a short update!

apparently July 16th was Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day, which seemed like the perfect opportunity to take a look back at some of the huge milestones we've hit lately:

the most recent item has to be the new pixel canvas, which came to a close just last night we managed to get some amazing neuro artwork on there for the whole world to see! (a few of them are attached below 🎨 ) Especially with the discord nearly at 39k members, i think our impact in spaces like these will only continue to grow :>

on neuro's side of things, her sister evil has been making a name for herself on goody two-shoes' channel, which by the way recently hit 370k followers! that's an insane amount of support for this awesome project ❤️

seeing neuro (and family!) grow and evolve like this is amazing to me, in just a few short months she has come so far with a new model, a bocchi the rock mv, huge collabs and so so much more that i cant fit in an announcement

hello , based on feedback we’re making a few changes to moderation.

1. updated rules: we’ve improved the rules and hopefully made them a bit clearer. main changes are:

• clarifications to no nsfw posts
• spreading misinformation on purpose for malicious reasons is not allowed
• talking negatively about other content creators is not allowed
• tickets for issues with moderation (see 4.)

2. new internal guidelines: I actually wrote proper guidelines for mods to base their decisions on
3. infraction system: we've now switched to a new infraction based system internally to improve consistency and fairness
4. ticketing: I very much value feedback and we want to improve the way that’s done at the moment, so we will soon be replacing the current ticketing tool with one that works through DM’s (even when timed out). it should also allow for ticket escalation to admins if required
   mods have been trying their best with limited resources, but these new systems should help make things a lot clearer for them and in turn make the community a happier place.

The mod team has been hard at work for the better part of a year revamping the rules, and I'm excited to finally announce them!

We've done away with the separately linked document and list of subrules, instead favoring a list of main rules with concise descriptions on what might be applicable. This should make them easier to digest and reference for both users and mods.
As its core, the new rules are mostly based on the previous set of rules, so they should be less troublesome to get used to.

It's important to note that our application of the rules will also be changing. We've added a preamble to the beginning of the rules:

We strive for clear and consistent moderation, but also allow for flexibility to interpret rules based on their intended spirit, not just their exact wording. If we believe something abides by the spirit of a rule, we may allow it even if it would technically break a rule as written and vice versa.

Moderators have the discretion to issue warnings, mutes, and bans based on the severity and frequency of rule violations. Deliberately trying to manipulate the system by breaking rules will result in consequences.

This server is not a direct reflection of Vedal’s stream. Content that might be acceptable on-stream could still be inappropriate here.

It's our goal to make Neuro-sama Headquarters a looser but better-managed environment to hang out in. That being said, please bear with us as it may take some time to get used to applying the new rules, and we may get things wrong! Further, if you have any questions about the rules, please don't hesitate to open a ticket.

you have access to two commands /harpoon throw (which will kill them if it doesnt miss!) and /harpoon count to check how many harpoons you got
Depending on your type of subs you start with a certain amount of harpoons.
If you miss, the person you threw it at gains a harpoon.

Short answer? Its postponed. Not canceled! Just postponed!

It didn't make sense to do it a month away from (presumably) the new merch drop (if what was said in the neuro meeting with the juniper staff was accurate), so we will forego the halloween theme and start it up later next month. This is just me being transparent so theres no confusion!

TLDR: There will be a new art comp theme thats not halloween, but the comps sometime next month instead!

Important server announcement

Hello everyone, we're here to share an important announcement regarding moderation here at Neuro-sama Headquarters.
Lately, the moderation team has been short-handed, and due to that, some incidents were being left unresolved for long periods of time, with all parties unhappy as a result.
We discussed this extensively internally over several weeks, including consulting our head moderator: @ebon sundial, and have decided to try something new: Community outsourcing!

We've given you the ability to harpoon other users if you think their behaviour is unacceptable (or you just don't like them or something) with the new /harpoon throw command. If you successfully hit them, they lose their color role so others know of their deviant behaviour. But watch out: If you fail to hit them, they'll steal your harpoon, and they could come looking for revenge!

You start off with 3 harpoons (or 5 harpoons if you're subscribed on Twitch). Use them wisely. You can keep track of your harpoon count with /harpoon count.

To ensure the successful trial of this moderation strategy, all non-outsourced moderators are immune to being harpooned. If the trial goes well, we may consider disabling this immunity.

It's been a few months since the last one, but hopefully we can get it going monthly again!

But first, let's focus on dates. We've decided to poll for dates so ya'll can select the best dates for you!
These dates are, of course, dependant on future schedules. If the selected date is taken over by a stream, we'll go with the most voted option that's available.

The time of the event is set in place, however. We will run from <t:1776189600:t> to <t:1776121200:t>, with the queue closing 2 hours after the start.
