A lot of things in beta are explained in #beta-faq, so it pays to read through it before asking or maybe even searching/scrolling through the channels before asking. (Which doesn't mean you are not allowed to ask. It's just that the same questions over and over get a little repetitive, when the answers are readily available.)

In my experience, I was able to join in first wave but I wasn't able to download it bcuz the google is sloww ( I did follow the beta faq but nothing's happen )until the second wave came then that's how I able to download the beta.

I joined beta in sanctuary. I remember when the first wave came out that time i was sleeping and woke up right 6 minutes after the wave. Thanks to Google that Link wasn't working and I successfully got beta access. This time when 1st wave came out i was taking nap and woke up exact 1 minute before wave. Successfully got access again

people getting the pendant was a bug during the “floor is lava” bug, where players had to fly into a portal upon opening the game or they would get a game breaking cutscene the season was active (no new assets though) so the adventure pass was in the shop. it’s since been removed and will be back up when the season is active in beta

The pendant does absolutely nothing, it’s just a necklace right now. We have no access to any kind of season. No worries!
the small fixes (like the cutscene patch) might update automatically, but I think the bigger things will make you manually download it don’t take my word for it though, I’m not 100% sure

It’s just not supported. A lot of games supports all devices. This includes Chromebooks. Sadly, Sky doesn’t support all devices. This includes chromebooks. I tried but Google Play said that it doesn’t support my device.
There goes my attempt to possibly experience Sky in full HD60....

To the new players: There's NOTHING new about the new Season on Sky. Some players were able to buy the pendant (myself included), but that was during the cutscene glitch. Now, the ONLY way to get the new Seasonal Pass is when TGC releases the new season in beta. The new area is NOT available for visting, and if you see someone going there, report them, they're hacking.

Beta doesn't have 143, because some TS never came around in the game. In Live you can have 143 if you were around from the start of the TS system, which means you also needed to be playing on iOS at the time.

I feel that Sanctuary has more replayability (is that even a word?) than Ark, but perhaps mostly because it's more easily accessible. I do hope this new area doesn't end up like the Belonging addition in Isle, just an empty cave that no one ever visits after the season is over.

I really loved the ark restoration quests and i love the big boat (doing emotes one the ropesetc.), but everything else feels too empty. Sanctuary is way more welcoming and you don't have to fight with the boat to get there either.

i think the ark was supposed to feel desolate and lonely. other than the ark itself, the rest of the area is empty desert. kinda implies that the spirits never made it to where they were headed...
enchantment and sanctuary are very different in how the area makes you feel. sanctuary is a lot happier and more lively, while ark is a bit sad and mysterious

To the new players: There's NOTHING new about the new Season on Sky. Some players were able to buy the pendant (myself included), but that was during the cutscene glitch. Now, the ONLY way to get the new Seasonal Pass is when TGC releases the new season in beta. The new area is NOT available for visting, and if you see someone going there, report them, they're hacking.

@pulsar edge the issue was something like a bunch of lines of blank code. The quest giver didn't look like a new one and there wasn't much intro animation. Basically just zoom into quest giver doing "follow me" emote and then going through isle portal. And the game crashed because the rest of the intro was no code and game was like "uh do nothing?". It wasn't an app update so we didn't download anything to cause or fix the crash. Just a patch that happened without anyone updating the game. The reason it became floor is lava is because that intro didn't trigger if you didn't touch the ground in home space so if you flew up and yeeted into a portal you could still candle run or collect wing lights. Hopefully this answers what you were asking 😅

🤔 I would suggest open it anyway and if it crashes, send a report about your devices to let the dev knows. Since if it really bounds to crash one way or another you wouldn’t really want to wait til updates (when chat will definitely explode) and your concern will get drown out.

but also-- Beta testers need a variety of people. we need people from different regions/timezones to test things. for example, someone from asia might want to get a tester account but then someone from america decided to take multiple. if we have no testers from asia we may miss out on things that affect them like the translate feature, or server merging/split issues

valid question! People were able to get the pass early when the season was briefly "available" but caused a crash.(very simplified explanation, squishy explains it better) If you bypassed the crash the pass was available in the store.

@pliant sorrel I theorize that the increased player count on Sky Live is part of the cause. With more active users loading in and out, it is possible that our phones may encounter issues / conflicts from the constant asset draw. Although, I am mostly basing this off my speculations regarding a few specific bugs (like the plague of moths, sticky onion skin text, random crashes, etc.).

