android players who can't download bea: read the FAQ and do all o the troubleshooting steps there. if you still can't download, one of the steps is to wait. there is a known problem with google that some android users can't download. if troubleshooting doesn't work unfortunately all you can do is wait patiently and hope. google blames TGC but it's something funky on google's end so it's not worth contacting google about because you'll basically get told "not my problem"

Well.... that's the point! It's our job to get out there and find bugs! So get searchin! 🐛
When will the new season come out?
We don't know, but so far the theory is that the new season will come out to beta players sometime after invite waves are over.
(That's just a theory though! We really don't know. )

Yes, the lantern event has already passed in beta. Sorry!

Progress Wipes only happen if a major thing like the Fallen Star cutscene when you download Sky was changed.
Access Wipes happen to get new testers to test new seasons.

I think the most important thing would just be that BETA DOES NOT BLEED INTO LIVE!! Anything you get in beta does not transfer to your live account. You're NOT here for rewards, you're here to test the new builds and help the devs repair bugs!!

If while testing a bug is found and you can recreate it in both the live and beta versions what is the best course of action to take with Skybot. Report for live and mention in the comments it occurs in beta too, report in both or report in beta and mention it occurs in live? I am aware they both are in the same version at the moment so it’s not critical right now but I’m asking for possible future cases where they are seperate versions too. I know yall are really excited but you can still be submitting bug reports #report-a-live-bug and feedback #live-feedback in live if you don't make beta (beta isn't free stuff or early access anyways). it's more stable but bugs do still make it to live and TGC is always looking to improve things so feedback is valuable in live too. Don't risk your health/wellbeing over this game.

Just reminding everyone that beta is literally the same as live but buggier and where your progress may be wiped for testing. It’s not stars and candles full of untold glory, it’s testing to identify bugs for the Sky community.
I’m sure many of you want to help out TGC but remember they don’t want you getting restless and losing sleep, grades or other aspects of your life just to try and get in. Take it easy and know that if you get in then great, have fun bug hunting, but if you don’t there will be plenty more sky children than can hunt bugs while you’re gone and you can relax in the live version while you wait for the next invite or season invite wave.

my reports probably aren't as great as yours but I just did this yesterday. and my phone is an oven (I figured out after I submitted my feedback that oven status was solely because of my bluetooth headphones. soon as I disconnected them, my battery went down 6 degrees )

That's one of the reasons beta testing might not be the thing for you, you miss out on so much of the feeling of seeing it from live, it's never gonna be the same in beta. While it's fun to be part of the process, you sort of ruin the "final experience" in a way. So it's always okay to decide you don't really want to test a season in beta, even when you have the chance and have been in beta in the past

Just to add on to what Mirian said: You will get spoiled about the season here and you may even become a bit bored with it, when it finally comes to Live, because you played through many iterations of it. Often the season in beta can be quite "plain" in the first patch. Sanctuary definitely developed over time and wasn't quite as beautiful as it is now.

It might take months to be downloadable to be honest because google is a sometimes a jerk. This is also why a lot of people have encouraged people to be chill and not to sacrifice time/irl priorities for getting a slot into beta. Yes, we as devs have total control over the beta testing. What we don't have control over is when you click the link on Google's app or website. Google tells you you're a tester, then when you go to actually download, once again Google tells you it's full. I push a little button, invites go out, after that, it's back in Google's hands to ensure that their products function the way one would expect. The game works, the beta app works, these are the things that TGC has control over. The test group management interface works on the dev side, and then when you as testers try to use Google's product to interact with our game...something breaks down outside of the game code.

Help beta is stuck on the loading screen

I have tried restarting the game, restarting my device, and checking my internet connection
@lunar crown Apparently it was still a connection issue. I switched to LTE and the beginning part (loading bar, MOTD) loaded the way it should. Then, I switched to WiFi and it worked like normal. This was a bit strange because I usually completely play Sky with WiFi. Perhaps it’s time to check my router (The same happened with live, btw)

beta is always about catching bugs. but we also can give feedback on new things! when sanctuary started, there were no butterflies, no chairs, and the spirits were much much harder to complete. we gave feedback and the devs added things!
so if you cant find bugs, that's ok! just playing the game and leaving feedback also helps

This also explains some of the "bugs" as code is funny like that. Adding a tiny feature or block of code can cause... unintended side effects, like invisible cape and shepherd system can cause forest elder to break in live or other bugs not shared between versions.

And yes, there is no new season yet. But also, seeing new seasonal content shouldn't be the only reason you're here in beta.

I’m not saying people are being mean by refusing to stop and help, I’m saying people are being mean by stopping and watching people who need help, using the laugh emote towards them and overall making fun of them for not being able to do things on their own yet

This is what was happening to my friend when she quit beta, thats what someone on here was saying that was happening to them.

I personally have no trouble getting places in beta, but many of my beta friends have complained to me about mean people such as this

We have already reported them, I’m just reminding people to be kind
