I made up an idea for at least an introduction to at least one new dark creature that uses hearing instead to detect a player.

Dark Dragons can't hear us, no matter how many times we call or deep call, we can play instruments right by them and they wouldn't notice it.

So imagine an area underground with a new dark creature in Golden Wasteland that uses hearing to detect a player. I've thought about how it would work and it's simple.

Make the area have things or objects that can make noises that alert these new creatures, or at least draw attention to them. Calling and deep calling will alert them to your position instantly. In order for us to even tell if we've alerted the new dark creature, maybe give its ears colors to signify its current behavior.

Blue: is not suspicious of the player or noises that were made, safe to move.

Yellow: Heard a sound from a player or noise from the environment caused by the player, and is investigating the source of the sound.

Red: Detected a player and is currently about to attack on their position. If the player makes more noise, they will shift their attack towards wherever the player goes until it can't hear the player anymore. If you're also detected, a red spotlight will be placed on you and will move towards you if you make more noise, but generally even if you don't make any more noise, it's next to impossible to run away then, unless you learn how to dodge their attacks.

Quick Ways to Finish Chevrons
note : this is based on my playing style and observations. i have nearly 3k candles at the time of writing this so i can assure you it is effective for me

i usually start right before a geyser eruption is due
• grab geyser wax
• work backwards and grab wax from sanctuary islands
• this should knock out one chevron and the first quarter of the second chevron
• now you have 15 minutes before grandma serves wax
• finish daylight prairie cr (i recommend using chibi glitch to move faster, but if you don't like/know to do that, that's okay too)
• skip the 8p door in prairie if you're not the type to wait
• enter forest
• grab the wax from social area to the brook area
• enter grandma just in time and collect wax
• this should knock out your second chevron and the first half of the third
• i usually like to grab candle cake wax right after grandma is done
• hereon, you have two options : you can either pick any one realm and cr it, or you can wait and repeat another geyser + grandma combo (you can take the 15 minutes off in between if you dont wanna do a rushed cr although if you're aiming for 20 candles, go for it!)
• and that's it! you will end up with a little more (maybe 2 more candles) than 15

to conclude : two geyser + grandma cycles, and one prairie cr should easily give you 16-17 candles. throw in other realms and candle cakes for more.

I'm actually writing a follow up to this idea as a season on #wishlist-and-ideas-archived right now and I'm stuck on naming the last spirit. What should I call a spirit that offers a "shoo! Go away!" emote? I am thinking Introverted Grandparent but I'm not sure.

If you're farther away and you're detected, you can stop moving or generate noise elsewhere somehow and they'll eventually shift their focus.

But I'm thinking if you're near them already and you're detected, you can't really move.

The point is to make these dark creatures more difficult to evade, really. We go near dark dragons already outside of their spotlight.

This can be done in an hour and takes out a little over 2 chevrons. Then I usually just AFK in the windpaths because I like the social wax there.
