Yeah, if you are connected to the internet, you can run into random other players.

You can't really communicate except to chime at each other, a little bit like using your call in Sky. It will charge up your scarf.

It's a very cinematic story based game. EXTREMELY similar to Sky. But there isn't such a hardcore replay value.

Journey is a personal preference. If you enjoy Sky, then I'd be shocked if you don't enjoy Journey.

You just collect things and go through a story. It's not as 'open world' as Sky. It's fairly straight forward. Considering Journey cane out in 2012. It definitely paved the way for Sky

Definitely do get it on pc if you have a choice; the mobile version freezes sporadically, screenshots quality is worse and the controls take some time to get used to (it’s a bit different than in Sky and for that reason it’s hard to re-adjust haha)

I feel like the Guardians are easier to hide from than Krills. Krills light detection seems to clip through the walls.

also the camera in Sky is kind of wonky and so half the time when I'm trying to run from Krills I get stuck on a wall or corner or something because the camera flipped or clipped through an object :/

I'm not sure because once the guardians spot you it's going to strike no matter what. While a krill will lose you if you were to hide behind something

Sometimes my Krill glitch out until I turn a specific way. The dark crabs do the same thing. Going through the sunken ship in the wastelands was a chore because of that 🙃

It’s really interesting how the War Machines will pull you in and knock down any structure in their way to eat your scarf regardless if you’re hiding, while the Krill when they spot you will target you until you hide away from the red light. Though it seems they’ve become like their Journey cousins and are sneaking through walls to eat your wings.

Journey is what left such a deep impression of me that several years after I first played it I ended up getting into Sky beta testing before it was released and eventually wound up here. It is a phenomenal game, and $5 is an incredibly cheap price for it

The joy and replayability of Journey is a lot about the people you meet. Forming a relationship with the mysterious stranger, communicating without words, showing them things and being shown things. There are also many fancy flying techniques whichgive access to beautiful OOB areas (although many are accessible without special skills). Strangers will help you if you are lucky and attentive. I've been playing it for 8 years and I've met many wonderful companions and seen some amazing sights which are not meant to be in the game.

And I can tell you... you should never wear it during summer, haha. I almost died. Kudos to the traveler travelling in the desert, the sun must feel like heck, haha.

How did you even make the cosplay?

With a sewing machine and the help of an online tutorial. :-D The mask is made of something called "wonderflex". It's some kind of plastic you can heat and then bend into shapes.

When creating the "coat" of the cosplay I've made a measuring mistake and the dark red triangles got too big. Oh well, at least it still looks good.

Interesting. I just watched playthroughs of it
It doesn't have that online sweet social Sky experience, and feels more mechy with a sprinkle of fantasy instead of that full blown fantasy vibe. The fish look... normal...

And there's no surfing (which I imagine would be kinda hard to transition with diving), and there's no emphasis on swimming & boating facing the harsh snow, storms and sun neither

Thus, pretty much not a wholesome ocean experience

A "normal" human/equipment would also lead to the sense of limitation in not being able to dive deep enough to the high pressure & darkness of the deep water trenches

Journey, Flower and Flow are Sony’s property so whatever happens to them now is Sony’s thing, not TGC’s 🤧 seems unlikely to me that they’ll ever get android version but who knows i guess

In reviewing this thread... I just realized... I've never heard of Cloud! I play on iOS and PC (through Steam). Is it available through one of those methods? (Also, I'm not sure where to get Flow. But, I recently played through Flower and Journey and they were fantastic.)

In Journey you have to go on a journey from a point A to point B and during the journey you can meet a companion to play with. You can only be with 1 player at a time. It's more straightforward than Sky as Journey's main focus is replayability and emotional attachment between players. You use the cloak to fly

It can seem like a testbed for Sky if someone played Sky before Journey but as someone who played Journey before Sky, it's really not the case. Both games are different with Sky taking only some inspiration from Journey

You have to collect all the scarf upgrades to unlock the white cape. Those glowing tablets show which ones you have, the blank ones are the ones you haven't gotten. The rows match the level they're in. Good luck! ❤️

Meditate's the glow circle at the end of each level, where you get the cutscenes.

I remember playing all of tgc’s games at the children’s cancer sector at the hospital, it was pretty lucky they had the whole bundle! I really liked the one where you eat organisms and grow I don’t know why, there wasn’t very much gameplay I just played it over and over but still enjoyed it lol. I couldn’t really get into journey though,,, I probably should’ve just been more patient and given it some time but like I really just could not with the endless walking having no idea where I had to go😂 I never got further than that big dessert at the start, I was too ill and tired to be searching around for things for hours,,
I’ll probably give it another try next time I get admitted though :)

Try to look for things near the horizon ^^ that’s what I usually did when I felt lost during my first gameplay. Anything other than sand is a “hey yo come here” kinda sign haha. And once you free a carpet manta, follow it. Always follow the carpet mantas, they’re good folks, show you lots of stuff I hope things are going good for you, wishing you all the health in the world

What’s flower about? I’ve heard of it just never played it before.

Flower is a game where you play as a flower pedal and eventually a cluster of pedals flying around ^^ youll be playing as one pedal, although, by touching flowers you get more pedals, making your way through the different terrain, with music accompanying you on your journey. It’s very relaxing, and maybe a bit short for some players.
I would suggest maybe watching some YouTube reviews or playthroughs of the game

But you’ll have no chance to hide once the guardian sees you, unlike what happens with krills.|| They’re really creepy (giant flying machines is one of my childhood fears), but really cool as well; just avoid going through the centre of the area and hide whenever you see one approach, and you should be fine. The last parts of the game are definitely worth it. Super beautiful and emotional

it's not on pc unfortunately, there's a prototype version as pointed out but that leaves a lot to be desired and only features two levels and the ending is broken.
you'd have to resort to gray area if you have powerful enough hardware. it remains a playstation exclusive. the original is on playstation 3 and ported to playstation 4, requires dualshock 3 or 4 with motion sensors no exceptions since gameplay is motion based exclusively. the handheld versions (psp and vita) are not fully recommended as they feature a reduced play area and less FPS than the home console counterparts

Flower, while available on pc it's highly recommended to play it on playstation or with a dualshock 4 natively where possible as otherwise motion controls are unavailable

To get the white cape you have to get all the symbols available in the game at least once, then go at chapter select level, at the place where some scarfs can be seen a bit half butried and change to white cape. It also recharges when you tap the floor 😎
