That is the original. Actually, the original was scanned into a large PDF that I exported the pages as TIF (lossless) to use in Photoshop. The person doing the scanning could have solved the entire issue as some of them came out perfect. I just cropped them, Applied the Black and White filter, Applied the Threshold filter, and then converted to Greyscale. The Raisin Bread one above remains a real pain to fix. Thanks again for your time and help, sorry for the delay.

I was hoping there was someone here with a good grasp of color tools in Photshop. I have this image (and 9 others like it) that I want to cereate masks for the different parts based on their colors. I'm not afraid to work on ten different layers of copies of the image that have been changed to isolate a color so long as in the end I have each color masked out. I have tried Gradient Maps (noise) and HDR toning, curves, posterize, threshold, select Color. Does anyone have any idea how to do this better? Thanks in advance/

I'd make a new layer and trace over them. Either with a solid Brush or, I'd likely use vector shapes if I wanted to make perfect/clean objects.

You can attempt to make selections and fill them. However, the better way would be to do it by hand. But I guess it depends on the quality you want.

From this image just duplicate the layer and position it exactly on top, so the 2nd version of the gradient line is on top of the first white line, then rub the bit out on the 2nd line where you're ant it to go under it

Use the pen tool to perfectly take that piece out

That's if the rubber isnt as good

Locate (or make) the 'dripping' image and use it as an overlay Layer. Audit the various Blending Modes to see which one works well for your image. In my case, Linear Burn, worked well but others may also be desirable.

This didn’t really help with what I wanted. It’s not about the stroke it’s about the color. When you make a color gradient it tends to just color the entire group instead of alternating color like one note does

You can edit in your own way. I created a color Surface and choosed a color. After that, I make a Mask around the Red Border. and In the Setting Panel I smoothed out The Mask. So, you have full Control about the Fading, also, you can transform the Mask smaler, when you need to

If you are scaling the image down to half its original size, yes, it will lose quality.

That's how raster images work. You're removing pixels when you scale it down.

Content Aware Fill doesn't work on Smart Objects. Only pixels (rasterized objects). You would have to dbl-click on the Smart Object (in the Layers Panel) and open it up in a new tab. Edit it. Then save and close to go back to the main document.
