When you see the button and click it, it tells the game to connect your account (client) to the servers. It's just there so that your device won't need to use the bandwidth unnecessarily until you tap it

Just found this message while looking for Feast IAP prices, and found it interesting

mmm I am more inclined to think they did this to “avoid” discussions about pricing, something that has been their goal since they removed projected pricing in betas all the way back in open-beta days.

This significantly decreases the reports on mis-matched conversion rates and pricing that TGC has to deal with, considering they don't have a proper refund pipeline/team in place to begin with.

It also fits right in with their responses to mis-converted prices from Days of Mischief — Raven cape (USD 17.99) and Witch Broom (USD 19.99) both priced at 24.99 CAD for instance (meaning they were both treated as USD 19.99). Many players, (including myself) reported this to TGC and their response was... disappointing to say the least. So, “presales” may be a part of the reason why they're rolling out prices this way, but I doubt it's the main reason for this move.

I think one of the reasons why I never get a good grasp of how many people play sky... Server size is 8 unless you are in a special event or anniversary zone. While you are usually matched with someone within seconds, no matter what zone you are in (except for gw battlefields), sky still never feels overly crowded... Just "not empty" and somehow serene.

Its different with other types of games where the population is more visible to players.

mmm the mismatch issue persisted in Days of Mischief 2025 because they never fixed the numbers on their end. At least for me.

It makes sense to that people have started realizing that TGC tends not to deliver on QOL, and rather take away whatever little things players enjoy in the game. With their track record, it's quite reasonable to weigh in the “malicious” reasons as much as, if not more than, a possible good reason. Personally, as long as no reason is officially stated by TGC, as a customer, I can hope for the best, but I certainly can't compliment their repeated lack of transparency or support it.
