I don't know, having spent a lot of time in the Questions channel lately, my impressions is that a lot of new players don't understand the core value of the game: generosity, kindness, exploration. They are on mad hunts for candles to get cosmetics, they claim to have "finished the game" because they played through all realms, they actually what is the meaning of the game. So something is not being communicated properly.

I experienced the adjusted entry to GW this morning. I don't know what this latest update might have done. I expressed my feeling about the fiddling going on with this recently and it wasn't welcomed by TGC. It's interesting to see others with similar opinions. It was mildly annoying before, but now it's just all sorts of broken.

I'm glad to see that people who sneak in can't be put in the same instance as the cyan capes though. You should make the effort to make friends (friendships being the main focus of the game) with a cyan cape or support TGC monetarily if you want the bonus area. This is a free game with ZERO ads and a ton of content. I don't mind financially supporting that when I can afford to and it's not unfair of them to have exclusive paid content. There really isn't much paid only content and you can still access 90+% of the paid content for free if you're patient and daily candle grind anyways. Also it's super easy to make friends with cyan capes. just go in #looking-for-group-live and ask for an ||office|| uber. also because you put that up while I was typing my paragraph here: thank you for testing that Loony! looks like it's working as intended.
also side note: I absolutely 1000000000% love that building friendships is a huge point of this game. I have made so many friends here and my live account constellation can't even hold them all. It's super cool to connect with people all over the world and Sky is so much more relaxed pace than a lot of MMO type games. I'm so happy my friend introduced me to the world of sky

If they were in the citadel you’d consistently fail to get them unless they were nerfed to fly close to a spot you could stand on. Flight in the citadel is one of the worst in the entire game. After they nerfed flight and the controls all sorts of wind walls and updrafts were added to allow you to just ride air currents up to the top. Those constantly interfere with flight here making quests painful and not-fun.

I love citadel flight... It's fun to switch between glide and hover for precision landing. Birds nest has funkier wind currents and I love it too. It's a fun challenge

take citadel for example, if i’m going down too fast (which is also hard to control) and i’m a bit below a platform and i still wanna land on it, either i hit on the wall and bet i would jump on it, or awkwardly switch to floating mode and fly up as least as i can but still make myself farther away from it and need seconds to descend
if you’ve ever tried to burn down a whole branch of the huge darkness you’ll probably agree even the floating mode is hard to control. the repealing force from the darkness is not a fun challenge in my opinion, it’s a huge trouble

It's a bug and if you're able to endlessly farm candles from it, it's an exploit. I'd recommend not gathering any more. We'll probably have this fixed and removed in the next build.

Yeah, but afik up to one candle per day from each mushroom. They will reappear when you re-enter the ark, your candle won't increase when you pick them again.

The bug is still unclear but I found the walkaround: Go to any area with a background music (like forest social) and play the music sheet there, or start playing the sheet before the home music ends. I already reported what I could find but thought you might be interested.

Whether or not it’s disrespectful to the devs everyone is excited for the new area/season. Nearly all of the live players sharing ark content have never seen it before. Us beta players can sit back and say “Why do you guys have to spread it around so much? It’s not right” when we’ve had the content for a little while now and our initial excitement has faded. Most of us are happy for the ark/season but we’re not the same level of excited as the day the ark update released. Live players are excited because they’ve never seen it before. Let them have that excitement and just tone it down where it needs to be, like if they’re posting in every live channel. Side-eyeing live players when you come from bias as a beta player isn’t going to do anything other then make people think you’re rude.

It isn’t just for here. It’s for beta players in general. I have beta friends who’ve been expressing their annoyance at people excitement for the ark glitch in live. There’s offhanded comments I’ve seen on here every so often today, even one some messages up a bunch of people reacted to like “100%” and prompted me make the post. I’m disappointed I see some long-term beta players making comments that don’t seem to see past their own bias of having the content weeks in advance.

Reading back through all this, tbh, I'm surprised that TGC put an update out there that actually contains the ARK area in it. The had to know that some people would glitch/hack their way in, especially when they've just opened up the game in Live to Android where (I'm guessing) most of the hacking is occurring. Given that the next season is obviously far from complete (I'm basing that mostly on the 29 days till the next light event), it's very surprising to me that the content that is considered done has been put at risk in Live the way it has. It may just be expediency due to the current compromised position the devs are in. It's just a shame because now they have to lose time to whack-a-mole instead of polishing and making the next season as wonderful as they want it to be.
