Honestly, most photos need editing. Doesn't matter what sort of camera it is. Learning Photoshop or just Lightroom is a good skill to have if you want to make great images.

What size if the document you're trying to make? A common mistake is people set the incorrect units, e.g. 2000 inches/centimers when they mean pixels. This can cause big problems.

I don't have a specific font in mind, but usually they use ones that are a bit thick and then they use a color that contrasts the background (usually yellow, green or red) and have a black outline of each letter so it's easier to read. I like the font Segoe UI, but I don't know how well it'd look here. It's worth a shot though! The absolute most important thing for readability are the black outlines in each letter

In my opinion even if your channel isn't solely focused on Fortnite content, you could add "Fortnite mouse only challenge" in the title, but leave only "Mouse only challenge" in the thumbnail. Unless - of course - you want something else for the title. In that case I guess you could keep the "Fortnite" in the thumbnail.

Let me get you an example of what I believe is a good font for a thumbnail

Sure - quickest method or method that most pros use; consensus.. for example remove background rarely removes all of the background in my experience (even if it's just pure white) so I have to go over it with the magic wand tool. Something like GIMP's colour to alpha would be preferred.

A clean way of doing it.

you could use a glow effect

you could change the color to be a greater contrast

look up what colors go well in contrast to blue or whatever color is the most present in your thumbnail

also i wouldnt lower the oppacity of the font, that will automatically make it look less apparent, instead try just overlaying the lightnings so you still have them there but not at the cost of the font oppacity

you could also create a little arc for the font to make it stick out a little more

maybe scale it down just by a little bit, so it fits better into the tumbnail, just like 3-5 percent

and finally you could use a different font, if you wanted to

ALT-click the Layer Mask in the Layer Panel. This should give you direct access to the mask. Apply the Blur. Then ALT-click the Mask again to exit out of that mode...

There are various way to go about it. It really depends on the goal and look you're after. You could make a selection and then Ctrl J to jump those pixels to a new layer. Then apply the Blur to that new layer.

Or you could convert the layer to a Smart Object, apply the Blur and paint on the mask for the Smart Filter so it only affects that area.

I think i found why the blur wasn't working, I have made two copies of the main base layer at some point and I was trying to add the blur to the lower hierarchy layer. Now I have hidden that layer but found it was hiding a mistake i have made eariler, is it possible to remove these white lines that I must have put on my image eariler by mistake?

If you can't "Undo" or go back in the History Panel to restore them, you'll have to "repair" them by selecting, filling/cloning/painting over it...

I fixed it! I substituted the original photo into the project and before I did that I added the blur in using the command + J command and added them into a folder which i pasted into my main project

hi hi, I have an unrelated question about open office, if anyone uses that please? It's about the layout.
In the view menu I can choose between print layout and web layout, and I am looking for more of a mix between the two. I love how there is no separation between pages in web layout mode, but I really like the background application color in the page layout mode.
Is there a way I can remove the page separation without removing the application background colour on the sides?

The settings window looks the same as MS Office, so maybe similar instructions

Quick question, what are you really doing with this image and where exactly are you using it? one more thing, where you got this image from? because it really is a Low-Res image. And where are you really using it? I'd recommend you to look for another image. this image looks really blurry. And if you like this one, then you should recreate it for better output.

Hi, I need help

I have this project where I need to create a filter with distortion so it's blown up around the fishbowl

But

When I open the photo correction filter tab. It doesn't focus on a single artboard it uses all of them? Even when I delete all the artboards I can't get the Artboard one in center as it is. It will include the out of bounds pixels too and I dont want it. Say I do Crtl+A on artboard one I would want that to be the work area the filter works in

But photoshop wont let me

Why cant I center this or redraw the work area?

The distortion needs to be in the middle of the canvas not the screen

Im working on a pregnancy skin tone on Ps for my game but it’s going horribly wrong

What color was the original skin tone? Can you share some examples of what you are trying to do?

Did you select all of the skin exposed areas and mask them off so you could easily adjust just the skin? Then you can add a layer and fill it with your new skin color (placing the layer above the masked skin) Then try different blending methods like Overlay or Color or Hue to use the existing skin details (like shading and such) but colored the way you want them. Also, mask the color layer but perhaps make the mask 1 px thicker than the skin mask to help the original skin from sneaking in around the edges.

Does anyone know of any way to select "any continguous collection of pixels that's smaller than 5px" or something like that? I have a bunch of handwriting on a graph paper, but the graph paper remnants show trough as faint lines that I can't seem to easily select. I want to say, "select all the small or skinny stuff" but not sure that's possible.

Thanks not only for the explanation, but for taking the time to give examples. The problem that I am having is that some of them are written in blue ink, making the separation really difficult. Second, even if they aren't written in blue ink, this method leaves rough text. I I would have to spend as much time going back to smooth the text as I would manually erasing the bg. Also in the Image>Adjustments>Black and White filter, you can drag the blue and cyan sliders to the right (white) to eliminate the blues pretty easily...but still its a problem with blue ink. Thanks again, I appreciate your help.

ipad is great because it has apps and it's useful for lots of things. The Kanvas Pro does none of that. It's not even in the same category. If you are wanting to draw professionally, the Kanvas is miles ahead of iPad, but you can't run anything on it without it being attached to a video source. Seriously think of the Kanvas as a monitor that you can draw on. That's it.
