/rant-on I know that it was (and still is) a bug that we can defeat the fall to the ground upon entering the "golden" wasteland, allowing us to fly, if we are careful, up to the skykid on top of the stones, or elsewhere, however. HOWEVER, it did not need to be fixed. The fix that has been done thus far 1. doesn't actually stop us from defeating the fall, 2. just ruins the entire immersion experience. Now, no matter where we land, we are suddenly thrown into darkness, as if the fall was never broken. Just now, I let the fall happen, and then it didn't, my skykid floated to the ground gracefully. All was well, and then I skipped forward, and then yes, there it goes, darkness, the noise of landing, and wake up time. It's just horrible as an experience. I'm hoping this does not make it into the Android launch. Please, either revert it, or simply prevent any interaction until the fall has completed. Personally, I don't see the point in the uncontrolled fall. Seasoned players should have the option to try and arrest the fall naturally, to use their hard earned ability to fly, and ... fly. I've never really understood why the entrance to wasteland was made to be this way; it's just an annoyance, like the cut-scenes after so many times.

I imagine that once they have the next big animation around the ark working well enough for testing, there will be an update and the 38 days will come down. it's just an artificial time thing to prevent us triggering something that would probably crash the app right now.

now, that rant before raised a thought for me. given that Android is due to launch this month (the days are ticking by), what is going to be launched? will it match what we have now in live, or will it just match what live will have when the current season of rythm finishes. I'm really hoping that TGC are not hoping/planning for this new season to launch at the same time as Android. There are so many little issues in the current beta that are not in the current live version. It's puzzling to see some of the changes (moving goldenkid #1, pink/missing textures in forest, camera is like all over the place)

I know I'm a cranky old so and so, and I whine a lot, but I do love the game. The new ark area is pretty nice, and what we're seeing so far of bringing the ark back to life mirrors a vision I had for the game as a whole that I wrote about last year (or the year before) on the old FB group.

I think the visits to the ark are just highlighting how annoying the wasteland cutscene is. When you have to go through it multiple times a day it really hammers it home.

that's the nature accelerated content for test purposes, in live there will be a lot more time for this stuff to breathe. these quests will be spaced out a week at a time, and the daily light quests will only be added to the rotation as their story quest unfolds.

I always saw the fall in wasteland as symbolic, a fall from grace that is valley, and while I agree it can be annoying at times, it serves as the realisation of the challenges both of the area and the symbolic life stage and times both ingame lore wise and in real life that it is reflecting represents.
BTW you can land by getting over to the rock with the spirit in the middle of crab lake, further than that and you don't hit the blackout cutscene.

Once you touch ground outside of the cutscene trigger zone, the cutscene trigger should be disabled.

If you do it right, you can land fairly close to the boat (I think people more skilled than I am even landed in the boat) so it’s certainly a bit demoralizing to then get flung backwards. Even if you know it’s coming.

@blazing sail yeah, there seems to be an area just before the boat that doesn't allow closed wing flight, however, fly above the pier and you can change to closed wing and land in the boat more easily.

This was an odd read back. I must say I didn’t perceive Peter’s “rant” as unconstructive. It was honest and heartfelt, and I know many of us find the unskippable cut scenes tiring after the umpteenth time. That doesn’t mean we suddenly hate the game or are resentful about its features. I find that a strange logic. Surely we must be able to “rant” as long as we are not outright rude.

Thank you for the kind words Axiom. We know so many of you have exercised tremendous patience with us when we miss the mark, which is why it's equally important to us to make things right. This season has had its challenges with the current state of the analog world and transitioning to remote work to accommodate. Sometimes we have to make sacrifices you all never see the light of day of, which is why it's important that we polish what we do present. That being said, design vision and player expectations don't always align, and there's opportunity for growth on both sides.

@blazing sail I'm not going from 2 years of experience (Androider) but now I'm done with regular constellations, I don't go into levels to farm anymore, I go into them to enjoy the areas, look at walls and textures for things I havent noticed before and generally just enjoy the creation.
Not having a perceived "to do" list is freeing.

Just had my first try with the auto-translate option. I had a chat with some Chinese friends and it went quite well.

The new translate function is great! I have lots of frens from China, Japan and other SEA countries and I've been using a separate app to talk to them before, so I really appreciate the devs for adding this in-game

For everyone freaking out about the month+timer, let’s keep in mind that there was a gap of 2 weeks or less between the current live season and the previous and the previous season and the one before it.
They know that a new season means a lot of people dropping money on season passes, so they have a big incentive to get that content finished and released to us ASAP.
Be patient. I’d guess we’ll see an update before Monday.

it would be a nice touch if the blue water at the Ark elder provided rapid charge (like bonfire in the Forest). in desert cultures, water was highly cherished for its cleansing and restorative powers. this would fit well with the season’s theme, add a layer of meaning for the new water color, and provide a sweet recharge point for solo players.

The new update has a windwall in wasteland, in front of the krill room, so if you try to enter it slams you back. You'll hit a wall, the doorway (which forces you to watch the cutscene again), or end up back outside and in water, and still have to watch the cutscene. It's an endless cutscene loop now... 😭

Consoles have a certification process before updates can go to the public, that's why updates are fewer and further between. When we do updates for iOS and Android, there is a review process, but it's nowhere nearly as exhaustive.

I just wish a lot more was explorable. Spirit or no spirit in the area. From what you can see before the wind wall push you back; there seem to be some interesting mesh patterns that makes for some cool structures to explore. Though it being rock

thanks Peter. i have been doing the spirit charge for ages. i think this is a worthwhile addition to the season, especially with the cultural reference. also the recharge time is like 1/100th of what it takes standing at the spirit. for a 2-3x daily task, that time adds up fast

@blazing sail actually, there was one that was a pain, but I think it was mostly because of the path I took. The boat with the hollow part up high. when trying to get up to the (I think) 2nd last spirit location, I could not walk, I kept sliding down and it seemed liked there was a crab inside the boat or under the ground that kept knocking me over. I eventually managed to fly up without losing control. I must say, that like the current camera issues, the tap/hold to boost upwards seems flakey and unreliable at the moment. I don't know how many times it boosted twice, taking me beyond the quest light. I had to float back down and start again. lucky that our flight power doesn't deplete when holding the quest light.

no announcement has been made yet for when sky will come to pc. i believe sky will come to PC eventually, but porting takes time, especially since tgc is a tiny indie-studio, and for now they’re just focusing on porting to android.

It might happen earlier, but it’s to give TGC enough time to finish everything. If you’re new to beta, this is how things work sometimes. Features may not be final, they may be removed and changed many times. Patience is key. 
We’ve had times when seasons ran in parallel with Live, but lately we only tested for a week or two before release. This time there seems to be a bigger thing in development, though. Exciting!
