Gauss desperately needs a deluxe. Even Xaku already has one, and they came a few years after Gauss
They came just a few months after, although it's still in concept. I think mostly they just go with it if there's a theme that works. It'd be cool to see Liger make a Gauss skin similar to Zephyr's deluxe.
would also be cool for Liger to design Gauss deluxe because they were responsible for the Acceltra, Akarius and the Altra Syandana (Gauss' signature gear) which means they understand his theme and design language well and can turn it into something magnificent
Anyone got any skin concepts Based off the New War Archons?
*They, It literally says in their description that xaku is a composite.
Xaku is the most they/them of all they/thems in the world
Can de not make their game sentient, it's like it knows what we need and makes sure we don't get it, been trying to get 5 atmo systems for months now
fella, wrong channel
Frankly, I think Zephyr Harrier should've gone to Gauss instead
No
On that note... I gotta track down my Corpus-inspired Titania concept and see if anyone would be willing to collab on making it. I'm struggling /w ZBrush currently, but maybe I'll end up sucking it up and attempting to work on it muself lmao
Oooo I forgot Liger made the weapons & syandana. And yeeee, a harrier themed gauss would be so cool
Yes
Corpus titania sounds rad. Osprey 2.0 hfdghdfgj
May I ask what exactly TennoGen is?
Community made cosmetics
hey, someone who actually asks what TennoGen is instead of blurting unrelated stuff into this channel. TennoGen stands for Tenno (aka the community/players) Generated and refers to any cosmetics not made by DE. It's the stuff you see sold for real money instead of plat where it also says "A unique skin for [Item X], designed by [TennoGen creator Y]" in the description. They're also marked by an icon similar to this >>>
.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask
how are these tennogen cosmetics created?
You have to be more specific
Like you want to know what programs the creators use or what the creative process is or what the guidelines are?
They are created the same way DE creates their assets, its just 3d modelling. There are a set of rules however
I'm interested in what program.
For 3d modeling some use Blender, some use ZBrush, for textures idk but it's probably a mix of whatever 3d modeling program and a photoshop like image editing program.
Most of us use substance painter for textures, because it is the industry standard, and used by DE, who has given us specific export settings for it. Some like Master Noob does it old school by hand with photoshop, but that is the only person i know that doesn't use substance.
Ah right, I forgot about Substance. I even used it myself before.
Makes alot more sense than using Photoshop
I've never read The Tempest but is it weird that I can kind of see a Caliban alt helm with asymmetrical horns? Like a "one side has a horn/monstrous features and the other doesn't" sort of thing
if you can make it match his sentient aesthetic anything is possible
A mutalist Caliban could be pretty rad. Or for the asymmetrical design, what if it was part corpus, then covered with infestation for the weirder geometry
I demand another Samurai skin, and it should be for uhm- uhhh, ahhh- sigh
Uh guys if I win the giveaway do they ship to Vietnam...?
Gauss
But he already gets one if Gauss Zamariu gets reworked for future TennoGen rounds.
Or Harrow Zamariu!
Harrow as a Shinto priest
Hi Tenno! We're excited to let you know we are adding** Leg Armor** to the list of items that can be submitted for TennoGen!
We will be updating the official TennoGen guide site to include instructions after TennoCon, but for creators who are eager to start exploring Leg Armor concepts, we've posted the details & diagram on the Forums here: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1315616-tennogen-leg-armor-pieces-now-accepted/
Greetings Tenno, We are thrilled to let you know that Leg Armor Pieces will now be accepted for TennoGen submissions! Due to the intense heads-down nature of the weeks leading up to TennoCon, the Official TennoGen Guide website won’t be updated until after TennoCon, but we wanted to share the new...
- very heavy breathing *
you probably want one of the general discussion channels. this one is for tennogen stuff
This is not TennoGen discussion.
The Baro relay is for TennoCon. TennoGen is for fans to make items to sell in-game in Warframe. 🙂 Baro's TennoCon Relay should last until the 17th, though.
Speaking of TennoGen discussion, though.... I have a TennoGen idea I want to work on, but I really need to learn Blender so I can do it well. 😮 I have a full armor set in mind (hooray for leg armor now being doable!).
Something very glassy. 😄
For a pretty good overview of the pipeline, check out Hydroxates video series on it, really helped me get going
Oh perfect, thanks. 😄
I'll check that out, too
It’s a very useful general overview
Just now?
A samurai Sevagoth could be cool
Sevagoth with extra long horn to poke people with
I grateful that the tennogen system exists and that DE support creators trough the game, this is definitely awesome.
Are glaives allowed for TennoGen? If so, do they have any special requirements?
they're not
why?
dunno, ask DE
Hi everyone, I've been having trouble translating the metals from substance painter to the tennogen viewer. From some reason they appear black after importing (and user 0 looks fine as well, looking 100% white for the metals and all black for non metals). Took the time to review every shader channel and still there's something that eludes me. I've already tried using the default material provided in the documentation and the result is very similar (tint is barely noticeable, looks almost black, even with high luminosity tints). I'm beginning to think that the difference might be in relation to the lack of a HDRI in the tennogen viewer.
I'm using the specularity PBR pipeline. Any hints on what to do in this case? Thanks in advance!
Ps. Sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this, i haven't found much in the forums 😦
That’s just how the Tennogen viewer has been lately
Assuming that’s metalness workflow? The viewer will show that as black but will show it correctly for specular workflow
Your user0 is correct though, so you should be good. If you want you can double check with another render program or use sketchfab to make sure the textures are okay
Thanks! will do
tennogen are skins
tennogen are player-created, DE-approved, sold for money, not plat skins
The channel should be renamed from "tennogen-discussion" to "SKINS NOT EVENTS-discussion"
what...because one person? 😂
i figured out my problem myself, i thought i already tried it, it was the browser
you're not the first and you won't be the last
Yep and it happens for way too much
you're like the minimum 15th to confuse TennoGen with something else
at this point it's not even funny anymore
oh man, THANK YOU, you're my hero. I cannot stress this enough, you saved me hours upon hours of suffering. I was certain there was something wrong with my setup and after checking it with sketchfab it all worked as intended.
This is the model with metallic textures being correctly displayed 😄 (ignore the base color though)
that looks sick as hell
Thanks! it's my very first try at tennogen, if it works out i'm planning on doing a lot more.
Glad you got it! Now show us the entire piece, I’m curious
I think we need more floor length capes
Hi everyone, I am new to tennogen i just wanted to know can I go creative with the body of the Warframe or not and wanted to know does this work for ash or not
When you say 'get creative with the body' what exactly do you mean? Helmets have more freedom to make changes than the body. The body you cannot make any changes to the mesh of the body.
creative like designs on body not like out of the boundaries of the body
Yeah, that's definitely allowed. If you're not sure, take a look at the in-game tennogens. Esp the most recent ones. They have changed the rules a little over time, so there are some early ones that may not be allowed if they were submitted now.
okay. thank you
If you want you could have the horns point out and slightly back with more curves and a swirly unicorn horn (but with 2) type of deal before breaking at the tip with it curving up and down?
That would give it a demonic look, though this is just a suggestion
If you need me to expand on what I am suggesting just lmk
like this?
You know what I'm thinking? This might make or break so just an idea that you can take into account but the lines in the middle, what if they're lit up to give it a sort of sauron/bioshock big daddy look? I also realize it's just the starting process and you might already have this in mind so I apologize if I'm just preaching to the choir
that's actually what I am going with kinda a demonic theme i was going to name the skin oni
and the line in the middel i want to make the energy line on them so when you activate blade storm it fells like this
Oh nice, that's an even better idea than what I was thinking!
Here it is, sorry for the delay 😛
The idea was to make a sort of ceremonial banner holder, and with it the Karris Family crest.
I like it!
||as in, Ordan Karris?||
Yup, that was the idea
Noice
Idk how tennogen works but I wonder if this will allow for more Karris attachments later on, ||I'd love to bring the glory of the Beast of Bones in the battlefield||
is this allowed or did i break the rules?
Back spikes might push the model too far from the base, it might not bake well on the model. I'd do a test bake and see if it works
sadly every time i try blender crashes i will try with an earlier model with less detail but with spikes in it
Back spikes might clip with syndanas, it's why I imagine they make back spikes circle around where a syndana might attack, like Khora's spikes for example.
okay thanks i will do a remodel for the spike where it fit with the ash back spine
i am having a different problem now every time i try to import a low poly model for the ash helemet in the tennogen application it semi appers and broken parts why
why would a syandana attack?)
I'm assuming they ment attach
#gameplay-discussion is a better spot for stuff like this. 🙂
For anyone who has their stuff actually put in the game, did you have to pay for it?
I'm pretty sure DE pays the artists, not the other way around
No you get a free copy of your item
nvm what I said, misunderstood the question
I thought the question was if the artists had to pay for their items to make it into the game in the first place
Ah. No. Tennogen items are selected from the available pool, and added to the game. The artists are paid by DE for purchases of their skin on PC. DE does not get paid by the artist for their items to be added.
What’s y’all’s expectations for this
I don't buy tennogen skins, but the Wisp and Lavos skins seem nice
tenogen and tennocon are 2 different things
I knew that after I typed it
lmao
I tried to save you
F
Yeah, looks cool 👍
The syandana pairs well with a rifle with soaktron skin
Ayeee , i hope the textures looks good as shown in images.
Kinda hard for me to get them right since warframe have their own shader. But i try.
what frame?
ash
nice
Trinity soon? 🥲
just me or is the buy tickets through steam not working (not loading)
Are you trying to buy tennocon tickets? Go to warframe.com to buy
Seems to be working fine for me. Either contact Steam or submit a ticket to #support-and-bugs - steam might be faster, since it is their platform not working.
ill wait 1-2hours then contact them if it still doesnt could be my internet but i doubt it with 500mb/s
this has nothing to do with tennogen
how would one go about making some concepts? ive been kinda interested for a while but kinda dont know where to start
This channel is for discussion about Tennogen content. Please take other questions to #gameplay-discussion / #players-helping-players
Oh sorry since its during tennocon I thought this was the right chat.
