game mechanics (like physics collisions plus piggyback) to achieve behavior from the game that's not created by design, but generally doesn't give advantage to players. For example, there are a few ways to get through walls and floors. Usually this leads to OOB exploration, but some use it to go solo through multi-player doors. So there's a gray area of ethics there. My personal philosophy is not to glitch when strangers are affected by it, e.g. if they need my help opening a door.
* A bug is when something just doesn't work as designed.

Glitches are things that happens unexpectedly when you do certain things not designed to be. Like if a game expected you to walk but you run instead. Then the outcome becomes something not expected. Like chibi falls, the game didn't expect you to combine certain steps so as a result you glitch out of the map.

Hacks are things you force. Like recently, since the 4th spirit is not out yet the 4th heart can't be obtained. So seeing other peope that have the ultimate reward are considered hacking because it is an outcome that is forced.

That's pretty much my philosophy on glitching through multiplayer doors. I have given candles to people near them before and brought them through with me when it's a more than 2 player door (also sometimes it's just really fun to get myself stuck in a wall )

My answer wasn't exhaustive, but I did say "usually" not an advantage. I recognize sometimes glitches give advantage, and as I said, I personally avoid glitching when it affects other players. But yes, sometimes there are glitches that are more advantageous. TGC is spread thin enough with content releases, maintenance, support, and porting to new platforms that not all of those things get patched quickly enough to prevent abuse. The mushrooms are a good example.

Because the murals cutscenes (for what I get) they should play only while standing in the floating rocks. So that someone have intentionally go there to see them. Put also I believe they should stay there after played for the the first time

I think that area overall has a problem with things being activated by others. I had a hard time getting any of the spirit memories to play without other people activating them before I could, or without other people trying to speedrun the memories so I couldn't study the vignettes and know the story

I think it would cause even more problems if only one player could do a spirit quest at a time. So it’s a tough one to solve. Otoh, this will mostly be an issue in the beginning, when everybody is there to get the spirits and do trials.

I remember a time in old beta when each player had to melt darkness themselves for it to count. You couldn’t hold the hand of a friend and just tag along on a cr!

I think the forest drums are a deeper key than the dundun? I don’t own it in beta or live so I’m working off of the simulator website, both of them

I started pre beta but only played once as life was much busier before corona , then I started again but didn’t have a clue what I was doing through gratitude and half lightseekers so I missed many cosmetics and only got half of light seekers 😭😭 only if I knew the significance I would of had deer mask waaaaaah!!! Prophecy is such a turning point !! It’s gonna be the new gratitude or rhythm people wishing they were there for it, but now we have the system where the quests stay after the season ends so they don’t miss out on lore

You mean the Anubis one? You need seasonal hearts but it's impossible to get currently

you need to get the AP and finish all the seasonal spirit trees, however this is currently not possible seeing as the Fire spirit has not yet come into beta, he is hiding somewhere, stealing seasonal candles 😔
