My workflow is usually to create a merged copy of everything on the canvas (using Shift Ctrl Alt E). Then I make it a Smart Object. Then I apply a Camera Raw Filter.

i need to change its colour but i cant select it on the apps i have because it says the colour is 2 similar to the wall colour and it selects everything (even tough u can clearly see the difference)

What is the size of the Canvas? The document units and resolution? Image > Image Size... A common problem is that people set the wrong unit type when they create a document. For example, using centimeters when it should've been pixels. 2000 centimeters is like 65 feet and would probably cause your computer to lag when doing various operations.
