Google's processing for the beta program is incredibly slow, even for us when uploading new builds. I highly recommend waiting 24 hours after becoming a tester to let it process. If the app is not showing up in the Google Play store you need to go to the entirely separate app Google Play Games it's a green icon with a controller. Once that app is open, search for "Sky: Children of the Light". Two apps will come up, one will be the Live version, and the second should have the prefix [BETA] as pictured here:

TIP: If you can not download the program from google via link, but you got the -welcome to the test program-you are a tester- message, go to the Play store, search for SkyBeta and try to download it from there. Sometimes that solves the problem

The Beta Cape was a one-time reward for the testing period prior to the iOS global launch. A future reward is not planned.

As of my experience on beta invites before the season of sanctuary, even if you got the blue button or "you are a tester" message on the link from ktjn, but got red message saying "currently full" on playstore, you'll never got the app installed.

Unless, you leave the program, and wait for another invite and press the blue button again. Trust me.

Ok I had a long chat with Google support. The verdict is that there aren't enough download spots open on the app. I think its separate from the become a tester thing? It was suggested to me that I contact the tgc email on the play store to report the issue and if they can't fix it then the app can be reported. Seems harsh but im not Google support.

Perhaps the issue is that previous beta testers still have the app or it wasn't wiped properly? Im not an expert idk guys

As of my experience on beta invites before the season of sanctuary, even if you got the blue button or "you are a tester" message on the link from ktjn, but got red message saying "currently full" on playstore, you'll never got the app installed.

Unless, you leave the program, and wait for another invite and press the blue button again. Trust me.

sometimes when you cancel a download, it causes a caching issue, you may need to start/stop the download a couple times and/or restart your device to jumpstart it.
So long as you do not leave the beta program, you can install/uninstall the games as many times as you want/need.

Google has its fair issues with the beta app / tester program in general, best you can do is be patient with it

@limber tusk like in app purchases? If you just started brand new in beta you should have the starter pack available I think unless they removed it. Otherwise there usually isn’t anything in the in game shop until we get season passes or purchases like the lantern to test. Edit to add - you can purchase the Founders Cape in the office in App Store if someone takes you to get it.

You'll still have to tap/click the link and become a beta tester again since everyone's access has been wiped. If you don't, the app will still remain on your phone but u won't recieve any new updates. Joining the beta once doesn't mean you'll stay there forever, with each season ending, this will repeat and you'll have to tap the link again to become a member if you want to continue testing

First of all, welcome to the spoiled community. After tapping the link you'll definately become a member but ofc there'sGoogle, which will be the krill in the way. I was lucky last time, I had no issues with Google, but I know many people had and will have issues, if that's the case , as everone's already said, PATIENCE is the key.

For further clarity check #beta-faq , the devs have that channel for a reason, read that first and then ask questions ( if they aren't mentioned in the faq page)
Lastly, don't go hard on devs asking "when will invites come", noone knows, the devs will give the link when they wish to and when they find it suitable, have some patience, the devs are humans too .

@atomic swallow They will accommodate different time zones. It's written in the beta invite rules 😂 and from what I've experienced in the Sanctuary beta invites, Ktjn sent the links at 8 am/3pm/ 9pm /4am very different times

Regarding the not being able to download the Beta from Google Play:

I was one of the people back in June who had gotten into beta testing, but Google never came around to allow the download. I checked the Beta app for a full month to see if I somehow did get allowed to download it, before finally giving up. It's sad, but it's the way Google is, and there's nothing ktjn or any of the devs can do about it. Please don't hold this against them.

I know fully well how infuriating the wait can be, trust me. I have been accepted for testing again, and again Google is acting up. Unfortunately the only thing we can do is wait to see what happens and hope for the best. Please don't spam the wonderful people here. Good luck all

Managing beta and live together is not easy.
-i skip collecting in either live or beta (im finished with regular spirits in live so pressure is less to collect all)
(Beta is not there to collect all the regular cosmetics, but to test new features-> dont have to do CR all the time)

• i play the two at the same time (2 device - usually being dragged in live where i just chat with friends)
• if there is special request to test something i focus on that only rather than cr

Hope it makes sense. I won't say any of this is an example to follow, it's just how i usually do things
