I'm not an "Adobe fan boy", in any way and will (and have) happily complain about adobe items when warranted (like the cost), but I do honestly think the* "Adobe is spying on you and ruining all of your NDA contracts" * feels kinda nonsense.

Regardless though - Do you even store your clients critical assets on the Adobe Cloud Server anyway? I know I don't. They're saved locally, as well as on other cloud storage servers instead like Workplace, Datto, Sharepoint etc . - So these aren't impacted anyway.

If Makita started hosting customer photos on their website (of things made with Makita tools) they would, of course, moderate what was being stored on their servers. They would have to! They would also need the user's permission to make a thumbnail of said photos as part of the agreement for the images to be stored there. They would also be responsible by law if someone started uploading images containing illegal content to their servers. If they just let it happen and did nothing, the remainder of the customer base would be asking why the company had such deplorable moderation of their website.

We've already checked with our lawyers, and they say we have to stop the use of Adobe products until they change things, or we could get in trouble.

We're working on new stuff that other companies would love to know about, and we can't risk them getting that info because of software we use. It's like the guy in the video said, it's supposed to be a tool not monitoring what we do with it.

I agree with some of what you said but at the same time, it’s adobe’s service you are using. Although we may not like their policies, it’s up to their discretion. If you are concerned about not breaching these NDA’s i’d advise to take your ps/adobe suite products completely offline from the internet. While yes you lose access to some features such as cloud selection, generative tools, it would allow you forego these concerns. If that is TRULY something you are unable to do, I would advise sitting down with your clients and making them aware of the reality at hand.

I miss the days when we could use our software offline, just like when we used to own it outright after paying for it. Unfortunately, nowadays everything seems to require an internet connection, and if you're offline for too long, they deactivate your access.

Our temporary solution while we search for viable alternatives is to utilize MUCH older standalone (CD) versions of the program. However, this approach isn't effective for all files, as some require the newer programs they were created with just to open. While I don't support it, it almost seems like they're encouraging piracy. Many are now arguing that if buying is not owning, then piracy is not stealing... I can see their point now

There are definitely ways around this haha, even with the latest versions. You will just have to download a program such as LuLu that effectively blocks the photoshop mode from communicating any outbound traffic with adobe on server side. As to the pirating, adobe doesn’t really care that much when it’s for standalone users. in fact they encourage it. You being with a studio is a bit different. I am not saying anything outright, but If you catch my vibe; I stopped supporting the subscription model a long time ago. @wise ether

I don't know of anything that will do that at the moment. I know there are research papers about that and labs are working on AI solutions for that. However, not sure there are apps you can download to do it.

Photoshop Gen Fill might do that someday but not right now. :)

Most AI models still have problems rendering coherent text and characters, i.e. letters, glyphs.

While its getting better, its definitely still an issue.

Its not really the text per se. Its rendering tiny details with coherence. One word, somewhat large in the middle of a 1K canvas many AI models can do that, albeit not always with the correct spelling. But if you attempt to render small text in a tiny area of the screen, it just looks garbled.

You would start by locating all of the assets you're going to use for the composite layout. Then removing the backgrounds from each asset so that the objects can be positioned inside the canvas. If you're not familiar with Layer Masks, I would also get familiar with removing the background using a Layer Mask. Once you have those tasks completed, you can start positioning the objects and building the artwork.

The tutorial that was provided above might help. That one is going to require that you learn the Pen Tool to make selections which may be difficult for a beginner but is a good thing to learn.

You can do that with Adobe Express, which browser based (but also exists as a phone app if you want to)
I personnaly use Pinterest (I know it's not a program) and I have an add on on Firefox, which means I can "pin" anything I find online directly (no need to download of anything)
You'll find most specific moodboards solutions are in fact web-based.

Some people use Pure Ref, although it's not strictly a moodboading app

There is also InVision, same, not strictly a moodboarding app but can manage it

Be mindfull that those are paying solutions (Adobe Express has a free option)

But you could also build a simple photoshop grid template and put your images there, or maybe create libraries and visiaulise the libraries in the CC app, these things are ready at your fingertips if you don't need any bells and whistle

Since I am not going to watch 15 minutesof the stuff I just scrubbed through it and for waht I see they use brushes and traditional drawing techniques. Nothing specific to Photoshop (unless you want to know a bit more about creating and using brushes)

Things that can be taught in typical drawing classes like how to place shadows and highlights etc

People who do that kind of things are very likely to know how to draw with pen and paper as well. There is nothing Photoshop can do on its own (bar adding effects like gradients and halos that would take ages to do it by hand) but the core business is the skill at drawing.

I think it's mostly an infortunate use of language at play here.
Any company that hosts files on their cloud (Apple Cloud, DropBox, WeTransfer, Adobe) have - by law - the right and obligation to check your files (and possibly to forward them to enforcement officials when legally asked to)
I think the new wording makes it clear what they do and what they don't, but it was very much in line with what everybody has to do.
If you don't want anyone to access your files, don't use the cloud.
As one wise guy named @river furnace once said "You realize the cloud is just someone else's computer, right?"

The trouble is also that Adobe required people to accept those terms, whereas before (and most companies still do that) those terms were implied, in that you tick that box when you lauch the program first time.

Use the Polygonal Lasso Tool and draw around it. Also, when its selected, apply a Layer Mask. Then pixels are hidden instead of being erased permanently. Then you can bring parts of the layer back in if you make a mistake.

You could also draw vector rectangles and "clip" the images to the shapes using the Clipping Mask. This is a slightly different approach but the same idea.

I can select everything just fine, my issue is with the sudden disappearance of pixels INSIDE of the selection when I delete the background

I've already said: use a Layer Mask. Its a non-destructive operation that allows you to bring pixels back that were hidden... either by accident or deliberately.

If you delete them they're gone and have to be brought back using UNDO.

here's something that confuses me a little however, whenever you clicked on the layer mask option, all of the pixels inside your version were still there, on my end the same pixels I highlighted disappeared

im confused to as why whenever I did the same process, my outcome was slightly different

I don't know. Generally selections remain active until you deselect or engage a selection tool again.

It doesn't really matter as long as you used a Layer Mask. Now the thing is editable and can be fine-tuned.

If pixels disappeared that you want back, select the layer mask by clicking on its thumbnail in the Layers Panel. Then get a Brush Tool (probably hard round brush) and make the foreground color pure white and paint over those areas.

You just paint over those areas with white (on the mask) and those pixels that dropped out should come back.

Seems like a lot of effort for just a tiny image. But this will come in handy later on and/or in other projects.

If you paint with pure black on the mask, pixels will be hidden. Values of grey in-between are varing levels of transparency.

It's in colour, but's rather easy to remove them in Photoshop

If you want it as a vector file (that's how logos are done), you can use the autotrace function in Illustrator, and you'll also be able to remove the colours even easier theere

If you don't have illustrator but want it made a vector, you can use the digitising option in the capture module in Photoshop, or trace it yourself over using the pen tool for more accurate results

To replace the wrench with a hammer you can combine them using Photoshop or illustrator once digitised
