Hi there, I just wanted to come and ask, is there any plans / possibilities for flOw to be released on Steam and making a digital bundle that's like the old collectors disk? I remember owning the original one on PS3 and now that flower and journey was ported to Steam, for the sake of preservation, I think it would be pretty amazing if flOw also get ported. I also think the gyro on the deck would be great to play flOw and flower as it was intended. not to mention those 3 mini games that were included that are no longer available anywhere.

Yes, it did work for like 2 months? I did try steam input yes, but doesnt work. I'm fine with playing wired, but it's just weird to me that it suddenly stopped working.

it's not the servers, it's developer and bug fixing support that they stopped
because paying employees is costly, and if the games aren't making enough money with sales anymore, it's not worth it keeping a person on the game because they'd just be losing money

they're either singleplayer/offline or rely on p2p networks.
the epic online services doesnt have a reliable p2p network like steam does which necessitated a server
in some conditions you can connect to companions on the epic store version of the game but most network conditions need the server or they fail to sync data due to a unexpected error

Sadly yes for the iOS version >_> it can happen anywhere, and you gotta restart because it won't unfreeze (at least in my case, it never did). What helped me a little bit was lowering the quality of the graphics and/or fps in settings.

I think that's the main issue I had with the port! Something that I didn't immediately realise when I first played the game was that, when a part of your screen is glowing white, it shows you that there's a companion nearby, and that they're somewhere in the direction of the light. Companions on iOS come and go very quickly if you go too far too soon, so it's good to keep your eyes peeled for it!

It means that you missed one of the symbols that make your scarf longer. Each stone represents a symbol you can find in the area you've just gone through.

If you collect all the symbols from the entire game, you'll have a reward waiting for you in the chapter select! I'd personally finish my journey first, just focus on experiencing it without worrying about symbols too much, and then (after finishing the game) go to the areas where I have missing symbols. You can access each area directly from the chapter select, so don't worry about that. You also have to pick up only the symbols you're missing - no need to finish the game when you do that: you only have to find the missing ones. You can also switch areas through the chapter select anytime when you're on a symbol hunt iirc!

Well, and there's also a place in the chapter select where you can see how many symbols you're missing from each area, too, so no need to worry about keeping track of that either

in my experience on PC the name of a companion only comes up empty when they have special characters in their name e.g. it's written in Chinese or something (I could very well be wrong with this though). So unelss that's the case for you they probably saw your username

• You fell from the sky and don't know anything
• You see a mountain peak and go towards it
• You may find companions that appear in your journey (heh, get it?)
• Went from valleys to deserts, through ruins and past danger, climbing up a tower of sorts and went throw snow
• There are creatures that follow you, lead onwards, and eventually the top
• And the peak of the moutain is the final passage before starting all over again

Ignore all the stuff scattered along the middle. Work your way along the left wall of the area. Keep an eye on the Guardian flight patterns but the only tricky bit is right at the end where you have to get the timing right.

I have never managed to get everything in one playthrough. I think I've got all the things, but they were in separate runs through the game. It's the only thing in the game I cannot do.

Journey is a much more condensed and polished experience. About 2 hours of game, with absolute minimalist communication with the companion you meet. No way to friend the companion you got randomly matched with (in the moment, you can try to seek them out afterwards). Just existing in the moment and feeling the emotion, with a scenery and soundtrack of pure perfection to accompany you in the rollercoaster of feelings as you make your journey.
Journey has made me cry, it has that much of an impact.

Sky has similar story beats and themes, but as it exists as a mobile game and social playground, that experience is much more loose. Sky's focus is on exploration, on daily playtime, on meeting new friends and having adventures together, and on ever expanding the game to keep the sense of wonder fresh.

Journey is better in providing an immersive and emotional experience that you may want to return to every now and then. Sky is better at providing a daily casual grind and social platform.

Tower is also pretty cozy, wouldn't really consider it a separate level from UG
Snow is Snow
Paradise is just way too upbeat to be considered cozy with the exception of the ending

I do call them more as war machines than guardians, mostly because they've been used in the ancestor wars.

Though it seems they used to be cloth harvesters. I guess the ancestors weaponized them like putting spikes on tractors in a zombie apocalypse.

I have PS and could buy the Journey pack for Sky. But I looked at #outfit-requests and the Journey clothes look out of place in Sky. They don't really fit the style.

Some seasons, like the enchantment capes, have very nice similar vibes
and you can mix and match - I don't usually wear the full journey outfit, but I always got the mask for the call

they just stand out because you can recognize Journey's traveler in the full outfit, and there aren't a lot of other full outfit combinations in Sky, or hoods (aside from the hat from the newest Memories season)

'snake' was always just a fan name. Both 'Guardian' and 'War Machine' have been used by TGC at various times. My understanding is that the type of machine (carpets trapped in a shell) is never named in the game. But at a certain time in that civilisation some of those machines were used as Guardians and given that name, and that later war broke out and some of those machines were made specifically to act as War Machines, so they were given that name.

