That’s totally fair.
This reminds me so much of my primary school days where we were also sorted into 4 houses. The same house won every year. It just became a thing. They didn’t have more students, or even particularly athletic students. Instead it became some weird psychological thing that got into everyone’s heads. Those in the house that usually won just default assumed if they entered an event that they’d do okay-well. And those of us on the other teams assumed when we entered that we probably wouldn’t do that great, considering the history; to the point that it wasn’t uncommon that people from the other 3 houses weren’t that fussed on competing. The same house even got second every year. It became a cycle that fed itself, and a self fulfilling prophecy to some extent. Things like having scoreboards in prominent places so you can’t miss them even when you don’t want to see them can demotivate people further.
I’m starting to wonder how much of the same effect is happening here - it’s relatively well known about - so it seems silly that TGC never took it into account.

unfortunately i don't think you can earn gold unless at least 3 people are racing, including yourself. however, despite experiencing what you're experiencing myself earlier, the game still awarded me 3/3 points. maybe check the scoreboard and see if it did the same for you?

Tbf we don't know if it's something that they'll consistently do. Some hints gave us 2 and some hints gave 3 images. There's definitely a bit of lack with the social media management, since some platforms just don't even get the same posts or miss out entirely, even the seasonal spirit little bios have a habit of being late posted, the 9cd spirits were posted all at once extremely late instead of being posted seperately leading up to the season

If I remember correctly, Refuge Area Shrine works a bit differently from regular Shared Spaces Shrines. During Seasonal Quests (Remembrance) you will need to create new share spaces, and you loose access to the older ones.
