This server is a resource for official information, asking questions, talking about sky, sharing creations and finding people to play with. Quick question I was a beta tester quite. awhile and then I deleted the test flight app. When I decided to redownload it to get back to sky beta I couldn’t see the start testing? Does this mean I got kicked for inactivity? This is actually the first time happening. It has never happened until now.

If you didn't reapply during the latest wave, your access has been temporarily halted. If you want to get back in again, get yourself the beta ping role and wait for new waves around the time of the end of the season in Live.

it's weird, im on iphone 6 and i didn't have major issues...
it froze (on the tgc logo screen) when i first opened the game today, but closing and restarting fixed it, and it was all smooth sailing after that

Tip: Server. I have problems everytime I logs into Sky and it brings me to another. Network connectivity issues. I cannot reproduce it so I just explain in words.

When server merging with another player, two interface overlaps and I get funny idv scenes in the game.

iOS 14 will be comming out this Fall, it is a big update, I’m sure SKY is keeping up with new software for all devices, android and iOS. This may be one reason older iPhones are experiencing bugs after update

No bugs for me on iPad Pro, or iPhone XS 13.6

13.6 is currently iOS software anything below 13.0 may begin to experience issues

-make sure battery is not low if low it can cause issues

-check phone storage another area that can cause issues

-restart your iPhone shutting off and restarting with Apple 🍎 logo

-check for updates on cellular and iPhone software

I’m in Apple advisor these are all things we would ask you to check if you call Apple and having issues in game

Why do I feel like the light seekers cape is shorter from ts?

It seems shorter to me than my cape from light seekers season in live

It won’t even cover the shirt in beta

Have to go Chibi to be properly dressed, loll

I can pull screenshots from both, the cape from the TS is the exact same item as the one from the season, they are not coded as Wing_LightseekerCape/Wing_LightseekerCapeTS respectively (note: that's not the actual item name, just for demonstration purposes) the only difference would be the timestamp on when it was obtained and the currency used to obtain it.

bear in mind, if your Live/Beta characters are different heights, using different stances, different pants/hair/masks, it will absolutely make a difference on how the cape looks as well.

I did do a small comparison of the lightseeker cape (form a yt vid) VS the TS one... In summary: No, the cape did not shrink or shortened, but however it do feels a lil different from the original one smh

live and beta are on the same build currently, no changes have been made to the item, so if there is a bug of sorts going on with the cape, it would have to be impacting both versions.

I have a question about character progress in Android beta versus Android live and how to transfer my beta items (not much progress but it has clothes and accessories that I still want) to my live character (the one that now has more progress). The Google account should be the same but when I started on live earlier in the year it didn't transfer my beta character's progress. Is this intentional or did I do something wrong when trying to link my account in the app? Can I transfer progress now and if so will it override my live character's progress?

It is agains the ToS to use APK, especially to access beta. You can't report bugs to the team, if you are not using the legit version.

You also risk downloading malware to your phone, so it would not be generally advisable anyway.

I have two possible explanations for that:

1. some moths are pretty curious and very very determined, they’ll explore every inch of map they can access
2. I heavily suspect server merge matchmaking looks for players within a certain area and puts them together. I can’t count the times I’ve waited for help to burn the battlefield plant, and a random person suddenly pops up right on the plant itself. Hardly ever join one that is far off.

Ya know.... People who did prerelease beta had no idea there would be a gifted cape in the end? It was a ton of months playing the game as it took form, giving feedback and eventually losing every single item they had ever earned over the months/year in a big wipe.

In #lore-discussion-spoilers there are imgur galleries show casing the early days of beta and it is a marvel at how far the game has come since its prerelease beta days. It's unfortunate that android wasn't a platform back then but rather than focus on cross platforming an incomplete game for hundreds and hundreds of phones, TGC stuck with iOS so they could focus more on developing the actual base game first.

I don't even feel like iOS beta testers who joined after global release deserve a beta cape any more than newer android beta people. Pre-release beta players spent so much time playing and testing out some frankly very painful mechanics (like losing emotes in eden... Hhhhhh) and their play testing/feedback helped Devs refine beta sky into the game that we know today.

What we all got from Devs and Pre-release beta, is a fun game and an incredible community as well as a very special line of communication with Devs who care and listen to player insights.

