this image looks a bit low res. If it were me I would re-create the outer rainbow rings in PS or Illustrator (which has cleaner/vector lines)

Yeah, I agree with Caity - the low res adds JPG artiffacts and some blurry bits. - However, if the end goal is to have a file the same size as above,,,, you're probably wasting your time since they'll likely come back when you save at the low res size.

Nah, file size doesn't matter, the goal would be to just have the same resolution, but just clearer.
And true, I'll just recreate the entire thing, I was just wondering is there was some "tool" that could fix these type of issues.

What does this mean 'the project got deleted' ? Was the file closed or did Photoshop crash? Please elaborate.

If the file wasn't closed, you could look in the History Panel. Window > History... to see if any of the steps were saved there.

The amount of History States that are saved are determined by the value set in the Prefs. Edit > Preferences > Performance > History & Cache... I have mine set to 256. Yours might be set lower.

If you can't step through the History in the History Panel, its likely gone and you'll probably need to redo whatever it is that you were doing.

Save often and if you're not certain about the direction you're going in, save different versions of it. For instance: file-v1.1.psd, file-v1.1a.psd, etc.

Hello, i'm trying to make another layer properly with a ctrl, shift, T command on Windows 11 but whenever I do it it doesn't appear properly for some damn reason. Professor does it properly but I can't from his recordings. It's driving me nuts, it doesn't appear it as I want i to.

It just adds it more on top while without making the lorem ipsum copy by itself

Copies and new layers are always added on top of the selected one. If you want to change the order, you have to do it manually

search up "nvidia control panel" and see you have "Set up G-SYNC" in the side bar

if you have it try, and disable it if you dont have it then you might have to roll back, ill do a little more searching in the meantime

In your version, the font was just a bit too big/bold, bright and obviously 'photoshopped in'. - My version is (subjectively) more subtle, I matched the same colour as the previous text, and it follows the same perspective as the previous original '1994' number.

It's also got an 'exclusion' effect on, which helps show some of the texture of the wood to show through the paint....

I have no idea what 'exclusion' does, but I just went through the blend effects until I found one suitable.

There wasn't a 'quick fix' for it, so I ended up hand-tracing around the edges...

Also, since the top of the spinning wheel contraption went off the top of the image, I took a little creative license and 'chopped off' the top of the wheel.

I had that problem once a few years ago, didn't have time to troubleshoot so I just used a different version of PS (I have multiple versions installed for teaching, testing, etc. w/o issue).

Is the Brush Opacity something less than 100%? Or are you using a drawing tablet and a brush with Pressure Sensitivity set on the Transfer?

it is set to 100% opacity but I am using a drawing tablet, it might have transfer on pressure sensitivity. I looked around at the brush settings (like turning control from pen pressure to off) but I don't think that's exactly what you're talking about

Check: Brush Settings > Transfer > Opacity and Flow...

Its probably set to Pen Pressure and thus you're getting that "build up" effect when you paint overtop of previous strokes.

You could set it to "off" or you could just press down harder when drawing, I guess.

best move is to probably use the color selection tool to select the inside of your lineart. Then go select > modify > expand and expand the selection by a few pixels so when you fill it doesn't leave a white band around the perimeter. Then just use the bucket tool to fill the selection with whatever color

then you can make a layer mask or turn lock transparent pixels on so you can only draw on the flat color layer

expanding the selection is tedious, so you can record the expansion as a macro, they're called actions.

okay there are a few problems here. Firstly, you're drawing everything on the background and not adding any layers

you'll want to make a lineart layer, and then make a layer beneath that for the flat colors so the coloring is beneath the lineart

if you want your color to not be so opaque, you can either use a brush that has opacity (look up soft brushes vs hard brushes), or turn the opacity of the flat color layer down

the black lines in this crystal I drew are all on one layer, that's the line art. What separates the forms from one another

you don't need line art, especially in paintings there's typically no lineart at all

but the blue color is all on a layer underneath the black lineart. So I can color the blue and add shading and other effects without changing the black outline

you can do that if you want. Or you can have lineart all on one layer

for example if I have an environment with characters, the lineart for my environment and the lineart for my characters will be on separate layers

• Mask out bird and box
• Clip empty or solid color adjustment layers to bird layer and paint on them changing blend mode of each of those layers as needed

I use solid color adjustment layers and paint on layer mask as it makes changing colors quick and easy. You can also paint on an empty layer, then use adjustments to change colors... still works, just more steps.

So Photoshop has this concept of 'Layers' and they can be used to 'stack' objects (pixels, shapes, text etc) overtop of one another.

each object/image/part is it's own layer. these can then be turned on and off as needed...

If by 'the writing stays' and the image is removed, you mean something like the attached image, you would use the text to create a Layer Mask. The mask essentially hides everything except for areas where the text was placed.

If you mean something else, feel free to explain exactly what the desired outcome is.

create a new layer make sure you click on the second layer and draw on it then you’ll be able to delete the bottom one without the line art disappearing

If you're using the file example that I made, you could just turn the Color Fill layer off. Then export to PNG 24. File > Export > Save for Web... Choose PNG 24 and tick the transparency checkbox.
