@primal prawn you don’t automatically have a right to beta just because you have been in it for a long time. If you’re not active it appears your account may be purged. I believe they deleted anyone who didn’t reapply when we were all locked out of our accounts last time there was a big change.

But we were also given ample time to get ready to sign up again. This time around they didn’t need a lot of new players, so the window was smaller.

I know it sucks, but it bares repeating: don’t get too attached to anything in beta.

@wanton isle to add to your question about when the next season will be put into beta for testing—beta got Lightseekers something like five days after Gratitude ended in live, and Belonging started on Nov. 11, though I don’t remember when Lightseekers ended (if anybody remembers specifically feel free to chime in). So far it’s started at about the same time the season in live ended. But it may well be different for the next season.

To reinstall the beta you just connect to Game Center/Google first so your data is safe, and delete the app. You can download it again from the TestFlight app (just make sure to not click the “stop testing” button there)

I found a YouTube video where someone posted a tutorial on a guitar. However the background is from an old version of Isle, and they claim it was during the winter season in limited live. In it they are also wearing an Eden crown. They claim the crown and guitar were available for a period of time during winter season (not part of it, just available at the same time). I wasn’t a player that far back, so I don’t know if this is true. Was the guitar ever available before belonging? And was the crown ever available at all? If not, I’m gonna try to friend them and then report them in-game.

Beta is a secondary version of the game that we use for public testing of features and bug fixes before being released for the official/global version of the game. Buying the Founder's pack doesn't grant beta access.

I don't speak for the development team, but that seems unlikely. older versions of the OS may simply not have features that the game relies upon, in addition to generally also being installed on older devices that would not give a satisfying experience to players.

it's possible, depending on the device. I don't know all the thermodynamics that goes into device construction, but heat is dissipated through the chassis, and since phones are smaller there's less surface area for the heat to dissipate through so they tend to heat up faster. Same kind of idea where a desktop computer will perform a lot better than a laptop.

@quaint onyx For sound, I've found lately I tend to pay attention to the footsteps of my avatar a lot for some reason. I guess it's strangely calming, in a way. Music is nice and overall fits, though there are times I wish I could turn the music down and just listen to the sounds the natural world has to offer :)
Love the different kinds of voices; they all seem to fit with their respective animal pretty well (perhaps except for the crab...)! Though at times call-spamming can be a tad irritating 😅
I tend to do both speaker and headphones; the latter if there are people in the room with me I don't want to disturb. I find using headphones is helpful in sensing where sounds come from directionally.

@quaint onyx about sound, Personally i’ve always listened with just the phone speaker since my phone can’t handle playing sky for long. I always liked all the music and sfx, however once i put in headphones? I liked it so much more, i could hear really subtle sounds i can’t hear on speaker. In the Valley i noticed another instrument in the race music I’d never noticed. With the final areas, i don’t think i’d ever want to play it without sound on, it always kinda hits me emotionally.

The music would cut out in the middle of a piece. Then a minute or so later it would start from the beginning. And there’s no point going for cosmetics in Beta because you’ll just lose it all when they reset the progress again

That, plus it’s a tad hard to moderate every Beta player’s activity and individually remove every inactive one. People would have to spend hours shifting through the feedback and bug report channels just to see who is actively filing bugs/glitches and putting their two cents in

And really, it's a bit unrealistic to expect every single beta player to post feedback/bug reports all the time. Sometimes there just isn't anything to report, because the game works well. Most of the time these days, which means after global launch, playing beta is related to new patch releases and/or seasons. Hence the periodic bursts of activity in beta. Before that we were actually testing out the game itself and all of its features, which meant a much more active community every day.

I keep saying this, whenever this discussion arises, but beta really isn't all that special. It's not like an elite club of players. If anything, it's hard work trying to play both versions in parallel when there are things running in both of them at the same time. And: don't get too attached to anything in beta, because you may not get to keep it.

TestFlight has a limit on how long you can play a certain Beta update, but whenever TGC updates the Beta, the counter resets

From what I know TGC always updates before it expires so you don’t have to worry

Yes, it’s a reset counter. If you for example neglect to update the app and those days expires you’ll be kicked from the beta as well. So remember to update the app during off-season as well

It's the most likely explanation of why the app isn't there. Contact Support and ask if they can reinstate you. I don't know if they can, but it's worth asking.

Well, The Valley was my final run to 9 wedges and I'm just 3 wings away..

I’ve experienced the same sometimes. Not sure if it’s a bug or if my WiFi is genuinely down at those moments but when I get it I switch to mobile data for a few minutes and then back. Have you tried opening your browser to see if things are loading ok? And force-closing the game and restarting?

I noticed you were asking for Twitter pings, which isn't even related to this server. I think you can choose to get notifications through Twitter on your phone any time a user posts. Maybe that would work instead?
