It's pretty good compared to other areas but usual for Peaks.
The blue-ish looking darkness plants can look very similar to whites, but give only regular wax.

Devs did an interview on this season, they wanted to dyeing to be a slow gradual progress. I think it's pointless to aim or to expect to be able to dye everything within the first week - what's the fun in that? People gotta relax and let the instant gratification feeling in check. Imo sky has been a slow grind game, and dye collection is a slow gradual grind.

If you just do the season dailies, you can get the current season items. And all the events have tickets now that make it easier to get the new event items.
Yah you need candles for old stuff and long term things, but you can pick and choose which ones you want to get.
Of course it's going to feel overwhelming if you try to speed run all the cosmetics that older players spent years acquiring, just from playing the game.

Yes, you are correct in that statement. Nobody is physically there, forcing you to grind Sky: Children of the Light. But a core part of the game (collectibles) requires grinding and dye is no different. I simply wish that this new (and frankly amazing) customization feature wouldn't be "locked" behind grinding.

And yes, there's also no rush to dye everything, that is correct (especially for someone like me who is too indecisive to try new outfits)

There’s plenty to earn without having to ever spend money if players really want to pursue that sort of goal, but the social aspects and all the story beats are completely free to everyone

I agree there are a lot of bugs with each update. It's been that way for years unfortunately. But i do think TGC has gotten better about addressing the bugs that do arise. Switch players used to have to sit and wait for a new major update, but Nintendo didn't allow hotfixes, but now we don't have to sit and wait for hotfixes since it seams they started implementing minor changes through an in-game update method.

The last time this occurred that I know of and was online was during a turtle event between 1800 and 1900 hrs pacific I think on Tuesday.

it could also be that the butterflies did go to you but you've already maxed out the collection rate for the dyes so the meter doesn't rise anymore

A few times, using the emote lvl 3 or 4 to call the butterflies help.
But sometimes I have had to use the call to get the butterflies' attention (having space in the dye jars).
Problem may be that many players seem to be straight choosing the shout instead of the emote (either pressing the icon or choosing the expression from your list or wheel).

I don’t really know anything about the dyes or the season so far but the ult mask is so so so pretty and it has a similar facial shape to my two most used masks but it’s just so much more ornamental and beautiful and I love it so much I may spend 10 bucks on the season pass

• fly towards bird caves
• enter bird caves up on the cliffs below the clouds
• Grab wl1 and exit same way
• stick to clouds while turning towards snowy peak of highest mountain
• follow instructions from @knotty ledge above
• Grab wl2
• dive down towards the lower waterfall base
• swim through the underwater cave
• Grab wl3
