I know there’s a lot of hype around beta, but there’s also a reason why thousands join but there is a super sharp drop off of players after the first week or two. Beta is buggy, can be lonely and after a season is done testing the majority of people don’t want to stick around to help test and give feedback on less exciting stuff.

Staying up too late and sacrificing other stuff, might make possible disappointment hit harder and cause regrets later on. It’s honestly best to go on about your daily life and chill. If you get pinged within ur waking hours then if not... there’s always the super polished exciting reveal when the new season hits Live. And there’s always bug hunting in live too

Yeah, compared to live, beta is very empty and it can be hard to open 2 player doors at times.

Beta can be very hard to get around in.. that's why I heavily reccomend getting the chibi mask and learning how to chibi fall.

If you're on Android, that is a known issue with google. Some troubleshooting steps can be found in #beta-faq, #beta-signup-info, #beta-discussion-android and the pins, but those are tips, not solutions unfortunately

You can try contacting Google support but honestly, that doesn't seem to help most people that report back here. They usually tell TGC should fix something on their side, when other Android users are getting in just fine and some take a couple of days

can confirm: I'm android and had no problems getting into beta last access wipe or this one. I've only ever had an update download issue once and turns out I just had bad internet signal that time. Lots of other android users were having long delays and unable to download the app at all. nobody really knows what the problem is other than something to do with google. sadly google support is just like "that's tgc's problem not mine" all you can do is follow the troubleshooting steps in FAQs and be patient and hope for the best. big hugs to anyone affected by google's weirdness with beta

yes, there are multiple waves for different time zones so you don't have to risk your health for beta, because your health is definitely more important.

Access wipes would NOT wipe your progress, you would only lose your access to beta, meaning you can't update without an invite back. Progress wipes WILL wipe your progress, meaning your cosmetics and stuff. This was an access wipe though, so previous beta players still have their progress.

I'm not exactly sure, but that's what I did, since Google still thinks I'm a tester so I just decided to manually remove myself from the program so no problems occur. Idk tho

I’m really annoyed at everyone saying “just walk away you’ll get a notification”. When the invite happens at 00:05, you’re not gonna hear a ping or have a chance to get in and that’s why people were waiting up.

Having said that, there will be more invites, presumably at a reasonable time for US folks so that those of us in the US who actually test and provide feedback can get back in.

the way i wait for invites is i have my laptop open and my headphones on with beta-invites unmuted. so i go do stuff like art on my phone. then when i hear the ping, i get on discord on my phone to try to get in beta.

@hearty pelican well, depends on what device you are playing sky on. if you are playing on ios, you have to be on that ios device because you need to confirm through testflight and that's an app you need to download on your ios device. if you're on android, you can do it on laptop because you click the link, make sure you're on the right google account, become a tester, and go download beta on your phone, making sure you're on the right google account to download it.

@chrome vale you can sign out of google in your device settings i think, you can unlink your google account from that device then add it back through google play store or something like that.

I am an existing beta user. I still have my Sky beta app on my android phone. Can I still get future patch updates if I prefer not to uninstall the existing beta app? Or do I need to uninstall the existing beta app and wait for the new invite link to download it again just so I can get future patch updates and to be a beta tester again? Ahhh im confused Im sorry. The one with white inside is the beta cape, a limited cosmetic that was a gift from TGC to beta testers before global launch last year. You can see the difference in the pins!

The black one is the founders cape, another symbol of support for TGC that you can get in the office

I was wondering if this might be relevant. I previously tried downloading the beta app in Google Play and wasn't able to. I was told to go through all those steps with clearing cache and various other stuff, but unfortunately that didn't work for me either.
I just managed to download it in the most silly way and I was wondering if this info might help someone else too. Basically what I did is that I clicked on the link for beta app on my desktop computer and there I had an option to install it on my phone directly (since all my accounts were connected).

If your friends have beta though, you can friend them with a QR! Just don't forget that beta QRs are different than live QRs - don't mix them up. You can't get people into beta with QRs, by the way

Last time there was a beta invite wave, there was so much spill over into genchat that it caused sky discord to actually crash. For the sake of having a stable server for live and beta players alike, mods have been more strict about containing beta talk to their beta channels. It can feel really harsh to be singled out but the mods are trying their best to keep things running smoothly for everyone

Google can literally take several days, weeks or even months unfortunately to register you as a tester. If you were able to join, but can't download the beta, that is a known issue and you can read all about it in the #beta-faq but there isnt really a solution for it

If it says you are a tester, you are good, but it can seriously take Google their sweet time to register you as one and let you download the beta. If the steps in #beta-faq doesnt work, you just have to wait and hope

FIRST TIME BETA
When you get that invite link it'll say you're a tester. You are not safe yet. Make sure you immediately go to the playstore and download the app before telling your friends. If the app says its full you'll need to try again next invite wave.

PREVIOUS BETA
If you deleted the app, congratulations you are now a first time beta, read above. If you have the app already you just need to click the invite link to become a tester. Then you need to wait a few hours max for the update to appear in the play store.

For those of you asking some common questions - you DO NOT NEED TO DELETE YOUR LIVE APP to participate in Beta. They are completely separate and progress does not transfer from one to the other. To those of you from previous testing cycles - your access is wiped in that you cannot download any updates unless you join the beta program again through the invite link. In iOS on test flight it will say “accept” in TestFlight after you click the link - once you accept you are a beta tester again. Good luck everyone!
