most likely not, compensation for lost currency in beta is low priority
however it's been acknowledged in #beta-known-issues, but that won't necessarily mean what it implies by "investigation"

you can buy the cape in live when the season comes out! beta comes with lots of warnings not to get attached to your stuff here because stuff like that happens here. Just remember this isn't a replacement for live (or early access or "free stuff"), we're only here to test and give feedback. Enough players didn't spend their hearts before the update that we (who did spend our hearts before) probably don't need to test the cape so it's not highly likely that you'll get reimbursed. just wait like me and get it in live 🙂

technically the hearts aren't lost. they were spent. just the item we spent them on was a null item

As of now, we don’t currently have future plans for additional Beta tester rewards. However, we will periodically be conducting candle giveaways for Beta, so stay tuned to #beta-announcements on how to participate in those!

I’m so glad! It’s helpful for us to see candles that don’t give wax are a different colour (I’m thinking of those infamous Vault candles that don’t give wax but are red candles (iykyk)).

Hello everyone! I and my friends just saw someone on beta wearing the manta cape. They were really bragging about it. Now we are suspicious if they acquired it illegitimately. It did not occur to us to report them or anything. Can something be done about this?

It's possible to acquire the manta cape in a way Urema. There was a bug that occurred where people got a splurge of seasonal candles, they then got wiped back to 20 seasonal candles, however there was a moment before the wipe where some people still had the candles and were able to use those candles to get the items. If some of the people saved the seasonal hearts and did not buy the ultimate gifts yet then it is plausible to have the cape. Im just saying that it is possible. It might have been illegitimate as well.

I don't think anyone should be bragging about intentionally using the game in a way the devs specifically said they don't want in regards o your "you can't blame them" statement. I don't expect punishment beyond the removal of the candles that already happened but my statement that they are illegitimate candles is not incorrect. The devs don't just punish people immediately upon getting a report (I accidentally reported my friend in game once because they were standing incredibly close to someone who was bragging about hacking). They investigate the claim first. They do tell you to report anything suspicious in game and since there's a pretty good chance it was hacked then reporting it helps the devs investigate whether the person did hack or took advantage of a bug.

If someone is bragging about illegitimate ways of getting cosmetics then sure report them because they admitted they were doing something wrong. If someone is bragging about having a cosmetics then just stay away from that person because you dont like their behaviour. As much as ive seen Urema said they bragged about a cosmetic not about illegitimate ways.
I was aslo just pointing out to them that it was possible to get it due to the bug that happened. I also never told you that you were incorrect. And I also do know the process of reporting people. I was talking to the person to tell them of the possibility of what happened and it's their choice to report or not. But reporting would lose tgc's time if it was just due to the bug is what I was trying to say.
And once again, if it was a bug and someone used the bug then it's not up for reporting.

The new area for Sanctuary is a permanent feature, seasonal spirits aside, the content contained will persist once Sanctuary concludes. Similar to the Forgotten ark area for Enchantment.
We're constantly, incrementally working on improving existing worlds and spirit quests.
We may add new permanent spirits and constellations but I am not at liberty to really go into detail on those plans other than yes we've discussed it internally when looking at the long term experience of Sky. The game has certainly become way more popular than we expected and it will take our tiny dev team a while to 'catch up' and adjust for how players are enjoying the game in ways we didn't expect. Which is a GOOD thing, but again, adjusting and doing things the right way takes time. This includes so, so many things we're working on internally that we're not ready to share yet.

With ODR, the biggest issue (besides just not working ) was the app suddenly becoming double the size it's supposed to be.
So Android people, check the beta's app info and post if your app is suddenly anything over 1 GB

TGC doesn't typically announce their future or planned updates. They put things out in beta for us to test and then, if the feedback is negative, they may fiddle a bit with it or discard it completely. If feedback is positive, there may be a few iterations to tweak a new feature and then it is released to Live.

it's a bug because i assume? if you were using the new stance before the update, and since they changed its icon and position, your skykid wasn't using any stance, and that defaults to Eden wind stance 👻
but that would be a cool feature if your friends who were in eden had that stance when you checked their stars! :0

I have gripes with a lot of this season, sadly. The developers knew we needed a vacation, and I appreciate that, I really do, but I’d have appreciated it more if it was less like an IRL vacation. I play sky to escape real life, so I’d really rather it stay out of sky, even if it is in the form of a vacation.

Is it just me or has flight been further nerfed in this latest update. A simple flap has us launch up and in many areas of sanctuary we just float. Flight is awful.

@finite pumice I believe they gave all of sanctuary a low-gravity effect.. because it would otherwise be very hard to navigate. (For new players mostly..)
It does take away from the gravity spell (which is basically obsolete, because any place you would really need it already has the effect)
I agree though.. that especially with the spirit in the crab cave, the low gravity really got in the way.

Personally I don’t have any problems with the flying. I’m not sure about sanctuary but you have to remember it’s still in beta.

For sure. They added some very clever ideas like the water spouts to give newbies altitude. It works very well. Nerfing gravity ruins this. I find it especially difficult to control flight now. Oh yes thank you. I did step away but no matter how I feel I keep wanting to come back.

Hmm i think more they added “updrift” as in air pushing you up. Although, the geysers are so nice when you have to fly in such a huge area

It feels like the low-gravity effect to me, but in some places there is also updrafts.. it’s a bit like citadel.. gotta adapt your flying to work with the local umm atmosphere?

if you have the glide flight mode you can keep almost level in the air as you go forwards! if you have the “speedy” one you’ll have more trouble staying level in the air
at least thats what i noticed, but manta riding is the most superior!

I do love how the small ones call out and start flying upwards when you land on them.. finally some more interaction with manta besides getting skykidnapped by the mantas while burning the darkness on the bell towers
