(i also included the daily task rainbow candle cake). so i think that if we get both double candle cakes and rainbow candle at the same time, it would be possible to get 15 candles from candle cakes alone

My switch (my main device) has updated to the hotfix, and the rock locations are the exact same for today.

Are you able to confirm if you can see the cafe spirits in Aviary or not when you were reborn?

I usually have no problem with the travelling rock location. Aviary's main street was populated as usual, except the cafe spirits which seem to be an issue with this account. I will check again after I have collected some children of light

Ah, that's a current bug when loading into Aviary! It would explain why you could not see the rock in the usual location.

The rock is unlocked after finishing the 3rd quest from Hopeful Steward. And in-turn the rock is technically considered a spirit-entity in Aviary in that way.
So if you cannot see the Cafe spirits, you also cannot see the rock in its typical position.

Entering into a shop, the cafe, or one of the realms and returning back to Aviary, will allow Aviary to be loaded properly so you can see the cafe spirits and the rock in its typical location!

A bug when loading into Aviary, if Aviary is what you set your home to*

Not yet. Trust me...is complicated. Sometimes you can find for example 7 plants, the following hour 2 plants, and the following hour 5 plants, all the times sizes and colours, location, etc can change.

It is possible is too random to find a the rotation schedule. I am aware of that. It wouldn't be the first time (has already happened with clams).
But hopefully all data we are gathering may help to identify certain patterns or elements to make finding these colored darkness a bit more easier task.

I agree it sometimes feel like some d6+d12 thrown together (would love some perception and access knowledge skills to be able to help better track this plants )

finding good routes to check all possible spots will help too

caves, village/temple and floaty isles are easy to check, I'm getting better at BF spotting in sanctuary and peaks has some very up high spots that rarely have spawns too

I agree. We all can sometimes overlook a colored darkness, in particular if they are tiny, or a small group of butterdyes, btw.
But, so far, many plants are medium size and appear at easier to spot locations.
Some maps are more challenging than others, due to size, terrain and or changing of day /night cycle, and sometimes lack of good recharging spots.

You can look for the colored darkness and or butterdyes (the colored butterflies) just by exploring (so far) Prairie Caves, Village Islands, Koi Pond, Peaks, Bird nest, Sanctuary). The plants change location once per hour.

It's a topic with wildy varying opinions. In general I believe that if there's an expectation for players to go online almost daily to collect tickets and candles then you should at least be compensated for the full amount you miss out on because of server problems. Imagine missing out on a season ultimate because the servers were down for a day and you're off by 4 candles at the end of the season

Sky is a game where you usually get punished for not beong able to do everything expected in a day. People feel timegated and stressed, and being unable to do what the game feels like it's forcing you to do to keep up will upset people. People want comps not because they're greedy, but because they are literally left behind if they don't keep up

So it's more of an issue of the genrral game currency balance than just "couldn't log in for a bit and that makes upsetti spaghetti"

And there HAS been seasons where there was issues with no compensation. Many people missed out on ultimates and seasonal items. It's courtesy to give it out when the problems are so bad the game is literally unplayable

I usually try not to rant about honk spamming skids at big plants but just now in peaks one person managed to honk-bug 3 plants in succession.

What do I mean? They honked immediately after burning the plants main body and all butterflies turned white and circled them in an endless loop.

I checked my paint on the second and third plant and neither emote more honk registered any paint for either of my accounts...

I then simply reloaded the map and hope they spawn again for me

So they faded but didn't register for me as paint, only as claimed

Fr they need to make vines less anoying to burn
There was a big plant in the boat part of the caves before the stairs and the vines were on and in the walls, I had to burn them through deep honking because I couldn't burn them with a candle no matter how hard I tried

Its also hard when you deep honk and a few butterflies (not the dye ones) makes you fly up and away from the vine!

At least to each plant you get stuck slowly honking to the vines, you get another plant that automatically pops
