Not really. Some people are able to download right away, some after a few hours. Some after a few days. Some after a few months. Some people weren’t able to download since the last beta invite waves for sanctuary

I know google is slow, I know to reclick link each time invites reopen so to actually get the app, but Ktjn (or any other person who works on software dev for google beta apps), will you please explain the actual mechanics as to why google is "slow" and claims to be full? I talked with a google customer service rep and they said, "'The early access program is currently full. Space may open up later.' Means that the app developer is currently not allowing more people to use the beta version.
So, I'd request you to contact the app developers.
The app developer can consider sending a direct downloadable link for you." Obviously TGC is not going to send a direct download invite to every google user, but it sounds like the cap for beta app is lower than the cap for beta invite. Please, someone, why is it this way??? I have read the FAQs so don't say check there. I have the process for deleting my 3 google play apps history and login stuff down to a science. I clicked the second I got a notification (6:42pm PST) and still full for app download. Will it really clear? I am hearing too many horror stories of people who got in only to never be allowed to download the app. We understand this is a chaotic and stressful time. But does anyone have a legitimate answer???

My method when I first got the access to the beta

It didn't immediately available
So this is what I do without clearingbthe caches or so

Search the live one and go to the game's creator name, see if it's available yet or not, if not then go out, close the window and do the same thing again
Tried to do it for around 2 times and it's available afterwards

If it's still the same then wait for few hours or so and do the same thing somehow

The devs have contacted google on the android issue. Google has not helped at all. The devs cannot do anything about it. They will not give people direct downloads to beta as it will easily be leaked

Yes, we as devs have total control over the beta testing. What we don't have control over is when you click the link on Google's app or website. Google tells you you're a tester, then when you go to actually download, once again Google tells you it's full. I push a little button, invites go out, after that, it's back in Google's hands to ensure that their products function the way one would expect. The game works, the beta app works, these are the things that TGC has control over. The test group management interface works on the dev side, and then when you as testers try to use Google's product to interact with our game...something breaks down outside of the game code.

If anything, Google's customer service has always been bad. For example, I manage multiple email servers and one of them got themselves blocked by many email services (Google included) for sending spam (a mistake by that client caused the server to become a mail relay).

It's easy to delist from other anti-spam blacklists fairly quickly (once the email server's problem is fixed), but it's close to impossible to be delisted by Google's anti-spam. They don't have a page that lets you query your IP easily. They hide their application form deep in the dark. And they even state that they will never contact you for any results if you contact them. By contrast, Microsoft has a dedicated site for email server owners to query and apply for delisting from their anti-spam list, and their support will actually contact you for the result (or if they need more info from you)

So, yeah, Google sucks.

Once you have clicked on the link and joined beta, you are a beta tester. You don’t need to catch any more invite waves for the upcoming season.

And like- check the beta invite announcement aswell to see if it's really full or not

If you got the tester access then congrats! You can download the app, but it's not the immediately, donthe same thing on #beta-faq or try to search live version and click the game creator's name, check if you can, if cant, go home and close the window, re open and do the same thing, if it didn't happen anything then just w a it

The intro cut scene aka “message of the day” is often not accurate. There will be an update before the season starts testing and it’ll say in the beta updates channel what is in the update and what we may want to be on the look out for as far as bugs and testing.

if you cannot download beta right now and you followed the tips in #beta-faq (android), then all you can do is wait. this happened last time too, many had to wait days, some weeks for it to show up. unfortunately, some never got to download. you can also try and wait for another invite wave and join again, it seemed to work for some. other than that, all you can do is be patient and hope that it shows up.

If you are staying up late for an invite, GO TO SLEEP. TGC does invites within the span of 2-3 days as far as I personally witnessed. Beta is not worth more than your health. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again - because I feel like it should be said again.

TGC cares for your health. And so does everyone within the Sky community and outside it. Please go drink water, eat food, do what you have to do.

Also android users! My biggest wishes are for those of y’all wanting to get in to get in. And if you get in I hope you can download it!

I got the beta access at 2nd wave. I used a dedicate pc to monitor the beta invite channel.
And I got the can't download bug from google first time. But after I click the web version's play store multiple times, somehow my phone can load the beta sky. So for those who became a beta tester but still can't load the game, give a try. It might work.

As stated in #beta-announcements , the MOTD and countdown timers are inaccurate, so the new season is not starting at reset. It doesn't make sense for the new season to start in the middle of invite waves...

So this is what google staff told me to do for the download problem:
