one part of the tutorial was "winged light lets you fly higher" and if you get close to the first wing light you get sucked in and can't even move until you accept the wing light. so it is really designed to make new players obtain a cape (took some time to find these screenshots)

I personally loved the flight pants but rarely used them because they could never really get the attention they deserved. The aurora wings match them well and also let them show off as they are, so I've never really taken that combo off after getting said wings

ngl I find it enjoyable to see where I can go by just hopping. I'd keep a real capeless even if they made an invisible cape like you seem to be describing. capeless can't die. they have no wing lights to lose so they get extinguished but can't actually die.

I also know like a whole subculture of players who play without a cape for the same reasons. the hopping is a fun challenge and invincibility is fun you'd be surprised how many truely capeless kids there are. the game seems to merge capeless with other capeless more often than with caped kids. unsure if this is an encourage the babies to make friends mechanic or just a really nice coincidence but it's fun to find others

they have different cameras. sky's camera is basic and doesn't make any changes to the game itself to operate really. it's a quick snapshot type thing. other games with in game cameras that remove UI on consoles do so by actually removing the UI in the game. I think the snapshot thing is too ingrained in the code now for them to change it drastically for consoles that came over 2 years after live release and almost 10 after initial development started though. they'd have to add a second camera with different functionality

I think it's mainly the part of everything having to go public (for the sake of getting hearts for it) being a part of the issue. The available candles/messages per zone increase considerably when it goes from just your friends to just about anyone

I did think the memory candles would have designated areas when we first started beta testing because they were confined to a corner when it gave you a tutorial how to use one but alas they let them be about anywhere your skykid could go. it'd be less awful if 90% of the ones I clicked weren't ones placed somewhere I can't not click them and were immediate deep call spam. in places that don't reasonably require a recharge either.

I have a picture somewhere to describe height vs scale but basically get a few friends with chibi mask together, everyone wear moth hair and default stance then go stand on the landing pad at home and you'll see scale in action. differently sized chibis despite having the exact same numerical height in game

you're actually not really short. I'd say that height is tall enough that anyone looking at you without you standing practically touching a tallest height player is going to assume you're tallest

resize potions are really random. any superstitions you hear from players about how doing x or y will make you get the height you want are just superstitions with no basis in reality unfortunately. the only stipulation on a resize potion is that it will make you a visibly different height from the one you have before taking the resize. so +/- 0.8 on that scale I believe. if you're really close to the tallest height then your next potion is guaranteed to go shorter. but otherwise there's no way to ensure a specific result besides praying to the RNG gods and continuing to take potions until you get what you want. which could be into infinitity because probabilities are mean sometimes

well unfortunately it's not a joke that's allowed in this channel. if you managed to find that screenshot then you probably did see the surrounding conversation where I discussed that that skykid never collected a wing light in the first place too. but in case not: brand new players join the game without a cape and only gain one upon collecting their first wing light. if you walk far enough away from that light in the tutorial you never gain a cape. it's just a silly way to play sky since the tutorial encourages you to get that first light

it's just super fun to see where I can climb without the ability to fly. and turns out if you have a prop, a ton of patience, and the ability to throw yourself at windwalls hard enough there's almost nowhere you can't reach in sky without flying

also if you throw yourself at a wall hard enough you kinda just start glitching upwards on it
