Hi Bedo, good observation. That tends to be the case for some other events too. There’s a score score calculating phase during which the event page is still “open” but the actual event itself is unplayable. I agree - the end date should reflect the final time by which it can be played. That would be more intuitive and less misleading, imo. Thanks for sharing this! I will forward it.

The fact of the matter is, the f2p and low spends of this game wanted a version of PoW ever since they nixed the Christmas version where we weren't being wholesale slaughtered by people with maxed monkeys and such. We wanted balanced marches, and we wanted it to rely less on what we may have purchased, because many of us don't have thousands into this game like some other folks do.
Summit will resume soon, so complaining about an off-season where a good number of the community is actually able to win is moot.

Also, no one has to "prove" anything to you at all.

Hmm Its an interesting take that the current PoW is in someway geared towards F2P. The only thing I will say, is neither take any skill really, and if anything the latter (not the former) variation of this is infuriatingly boring, not to mention that the some of the actual battles where the heroes are concerned make no sense as a win or lose. It seems that unless you use both marches, you actually lose more than win (is that skill?). The added idiocy, is linking it to an event with very minimum reward (even if it was for F2P) the amount of 'dice' or 'pearls' is more like a placebo effect.

What would you think about teams in the future pre-selecting their ideal time frames instead? Having a choice between maybe 2 hour slots of time and they could choose a handful which suit them?

So it would be sort of like 0-2 UTC, 3-5 utc, 6-8 UTc, etc, and teams could choose a certain number of those time slots (kind of like RR) which suit them the best.

It might be overcomplicating when it could just be "open up the full day"

I think the difference is that when I collate feedback at work, I am empowered to make changes. When the CMs receive feedback here, all they can do is collate it and pass it onto another team / teams for them to decide whether it’s possible / cost viable / in line with company plans to make the changes

The difference is more than that. I'm an administrator for my own business, so I also have to deal with feedback, and prior to that have about 20+ years of customer service and sales experience in various fields including at least one multinational corporation.
Whereas in each of those positions, I was encouraged to hold a varying degree of rapport with the client, in some I was also encouraged to act as a "human face" while still upholding the company line. In some cases, that was making, "we aren't going to do anything and I'm just trying to shut you up" more palatable.

You just happen to work for a better company, it sounds like.

Behind the scenes, our CMs here do actually do quite a bit, despite the jokes we make to the contrary, but unfortunately because of how the company is structured, it makes it difficult to actually see any significant changes.
Additionally, they're kept busy, so engagement with the community as per their title becomes less and less, leading to players to assume they're only here as human meat shields for the company.

Those of us who do know what the CMs do are more frustrated by the fact that, because they're kept busy away from our community, there is a lack of communication in a positive or negative sense. Also by the fact that they do feedback what we are saying and get ignored just as much as we ourselves do, only to be undermined by the GMs who are more informed by the company when it comes to certain topics.

The Developer Representative is worse than the CMs, because her only purpose is to occasionally release a roadmap which only serves to raise interest without giving acceptable or full answers. Otherwise, she's essentially a ghost.

Our moderation team, sadly, gets the worst of it because they're poorly compensated player volunteers who often have to do the bulk of the work for peanuts, and still can't seem to get answers. Not only that, they're responsible for materials and resources for players because the company won't do it themselves.

I have my gripes with how this all is structured, and I make it a point to poke a little fun at the CMs, but the fact is that it's all intentional by the company in order to make a meaningful relay of feedback and customer complaints more difficult and convoluted. And then it leads to "no feedback means it's good".

I mean, this is a company whose corporate offices are so weirdly spread out and located, it makes tracking their information very difficult for various governments. God forbid they treat their customers with any sort of transparency.
I mean... Half of the players here still think because it says they're in Switzerland on paper, they're actually in Switzerland (they're in China).

I mean... They spoof their own games through shell companies out of Hong Kong. Come on now.
