I think plenty of people share the sentiment of not entering the contest with expectation of winning... like personally I just felt inspired to draw so I was like "why not?"

Yeah. Drawing was one of the spots that hit me worst in this regard. For reference, here's an unfinished sketch I started...in 2020, during lockdowns. Was supposed to be a practice sketch to get back into drawing. Worked on it through the summer, then stopped, then worked on it again a bit a year later.

Fast forward to now, almost 5 years later, and I still haven't done anything more on it, nor did I draw anything since until this Evil sketch I did a month ago (which was ALSO inspired by the contest). So yeah...I kinda need deadlines to actually do things reliably lol.

This is more what it's supposed to look like, in Scratch 3.0, with the line thickness rendered correctly. Previous image was me loading it in 2.0, which has a weird quirk of incorrectly scaling 1px lines' thickness to zoom on SVGs (as in it DOESN'T scale the thickness at all lol), which come to think of it is probably an Adobe Flash bug. But ngl, I think the super thin lineart when loaded in 2.0 looks pretty cool too.

You can see the difference here in how the two versions render the lineart when zoomed in. The one on the right is the correct thickness, made in 3.0, where the line thickness scales correctly to the zoom. The left one is in Flash-based 2.0, where it doesn't scale and is really thin when zoomed in (but thick when zoomed out). I think both look cool, but the 2nd one is technically a software bug lol.