Just read the channel name properly pls
If you want to just make concepts, honestly something like Krita is is enough
But it needs to adher to general warframe shape as we cannot change shape of the body. If concept is rely cool, a 3d artist could reach out
If you're interested in full model making pipeline, my approach is, high poly - zbrush, low poly/rendering blender, texturing - substance painter, and rendering dedicated for pretty images - marmoset toolbag
alright! thank you!
i saw someone talking about zbrush earlier so i'll def check that out, and ive got photoshop already so i can use that to make some concepts
Keep in mind that Zbrush is pretty expensive, and you could sculpt in Blender
Zbrush is just superior, but also narrowly specialized for sculpting and is bad for everything else
Welp, there's probably not going to be any Tennogen made for the Wolframe lol
tennoGEN, not tennoCON
dam that took a long time to make a low poly of
Looks nice
sadly some empty faces for no reason will try to fix them
Just a small question does it have to be 8000 or less?
just curious: how hard is xaku tennogen?
Dare people to make it, Make a challenge with some form of reward (it could be anything) and see what they come up with.
What exactly is Tennogen? I've been away from wf for quite awhile and only recently started getting back into playing regularly.
Tenno generated content. Players make cosmetics which have a chance of being added to the game.
has anyone else not gotten their titania after claiming it on twitch?
A few people. please use the appropriate channels to ask, this is for TennoGEN discussion only. Thank you
Stayanax tennogen skins are gonna be pretty good I bet
we don't even know what he looks like apart from the animated teaser
Yeah of course I mean like when he comes out and stuff, but tennogen creators always come up with some sick ideas when it comes to skins and helmets
depends
if it's another Xaku type of deal we might not see any Styanax tennogen soon
As long as he's symmetrical, I'll work on him
xaku has complications with tennogen
I know
whys that? i was wanting to make a few concepts for them
mostly his very... unconventional body
his body, not their body?
Why did I see that coming from a mile away
It's not even that Xaku is assymmetrical, it's more that you;re effectively making a skin for a bunch of thin sticks, which don't change shape. There were several designers who already dropped the project because of that
hmhmm
I.e it's ike trying to make a new Lexus grille design
It will end up taking up half a car and remain total chaos anyway
i get that, and i see why itd be hard. but im looking at xaku right now and im starting to form an idea. i want to try and make a concept, at least.
well it looks to be just under the limit assuming the 8000 numbers is the max tris
does it have to be 8000 ?
i would assume thats the limit not the minimum
id have to see what that 8000 number is labeled as
Polycount (tri's)
Have any wonderful creators thought about any ideas for gyre?
Anyone doing any more dual swords skins at all? Would love to swing dual gladius around if possible. Nami Skyla for example. :)
Also looking forward to dual nikana if/when that becomes a thing.
For some reason, dual skins or scythe are still not on the list of what we can make despite being the oldest melee categories
It's probably because scythes are borderline unused and have terrible stances
Dual sword I have no idea, I'm still waiting for dual prime zoren.
Oh yeah, right,I should start making legg
Cries in Venato user
Scythe stances are high tier nowadays
What is tennogen?
Community made cosmetics which you can buy for plat on consoles and for real money on pc
Interesting
I'm making my First Tennogen.
for who?
for Nekros!
Good job, but also import his body into the scene so you can see if it fits
Does it?
Id say the samurai helmet wouldve match more to somethin like ash, excal, equinox(night), and maybe baruuk
Oohh, I thought gara at first,
It looks cool, but if I recall correctly, Tennogen cannot alter the body mesh, only the helmet.
Or is that on the baruuk mesh? Thought it was still Nekros.
it is baruuk indeed
to be honest that helm looks cool on all 3 frames
No problem. I just switched the body mesh. I didn't edit body mesh.
Samurai Baruuk could work
I agree
It did get me thinking though, like an undead Japanese Edo period themed Nekros skin would be sick.
Partial skull under the helm perhaps.
Or, stylized rather. Since I don't think you can just outright make a skull.
Somehow I now understand why this design did not seem to fit Nekros.
It lacks the element of the dead, which Nekros is supposed to have!
I am going to change the Nekros helm based on this shape.
Samurai Baruuk Skin looks unexpectedly good, so I think I will use Baruuk's for this helm.
From my perspective, I would change it up and make it more Warframe-y for lack of a better word
Right now it just reads as pure samurai helmet to me
You are mistaken. Samurai nekros would work. Maybe work on some armor and you have yourself an undead samurai type of thing
Also a bunch of us could make the base skin look amazing with fashion stuff
Yo how do i actually make these 3d tennogen models?, i want to submit my ideas

I see. So it is not necessary to complete the design with only a skin?
