Without getting too deep into it, all new TennoGen from 2024 onwards are licensed for all platforms! 🙂

Licenses from 2015 - 2023 did not account for iOS & Android since they were not a part of Warframe yet. Similarly, TG from 2015-2018 were licensed for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, because Nintendo Switch wasn't a platform for Warframe yet

In other words, DE wouldn't be like "we want this for Playstation and Android, but not Xbox and Switch" or anything. All platforms is always the dream!

The gauss heirloom would be a no. That's deluxe skin territory, which tennogen doesn't cover. The other one... it might, with some adjustments. It needs to tie to a specific faction and the helmet is too generic.

There are technical things too

Like look at Revenant, his body topology is wonky and wobbly as hell. So it’s harder to have freedom with stuff like that. The more popular ones such as Wisp and Exal have much more easier topology to work with imo. But you aren’t wrong, there is potential in a frame for a Tennogen skin that doesn’t have one yet

Has anything been said about tennogen skins transferring from console to pc with cross save whenever it arrives? I know they cost $ on pc but plat on consoles so it makes sense if you would have to repurchase. But I’m just wondering

Cross-save is coming after cross-play, last I remember DE wants us to be able to select a 'main' account the others would 'give' their everythings to when cross-save happens - which warrants wanting to have an account on every platform in the ideal situation for maximum benefits.

In regards to the earlier discussion where some people where talking about how popularity matters for TennoGen skins; in all honesty, the truth is yes and no.
Yes, in the sense that popularity can affect a TennoGen artist's choice to work on said Warframe, and it can technically work both ways. One in the sense that an artist might be more inspired to work on a frame due to how present they are, alongside whether or not their Prime comes soon or rework and such. But on the flipside, an artist may want to work on a Warframe because of the 'underdog' interest to design something for a lesser-known frame.
No, in the sense that those items aren't being accepted because of the popularity of said item or Warframe itself. There are many technicaly and stylistic reasons for why items in general may not be accepted, and it's important to remember that before saying "oh of course (X) character got however-many skins".

There are also other specific reasons such as not wanting to work on a certain body / given mesh for a Warframe, not having a design for said Warframe, etc. so really it all comes down to preference in regards to an artist making a skin, even if it is one based on popularity (to whatever extent it is)

And roughly 2-3 weeks after that date you’ll potentially receive feedback. If it’s minor changes they are requesting they will drop a comment on Steam in a private creator section with feedback

If they need bigger changes, that type of feedback is sent a bit after the round closes out, usually a month or two from what I’ve seen but it depends on what they’re working on at the time

And then you start with the process over again

You can also request feedback from them as well if you want

I guess I will share my 2 cents about DE feedback, (Don't worry, I will just paraphrase instead of posting exact feedback or screenshots). Keep in mind I'm pretty new and have only received feedback once, however I think I have a general idea of what most feedback is like from speaking with other creators, and especially getting a ton of good info and lessons from Cobalt. The most general reason for an item to not be accepted is usually a stylistic or visual issue that DE sees in the piece. A direct example of this is the feedback me and Cobalt received with our Caleuche helmet for Sevagoth. The sculpt needed refinement in some places, as well as more hard edges, and there was also a request for alteration/tweaking of the silhouette from the front view. So the helmet needed a few changes to increase the quality for it to potentially be accepted later.

Also sometime, being too good for DE standards is a valid reason for rejection. The following piece is a good example :

If you're motivated and have the time, I would just say : go for it, try and see how it goes
Zbrush Core miss some useful tools, but you still have the most important ones, especially if you're a beginner, so you can just try and see what you can pull off, if you enjoyed the process, what people think of, etc...

and if it can help, I actually did my first few skins using Sculptris, which is basically the old crappy version of ZbrushCore that had less features and was terribly optimised, so yeah, it's a less effective tool and it lack some features, but ZbrushCore is definitely usable to that, with some dedication

Yeah even though Stalker technically has an aesthetic (even though its mainly Tenno Hot Topic), I feel like there isn't much to do in regards to altering the theme enough to allow for a great variety of designs necessarily. That's probably why DE doesn't allow for other specific Syndicate designs as well.

Like Solaris and Ostron are fine, since there are a good variety within their own designs, but something like Arbiters of Hexis and the like would be harder to focus their theme on. Especially with Steel Meridian and Perrin Sequence that are basically Tenno Grineer / Corpus, so there's already overlapping of already existing aesthetics / themes there.

It mostly depends on flexability of the designs, if that makes sense

It is possible to do split work with some creator where you act as concept artist. Grendel is a pretty complex frame tho

And absolute cheapest way would be to do everything in Blender, which is free and self-encompassing software that lets you model/texture/render/rig/animate etc. but doesn't specialize in anything as much as Zbrush, for example.

If helmet had a flap like this, it would need to be rigged to shoulders, and DE reserves rights to rig stuff to body and shoulders only to select frames, as it modifies the silhouette of others too much. Which is why, for example, both my first Ash and Ivara were not accepted (I had to rework ash and remove the cobra-like neck piece)
