I was going to suggest using Illustrator to animate the flames cleanly, but maybe you didn’t really make this graphic in the first place so that might not be very helpful.

Ah, that’s what I was wondering. You could recreate the art in Illustrator and plan out the vector points so you could manipulate them later—but I’m sure that’s easier in After Effects? I’ve never used that one myself though, so idk

in terms of outdoor environments I would highly suggest studying assets you want to present in those environments and build a visual library (The best way to do that really is sketchbooking) around whichever theme you go for, then once you build up that library it'll be easy to simplify them into one cohesive environment.
Otherwise I'm afraid a single tutorial wont do much help as environment design is a bit more complex than studying a basic art skill.

i have sketched some environments. its mostly painting digitally is the problem. like where to paint, which layer to use it in, how to make it the colour and softness i want.

the videos are sped up and there are so many layers and high level pro artists that make the art so fast i cant comprehend how it reached there even at 0.25 speed and using the < > playbacks for frames

I suppose maybe make a rough draft of the background first figuring out where you want things placed on your background, after that make individual layers doing the broad strokes of those assets remembering to name everything and group them according to Foreground/Midground/Background and anything extra you'd want inbetween, then after that you'd go in with whatever level of detail you want.

Then if you want to emulate Atmospheric Perspective or a sense of Camera Focus you have those Foreground/Midground/Background groups already set up and can edit them with adjustment layers or effects

Hey Guys. I have some issues downloading the recent Photoshop App (Desktop App) via Creative Cloud Desktop. Once ive started the download it downloads approx. 1-5% and after that it tells me that there are some downloading errors /issues. Ive tried to repeat it over and over. But without success. • You will need to erase the old number first. To do that you can use the remove tool. You will be left with a black area instead of the number
• You will need to have the right font installed (if you haven't already)
• type the new text in place of the old one, adjust the size to fit the rest of the text
• apply a new gradient overlay to this new text layer, using the layer style panel
• Use the eyedropper tool (second screenshot) and pick up the green and blue colour in the existing text and apply it to the gradient you've just created. Green for the starting point, Blue for the end point, tweak the spacing between points so it resembles the rest of the text)
  Export in your prefered file format, and don't forget to save!

I will need to go now anyway as I have a job beside being here, and work needs to be done. Don't hesitate to ask even if I'm not here. It's a community forum, held by volunteers, everbody can help!

You'd have to be able to select the thing and fill it. If a definite perimeter selection isn't working because of like open lines, discontinuous areas, then you'd probably have to paint it. Do you have an example of the image you're using?

Yeah. This is a common problem when you have open lines.

You'd likely have to paint the portions that won't fill automatically.

You're talking about a variable width/irregular border around any object? This would be easier using vector objects and with Adobe Illustrator. With Photoshop, this might prove to be challenging.

There are all kinds of ways to go with it. You could get rid of the background and do something else. This is just a few minutes pushing pixels around. If I were actually doing this, I'd spend more time on the background and matching the perspective. (I would definitely change the angle a little to make it a bit more dynamic.)

Now I know lots of people use those products for hobbies and stuff, and that's absolutely fine, but granted, they don't necessarily need all of Photoshop to do that. Some people may be good using the "lighter" version: Like Photoshop elements for example

I wouldn't know honestly, I never used C4D, except the module within After Effects, but it really depends what you want to do. I mean you can't know it all, you probably have a specilaity, a niche, you want to explore so it's probably worth exploring that niche further
For example I know Photoshop quite well (even if I'm still learning after 20 odd years), Same with Illustrator, I know a bit of substance. I have no idea about using Premiere because I don't do video. I would prefer exploring 3D further than try to know a bit about everything, software I may not have to use ever again

I don't know Canva to be the tool of choice for professionals doing vector graphics. Maybe some would prefer it over Illustrator based on cost. However, as an "industry" I would wonder about Canva's marketshare.

I've only used Canva a handful of times. It seems to be geared towards beginner and casual users whereas Illustrator is a professional-grade app specifically designed for the creation and editing of vector-based graphics.

Adobe Express and Canva are probably more "comparable"

If you're using the Pen Tool, then you're still creating vector graphics which would be the correct way to design proper logos. But Illustrator is for more suited for the work. It just has more granular control over vector art compared to Photoshop. Ps is primarily a raster graphics tool.

Illustrator is a massive tool with myriad features. Also, difficulty of an app is directly proportional to one's skills and experience using the tool. You practice with it. Use it regularly. You get better and more comfortable using it.

PSB is "Photoshop Big" format; a proprietary format. Windows doesn't support it natively. Thus, you'd need some other app that integrates with Windows to do that.

Previewing these giant files would require the app to load the images into RAM, generate a bitmap preview and cache it somewhere. Not a trivial task if the files are 2BG and up. The app needs to be built correctly. Probably also requires the machine have decent specs for it to operate smoothly.

Yes, Adobe had invested lots of time and resources for thumbnails of their many programs, then basically had to redo all of them. It’s a matter of resources allocation and return on investment. And I think that’s what prompted the creation of the file browser panel that finally became Bridge. Or they felt that creating thumbnails for an os when they could do it in a central point they managed was reinventing the wheel.

Displaying thumbnails is not a function of Windows. Particularly image previews for proprietary file formats. Windows uses icons. Windows will display the thumbnails for images that are Open Standards, JPEG, PNG, but they aren't required to parse every file format ever invented to display a preview. They simply couldn't and wouldn't do that.

Adobe could display a PSB preview in Bridge but they don't. I imagine its an issue of performance. It really has nothing to do with the OS. The fact that Apple displays previews for various file formats is irrelevant.

It looks like Photoshop and Photoshop (Beta) have updates this morning. If you're interested in using the latest and greatest versions of those (and CC is not set up to automatically update), open the CC app and Check for Updates.

Also, Photoshop Express for Android has an update as well.

I haven't checked iOS but there might be updates there as well.

Do you have a graphic tablet? What are the input settings in the EDIT> PREFERENCES in Photoshop?
I never saw something like that but it could be something to do with a graphic tablet at first glance.
Can you share a complete screenshot of Photoshop here, with layers, all the menus etc...

There is a lot to learn. Photography is an art form. Using light, color, composition, require study and time. With practice you build experience. You really have to capture thousands of pictures before you understand how to coordinate all of those things.

It's not like "one and done" type work. 85-90% of the photos you'll take probably won't be usable.

Its an art like any other. You should study similar disciplines. How does light affect the scene. How to compose the scene: angles, shapes/shape language, color theory. All of that can help you to compose great images.

You can just start by taking a lot of photos.

The theory is if you take a lot of photos, even a small percentage of them will be good. Just in a law of averages scenario. Then there might be a smaller percentage that are great.

Plus with digital cameras. shots are extremely "cheap" in comparison. The cost is in the amount of images you can store (on disk). Capture a lot of images. You can learn a lot just by doing / trying things out!

Learn more about using a tripod, adjusting your lighting (or using natural light to your advantage). That can make a big difference even just using a phone. Eventually, you'll need to invest in getting some lights and diffusers/reflectors so you can do "light design"
