I think what it is is the game needs to know you “triggered” the season to work

We got a bit too... early into it. So the game doesn’t fully know we went in and did it or no.
At least that’s how I’m seeing this

I mean, if they did it going forward for future seasons and let people know ahead of time, sure. .... but making people log in every day for months to get their candles so they can get the ultimate gift and then giving it to people that didn’t do that....not very cool

It is a chore to collect your candles every day to make sure you complete the season.

These things cost both time and money

It wasn’t just about being there in the right moment, but also putting in the work

I know they said they wouldn’t do it, but I think the only really fair way to bring back ultimate rewards is by repeating the seasons

And making it pass exclusive still

That would allow people who bought the season the first time but didn’t have enough time to complete it (which happened to a lot of people with Gratitude) to still have a chance at it. And also let Android players, etc get older ones. Without shafting those who bought all the seasons and collected their candles every day.

I’d like to politely point out that logging in every day for two weeks to grind white candles is incredibly necessary to afford travelling spirits. it’s that or paying a lot for white candle packs.

last spirit was 160+ white candles cause it was an adventure pass exclusive. lots of people were unable to get the cape cause they didn’t grind enough and/or werent in a position to purchase candles. not every f2p person is getting it, contrary to what some people think

we either pay in time spent grinding, or buying candle packs

A season’s pass is like what... $10-$12 and that gets access to all spirits. To straight up BUY white candle pack of 72 (60+12 )is $72 CAD. 190 (150+40) pack is $69.99 CAD and that’s simply to cover one travelling spirit.

If we were to go via f2p route then 15-12 candles a day... it takes 8-10 days. Assume white candle run takes 1-2 hours.

8 hr work to 18 hours. Multiply that by minimum wage. For me that is $13 CAD. So if I worked at a minimum wage job at the same hours I have to spend playing sky I would have made $104-$234.

Multiply all of this by the travelling spirits that will eventually show up. It is by far... more time intensive than buying a season’s pass from early days.

I think it would be cool if the stuff from past seasons could be purchased in orbit if you missed out on some stuff but if ultimate rewards became available then I think it should be at least in money. I would actually love the ultimate gratitude reward because I don’t think a lot of people had time to finish it

I can definitely understand where people are coming from for ultimate rewards. I also understand as a new player how incredibly useful campfire is cause lol... I don’t have it and I rely on friends who do have it. Honestly all I hope is for future ultimate rewards to be just as useful

I’d rather not dwell too much on the past and split people between haves-and-have-nots.

I agree! Though as of late the ultimate rewards have sorta been slacking a bit. I don't really think I'll use the turban in the upcoming season much, compared to the belonging reward its really no match. Tbh I was hoping for a boat as the ultimate reward ehehe.

and "usefulness" may not be the best criteria. items that give gameplay advantage maybe don't match the spirit of the game so much. I usually expect only cosmetic differences. even the campfire is only superficially different than the table

and gameplay advantage in paywalled items make some people sad

Alex, campfire is quite a bit better than table. you can solo oob through ceilings and recharge solo. it's a gamechanger for solo players like me