I'm unsure if you shouldn't play Journey if you haven't finished SkyCOTL. Because I played Journey years before Sky was ever released, but somehow I felt spoiled for Sky's ending because ||as soon as I saw the mountain in SkyCOTL, I knew that place is where my skid will die xox||

Nevertheless, though Sky and Journey has similar-ish main plots, I can still say they are very separate games with their own appeals.

Not really, with the game being developed for iOS first. They did want to make it more accesible though, that's why it was decided it would be a mobile game. I remember in one of the interviews with mister Chen, he mentioned one of the things that inspired them to start working on Sky, was that a lot of people who played Journey would say "I wish I could play this game [Journey] with my friends/family/close ones", as there's no real way to play together with a person of your choosing. Perhaps that's where the similarities come from. They wanted to provide a similar experience you could share with your close ones

Yes! The composer remastered his work for the 10th year anniversary.

It's very beautiful! But it also makes some changes in places that make it loose some of that beautiful nostalgic feeling of the original game soundtrack.

Had the same feeling as you while finishing Sky ( Journey was my first to play).
I really like both games - I mean I played over 1k hours on Journey idk if you can say "like" at this point, it's just pure madness love - and I'm now addicted to Sky ( candles runs go brrrr); but I had this feeling that Sky was missing some "new" things about the way it presents the story and the ennemies/realms.

Spoils about what happend in both games :

|| For example, in Journey you go on Underground City with a cloth creature flying next to you, then it pass you to wait a little in front of you. Then a War Machine appear to tear up your cloth friend, it goes offscreen then come back to patrol the area.
In Sky, the EXACT SAME SCENARIO appears at Golden Wasteland, instead of a cloth creature it's a manta, instead of a War Machine it's a Krill 🤨

When i was in Eden PNRfor the first time in Sky, I was like "Eh, might be like Journey, if I die it's fine, might be the point 🤷‍♂️ " just ran as far as I could. ||

I think that for the ones that already played one of the game, it's sad to follow the exact same path, so we don't have that fear others players speak about when they talk about Eden 😔
I repeat, both are really great games but i find sad that they're not anymore as unique as they could been.

I played Sky before Journey and when I did my first playthrough of it I was like "Okay, they just took this and put it in Sky". You can defintely tell that Sky is heavily inspired by Journey which isn't a bad thing but like you said, it did take some magic out of my playthrough of Journey since they were things I had already seen before.

In that area you can find a hidden history display, and two glyphs. One of the glyphs is easy to get – it's on the ground – the other is in the sand falls near the history display and you will have to figure out how to fly up to it.

There's nothing like that in journey but if you manage to get all the glyphs within the game you can make your character wear the white robe instead of the regular red robe

Flow is available on the Playstation store. A free version for PC can also be found (I thiiink that was just an early verion?)
Both Flow and Flower can be bought in the Journey Collector's Edition for PS3 and PS4.
Cloud was the lead dev's student project and is only available via wayback machine afaik. Someone else may have a link

In the level-selection area you will find a set of steps which show you which glyphs you have and haven't collected yet. If you complete the collection, you will find a white robe waiting for you. You have to physically go and change into the robe if you want to, a bit like the clothes alcoves in Sky.

When wearing the robe, you start with a long scarf and the scarf automatically regrows if shortened, up to a certain maximum length. This means you can fly higher and longer than you would normally be able to, which makes the game easier. However, don't look for any easter eggs or hidden areas in the game, there aren't any you won't have already found.

As said above, in Journey glyphs are like winged lights in Sky, the more you find the more your scarf is long. If you manage to find them all ( not mandatory to be in one run) you'll unlock white robe that allow you to charge your scarf just by saying on the ground.
When you manage to finish a run, your robe will be engraved by marks, so veteran players have more fancy robes than novices, tho it's just visual and there's no effect on the gameplay.

I was Jureko, a red cloak who collected all of his glowing upgrades. At the end we painted 2 hearts on the mountain and walked together honking into the white light.

That. Are you planning to wear the shoes in public ? If so, they need to be practical for wear wherever it is. The other thought is to figure out the shes that The Traveller would have worn on their Journey. They seem to come from a land which is mostly sand. What shoes would people in a sand world wear ? They would need to be boots of some kind because anything low would just get sand in it.

But they have no large mammals, so boots have to be cloth-based, not leather-based. Perhaps take some proper cloth or leather boots that suit you, but overlay them with the type of cloth you used in the cloak.

Journey is a bit of an older game, originally released for PS3, so it should run fine on older games, but I don't know how optimized the PC port really is

Though have to put it to the lowest setting just to get that slightly smooth experience

its not really optimized as it takes all the cpu for 2013 cpus and earlier

you are better off playing windowed because fullscreen is desktop resolution and its scaled, the resolution setting acts as a render resolution when you're in fullscreen

also intel graphics are not recommended since you get 20 fps or less
