the option to buy the Founder's Pack is only in beta at the moment, and only accessible if you can get to the secret area, which in turn requires a beta cape (you or a friend). Presumably, it will make its way to the Live game eventually. But right now we're testing it and giving feedback.

Let me preface this by saying I adore many parts of Sky. Server concurrency issues and control wonkiness IMO make the seasonal spirits, particularly in Forest and Vault, untenable, highly unpleasant, and stressful instead of being fun, and they only frustrate me toward other players rather than foster goodwill and cooperation. Wasteland's during Gratitude was widely reviled already, and both Forest and Vault, while not involving enemies, are much, much worse for controls, unforgivingness, punishment for failure/retry, and sheer frustration. IMO it will be a disaster to foist them upon the live playerbase. The stickiness of sharing a flame is a deeply flawed mechanic as implemented in practice for the aforementioned issues that TGC may be unable to remedy adequately. At least give a clear visual cue for each type of interaction/location required at every step/stage (Forest's are too dark and the camera hides them), and only show future path with the camera. Please, TGC, find something that supports cooperation rather than tests it (and our patience!).

the vault and forest spirits can be equally frustrating and satisfying. high on both...i would say that i didn't like them except once finishing them i felt really great about having worked with others to get through the bad controls and mechanics

The seasonal spirit in vault... worked so hard to get it, (it’s a long winding trek, don’t you think?). Anyway, I managed to hit the light as I fell to light the statue but it became evident that I didn’t get the emote when I landed. The person I did it with managed it because she performed the emote at me. Do I have to do the whole thing again? 😫

Of course not, but as a big fan of the game it's in my interest to collect the items possible in the game.

Just like in any MMO it's often the endgame of the entire game; to collect everything, despite the creators intention of keeping it about fun. It's fun to have everything.

That's what I'm saying with how it's a lot to ask for a cape that is very similar to the beta cape @crystal fractal . Changing the inside color is cool because it distinguishes the two, but it's also a sort of a cop out.

Seems like an unprepared or unfinished product. Remember you're paying for this. As a customer you're allowed to criticize.

Regardless of "You don't need to buy it" statements, the fact remains that it's a similar product to the beta cape and we're fully allowed to discuss it. Imo it doesn't feel like a founders cape package.

The game is already out. Why doesn't it have a pattern or something more interesting? You're asking for 30 dollars.

I wish there was a physical statue you could get for a founders purchase. That would make it worth it. If it remains like it is I see it as a money raking side gig.

Because don't get me wrong; the office and the content they've released is really awesome. It was so cool to see, they brought back the cannon. Things to do and mess around with in their game. Key points for "fun". Absolutely awesome that they added their own offices and gave us such a wonderful easter egg that is both interactive and rewarding. You get to see artwork and such wonder.

But, dropping in a "hey kiddo wanna spend 30 bucks for some cape?".. seems sketch.

You can clearly see it's meant as a nice gesture and a reward for players for finding and experiencing the game and the secret area. A reward for those a little more invested in it all than others.

You're going to run through the game and wonder how people got that blue cape with the black. The blue with white one you can't get so that's alright. But the blue with black; you inquire and figure out a new area.

For me Lightseeker Season is this:

Positives:

Amazing new capes
New instruments
Especially Pan flute for those zelda themes
New hats and masks
Umbrella..? *Something else than the ugly table to carry?
Major improvements and expansion in the game world.
Bugfixes. Game feels more polished.
Secret area
You can see players without touching candles.
Fun new emotes to better express yourself

Negatives:

More candles to grind. Part of the game, can't complain to much
They want more money for another special item pack like the winter piano
Some of the content will feel repetitive if you want all the items.
Founders pack seems weird after the game has launched.
I'm really torn on the content vs the cost aspect.

Imo it's in poor taste to launch so much cool stuff that fills the world but also hold out their hand like "Money pls" because they did it. This is also indirectly because as we all agree; you don't have to buy it. But a lot of us wants to.

Also atm you can't get founders cape if you have beta cape as they fill up the same slot?

I'm sort of glad the daily quests are sort of short as well. You can't run through the game for all the 13 candles you can possibly get every day anyways. So having an option to get what is it, 5 or 6 candles a day in the season is nice. Log in and play for a little bit each day.