The delay means the game is waiting to visually show you the wax has been collected until the server confirms you have indeed collected it. If you are experiencing that collection delay AND not receiving the wax, then submit a bug report for it. - ktjn

yeah, sometimes reporting features that seem weird helps the devs know what needs to change. the green light used to travel from butterfly fields into birds nest before landing, but because everyone thought it was bugged, they changed the green light by keeping it in birds nest

I remember that there was a bug that someone could collect the wax from some places twice and their candle meter would fill up but drop down while switching locations, i believe it might be related to this

Yup, there was a lot of confusion because of how wax worked before they switched it up. Now it depends on connection, which is good because if your connection really is bad, you will notice (the meter won't go up). Previously players would speed through an area, collect wax, only to have it drop back down when they entered the next area.
Also, just theorizing this, but did the change in wax collection fix up moth bug? The bug seems to still happen, but now wax collection is possible, and it's just chat that doesn't work.

@spark lance I do know that google play and App Store do not approve anything on the weekends (Saturday-Sunday). That’s why you very rarely see mobile game updates come on weekends. These issues may fall into a different crews hands than the folks that actually approve updates though so there maybe some work happening on weekends

I was part of the testers group last time that was never able to download. This time, I connected my Discord to YouTube (because it is Google owned) which made sure everything was definitely connected. Then I did these exact steps.
Go to #beta-faq
Long press the link
Open in browser
Click the 3 dots on the top right
Open in Chrome
Click download it in Google Play
That worked for me.

They just said they are using a friends account to download it, which is against Sky’s TOS. If you cannot download it through your own account and you were accepted into the beta invites, it is a problem with google and can’t be solved here. Sorry for your troubles!

APKs from anywhere outside of the Google Play store are very sketchy, and you should definitely not use them for getting into a beta program. These programs are limited for a reason.
If Google Play won't let you download even though you're a tester, don't try to get it from someone else. As long as it says "you're a tester" you are a tester, and you'll have to troubleshoot the download from Google until it works.
Google is just bad about this, sadly there isn't much you can do since it's their problem. But don't resort to illegitimate resources! Hope you get it solved

It's a pain in the butt, but it seemed like Google wanted me using only their stuff to do everything. So yeah, extra steps, but it's legit, not wrong in any way, and it worked. It's better than not getting it to work at all like last time. I wish I'd have tried harder.

It seems like some people have found that the button sometimes randomly appears... Maybe if you check periodically and keep a sharp eye out for the download before it disappears, you can nab it?

🔹 - Play the game normally when you can. Devs definitely prioritize fixing game-breaking bugs that affects all players, but smaller-niche bugs will be likely be set at a lower priority.
🔹 - If live gets an update and a bug you reported is still there, please do not get discouraged, the devs didn’t ignore you, the fix is just at a lower priority or a bug that is difficult to fix and may take more time to sort out.
🔹 - Also read #beta-announcements when a dev shares new features and fixes... try to actively test out the stuff they mention. I also lurk around beta-screenshots and this discussion channel cause people tend to share interesting bugs they’ve discovered or want confirmation on.
🔹 - When giving reports, be concise about details and be polite! a tgc staff member has to read all of that. Adding in screenshots and vids is a definite bonus. Have a document that has copy paste info like ur phone's model and such. The max time for a reply is 10 min before skybot cancels.
🔹 - see what bugs people are testing and sometimes... It's good to sit out and be a control group. For example some people bought multiple seasons passes post-enchantment and got tons of seasonal candles. I chose not to do that so if anything comes up that makes my experience different from theirs (and vice versa) I can let Devs know thru report or feedback. Also sometimes cutscenes of seasonal spirits quests aren't ready day 1 of release. See what other people are reporting and maybe hold back and wait.
But biggest thing is don’t worry if you don’t bump into any bugs. It’s ok to chill and take breaks when you need it! There’s lots of other active beta players Tbh I wouldn’t worry about trying to purposely break the game for the sake of it, that’s not what an average player would do.

@sly cairn I don't know if it's really a trick, but I had the beta app page bookmarked on my browser (Chrome) so I could easily refresh. It normally said it was full when I hit install, but it worked randomly one of the times

Another tip for you guys: last season some people had earned enough seasonal hearts to purchase the Ultimate reward very early.... but this was before the icon and closet preview was ready, so many people did it and didn’t get anything. Probably could have avoided it if they check in on beta-discussion to see other people complaining..... They did eventually get the ult when it was released in a later patch. Lot of people were upset but this is also the risk that happens in beta. No one’s really entitled to having currency and items restored. The ult was restored to people at a much later date but it’s good to remember that Beta is for the sake of Live.
It’s important to understand that things that affect Live will be put at a much higher priority.

Sleeper: make sure your beta account is linked to google/game center
Erica: that’s not how it works. The upside down heart icon appears on new players to show that they’re new and to encourage others to help them. Your “shepherd” gauge is filled by doing certain tasks or doing certain things that increases your ‘friendliness gauge’ but no one has shared what those exact things are.

You can’t really rank others as it defeats the purpose of this game.
The heart icon you saw on top of a player means they’re new and it turned up side down when you light them up which is a known bug. Also what wyiott said, the icon encourages people to guide them.
