Sky 2021: Timeline of Seasons, Events, and Updates
Hopefully this timeline won't need to be updated again this year!

It should be noted that the Lunar New Year event in 2020 was not given a name and consisted of fireworks and a double heart event. The Children's Day event was a smaller event (of sorts), where they introduced the pinwheel spells.

Sky 2021: Year in Review
This post is meant to summarize the biggest changes to Sky in 2021.

If you are a new or returning player, please don't feel like you have to read all (or any) of these links or these posts to play Sky! Sky is still about exploring, expressing yourself, making friends, and having fun, but you can use this to help you catch up and get more information if you need it.

Seasons
If you have yet to find any of the seasonal areas or do the seasonal quests, I would recommend exploring or checking out the "How to get to..." guides you can find through the links below. All of the links in this section are summaries of seasonal guides made and/or compiled by Clement and io.

The Season of Dreams (Jan - Mar) introduced two new areas to Valley and was preceded by updates to Valley's Coliseum: #seasons-events-chat message

The Season of Assembly (Apr - Jun) introduced four new treehouses in Forest and cooperative seasonal quests: #questions-and-help message

The Season of The Little Prince (Jul - Sep), the first collaborative season, brought a large seasonal area to Vault:

The Season of Flight (Oct - Dec) introduced new paths between realms: #seasons-events-chat message

Candles and Hearts

A new candle system called Daily Light was introduced in March, which you can read more about in this guide by Clement, io, and cmo:

After the polluted geyser introduced with Days of Nature (0.13.3), four new Social Light Areas were added (0.15.5). Check out Yash's guide compilation for more details: #questions-and-help message

An AFK timer was implemented that prevents you from getting wax after more than 10 minutes AFK (0.15.0). Remember to close Sky if you know you'll be away for a while!

An update to the heart gifting system means that you may need to spend more time with friends before you can give them hearts: https://bit.ly/0155HG (0.15.5).

Spirits and Spaces
Instead of going to the quest giver at Home, you now get and turn in daily quests at the return shrine (0.15.0).

All past seasonal spirits are in the realms for you to relive and get their stances, calls, or level 1 emotes: http://bit.ly/SkySeasonalExpressions (0.14.0). These spirits and other quests were added as possible daily quests.

If you need help finding spirits in an area, you can ask for help from other players in the server using the new Guide feature: http://bit.ly/SkyGuideFeature (0.14.0).

Traveling spirits began selling an additional prop: https://bit.ly/SkyTSSystemUpdate (0.14.5).

You can use ts and other props in shared spaces, which were introduced during Assembly: http://bit.ly/SkyShSpaces (0.13.4). There are now four that you can find and decorate.

Other

Find the audio controls in the Settings menu to change the volume of different sounds in the game (0.13.0).

They're slow learners, but the krill finally caught on to our menu tricks (0.14.5). Make sure to hide, or get tips on dodging and outrunning krill from uma's guide: #questions-and-help message

My suggestions for krill (at least the ones in Graveyard) are to follow them from a distance until you get to where you're going or to fly well above them, close to the upper wind barrier

The one that patrols the front left of that area doesn't tend to turn around, so you can follow behind it as it's patrolling if you're trying to get to the wax or winged light on that side of the area

As for Snowflake Cape and Winter Ancestor Cape, you might have a hard time tryna find a perfect pants to pair. But then again, "cool" looks are overrated, you do you & wear what you want and pair it with what you want.
