You need to complete a red shard event, it can be in any realm. But it depends on the day and when a red one falls, today's shards were black. So far the red ones seem to show mostly on the weekends, so you could have to wait a few days before the next one becomes available to use for the quests

I only know that red shards grow on the gate 8 mins and 40 seconds before shard lands, not sure exact when sky starts turning color

Hehe, I didn’t unfortunately. Couldn’t even see them with all the dark plants so I inadvertently activated their memories while burning them. Fortunately relive a spirit was one of the dailies so I gathered her memory fragments up right after completing the shard.

my routine gets me to 15-16 candles a day, and usually takes 2 hours to complete (because of the extra waiting time i do for the shards)

best part about the wax events is that they happen every other hour which means i don’t have to spend 2 continuous hours in game i usually try to play around with me routes to suit my busy schedule, but for the most part that’s how i run!

I originally wanted to watch yesterdays eruption with my sister only, but another Sky Kid came and joined us, and I caught it from both perspectives

Well... You get 1-2candles per realm and four from daily tasks. If you have an adventure pass, you get an additional candle at home every day. So that is anywhere from 5-7candles per day. If you do this every day, it actually doesn't take that long to gather
(Though some people just buy all needed seasonal candles because they're impatient)

I'm pretty sure you almost have to play daily to get every item without a pass, so it's not always impatience, some people don't have that kind of time. :o

Some people have disposable income but not disposable time. -I don't personally purchase seasonal candles but if you're busy and overwhelmed and really want something and have the money, I get why you'd do it.

Im not completely sure, but if you play every day for the rest of the season, you can get 6 (or 7 with double candle days) seasonal candles everyday, there’s around 40 days left in the season? So 6 x 40 is 240, so you would need to buy enough packs to get about 140 candles, minus the items you already bought.
