not sure what's been tested or not yet with the duets crash, it seems so far for me that teleporting to a friend who is in the sky fest version of the area is okay, but going to sky fest aviary with them and then through the tunnel (without holding hands) did not work. only cape owner went through the tunnel fine. but this was only one try so far for both.
okay update it did let me go in by myself as long as I was in sky fest version of aviary. so maybe it's hit or miss

if i'm thinking about this right, if you only get the tickets playing the tournament races, you'd still get 53 tickets, which is a lot
so you'd actually need to just not miss like 5 days of daily tickets to get the whole tournmanet crab friendship tree

a lot of seasons and updates cause bugs as is (unfortunately) the nature of the game
and while aggravating u get used to it (ik now when smth new comes out to check the server in case a bug impacts gameplay)
luckily things that are detrimental to gameplay tend to get fixed pretty swiftly coding and game development can be tricky so we have to have patience when things go awry

For the Rain Race I've noticed it depends on:

1. How many players are in the race
2. How many fragments you collected
3. The time that you finished the race

noticed that the amount of fragments collected contributes heavily to which medal you'd get as you can see from my collage race information

The medal color is as can be seen at the bottom of my sky kid. Not to be confused with the bronze stars of the team prairie spell cape 🥇 🥈 🥉

I'm a Remembrance moff and I got to Team Forest so definitely had nothing to do with the first season
And also definitely has nothing to do with the overall outfit color either since I was wearing all yellow/orange by the time I got assigned to a team (Sanctuary glasses, NCD Princess cape and Herb Gatherer outfit)

So yeah, simplest possible explanation is that team assignment is completely randomized