I used to play a mobile game where the devs were all about money and couldn't care less for f2p players, they had no qualms encouraging players to become whales and didn't take any feedback. The engagement and the ability to share thoughts directly with TGC is worlds apart from that. The fact that we still have an ongoing beta to help refine bugs and new seasons before they hit live, is more valuable than any cape or cosmetic.

It was an option in the emote menu at start, and you could place up to 3 per area anywhere as long as you were standing on something solid. You just selected that and it worked exactly like the Message Candles shrines we have now to write a message, but it would stay at your location

You won’t lose progress if you logged into Game Center or google. If you had beta on your old phone you will need to wait until TGC does a beta progress wipe and get the invite link before it is full to rejoin.

Then if you have logged in you can start where you left off. Beta access is by invite only and has limited slots because of google and Apple.

So I just got a new ipad today and tried to install Sky Beta through Testflight. I have it installed on my old device and is still working fine. However, when I tried to install it on my new ipad, using the same apple id, it didn't work and said that the app can't be installed.
Is there any specific steps I need to do in order to install it on my new device such as enabling "trust" on beta testing apps?

This is a bit late, so I won’t ping, but if your main motivation for joining beta is “free stuff!” you might want to reconsider. Beta is for testing new features, including new season, and only has a few thousand spots open. Beta and live are completely separate!

However, you get to test and experience them early in your beta account, and they might go to live so all players can experience it there (in that case you would need to get it in your live account as well)

“Might go” because not all things in beta make it to the final game. Sometimes they are changed or scrapped completely

Your input as a beta tester is valuable for TGC, which is why they ask us to provide both feedback and bug reports (which is of course also true for Live). If an intended feature doesn't work as expected or is confusing for players, TGC often tries to rework it based on what beta players have said. I like to think of it as an honour role; beta players have the privilege of being part of the game's development, but we also need to be humble and respectful in our feedback.

(Grumpy mountain climber) took users a long time to do, I myself failed several times because I could not get it to go up the mountain and by the time I finished it there was less than 5 minutes on the timer. When that went to live, they expanded his light circle and reduced the gravey along the mountain. They nerfed that quest supremely, and that in Itself shows that TGC LISTENS. THEY HEAR US. They make the game enjoyable in live because there are people who test it in beta

Yes, but I think that saying that it's also important to emphasise that ultimately it's their game. We can't demand that they change things we don't like or think are bad for some reason. I have seen some pretty entitled comments out there, unfortunately.

Pyre: I’d like to add that beta players do get to experience stuff early.. but also these experiences aren’t as polished. When sanctuary first came out there were no butterflies, very little flowers, no recharge lamp in the crab cave, the crab cave lighting itself was very plain and nowhere close to the pretty blue it is right now. the island was quite devoid of animal life, there were no beach chairs or umbrellas or fire pits. It was honestly very stark and stuff was gradually added with each update.

It’s a cool experience to see its release and progression but it absolutely does damper the polished ‘wow’ reveal in live. If you’re ok with that and wish to send feedback and bugreports, then yeah beta is good for that.

My line of thinking was often during shepherding, the leader can't talk, they either have to pause their game then text something which breaks the rhythm , also in more challenging places, that causes to lose stars.

Now I don’t want voice calls to be unlocked immediately like texting.
Like I have texts on with countless ppl.But I have direct warp with only three person after playing this game for three months and we are pretty famaliar with each other.Now If you make it harder to unlock voice calls and put it high above in the friendship tree, I'm sure ppl will only talk with someone they rlly feel comfortable with.

The text must have censorship as It's the primary medium of communication just like on Discord and Reddit.Even in these social media you do have the option to voice call for when you are trusting enough. I'm just saying because in some situations, texting feels cumbersome and we could have a much better experience if measures are taken to include voice call as an option

Re: voice chat: For the select few one might trust to be on a call with, there are plenty of third party applications with voice calling. It's kind of trying to solve for a problem that doesn't exist, or already has a readily available solution.
We don't even have text chat inherently available between every player. Asking for native support of voice needs to make sense for the game and the playerbase as a whole.

hi, I was playing in Beta and this player dressed as a moth showed me emotes including the blowkiss emote and then he offered me a hand, he brought me to the prairie caves and he was reliving the yoga spirit, is that normal in Beta?

The Lantern just glows. It isn’t the most useful thing but at times it can be useful. Like the umbrella, it’s not that useful but not that useless
