Really hard to say... Your image is too tiny but yes big part on this effect is gradient (ther yellow bar).
I think there is also a bevel and emboss fx .

There is a way... but a bit tedious... Use channels. Check this short video. (I transfered the mask of the red file to the blue one)
You need to have your two documents open.
In the one with the mask go to channels panel> Right click on the channel generated by the mask> select duplicate> choose the destination (the other file) => The channel is copied in this file. So you can use it to create a selection (Ctrl+Click on channel thumbnail) > and back to layers panel you can change the selection in a mask.

Best tips I can give you (even if it's too late for your project) : plan your project before to start,
build your frame in order as much as you can, don't resize your project in progress 'cause you can resize it at the
"Save for web(legacy)" step.

Hi James, my understanding is that 100 to 125. DPI is fine for large format printing. The variables are the viewing distance and the resolution of the banner printer. Since it’s a stand, it could be viewed quite closely. Hopefully some others here will have some thoughts. E.

Two questions. I have a small and a large SSD. PS is installed to the small SSD, but scratch is set to the large SSD. Nonetheless, PS keeps using the small SSD for scratch; despite being configured otherwise.

I made poster that has around 100 layers. The PSD file is 300mb large. I need to export to .PDF.
If I merge all layers before export, the PDF is 45 mb large and exported instantly.
If I dont merge; the export takes a couple minutes, PS adds temporarely 35GB! to my ssd, and the PDF is 140 mb.
I unchecked "ratain photoshop modify options"; whatever it is called in english. Why is this?

The main scratch discs is set in prefs, but some functions seem to use the install drive, such as smart objects, and maybe the compression of PDFs.

Preserve Photoshop editing abilities allows you to re-open and edit the PDF in photoshop. I usually save a PSD for that goal, as it keeps the PDF leaner.

For the OP: You may want to upload your images as an album either in Lighrtoom on the web (this album can be share with others) or something like Google Photos if you don't use Lightroom.
There is no automatic solution if you don't use Lightroom, the quickest would be to create a library and upload all your edited photos and share that library, but your friends will need an Adobe account (even a free one)

Otherwise, Facebook photo albums are made for that

I see you are selecting with a rectangular selection rather than selecting the characters individually. Trying selecting the characters by themselves then grow your selection by a few pixels, enough to give yourself a little extra room so you don't have edges. Then trying generative fill with no prompt at first. If results are not what you want try prompts like " remove and fill for seamless background" . You are also able to utilize a clone stamp here

This happens because semi-transparent layers tend to look less vivid or washed out on dark backgrounds. If you’re only noticing this issue with a black background, try using a lighter background while animating. You can switch back to black after you finish the animation work.

when i transform for move pixels it goes 1px right? like it should but then when i ZOOM and i do transform it only moves 0.02 instead of the whole 1 px how i can change that ? to ignore the zoom transform becuase in cs6 that thing wasnt there in the first place if you zoom was just a zoom and the transform moved 1px regardless with the arrows

(It will sound confusing at first.) You can create new paths and/or shapes as a path - or as a shape.

The dropdown field on the left in the control bar is responsible for this. Select "Shape" there and you will get the desired result.

So each color of your texture is on a separate layer?
When you ask for making more transparent lines: do you mean lines where there is no visible color/texture below or you can see color below through the lines? Are you talking about black lines only?

Ooh so currently it's just a flat 1 layer. I tried the solid color that you taught me and what happen was is that the details were gone so I plan to make the outline transparent so that I can change the color using solid color while still having the details.

Though as I mentioned if there's a better way to change those colors efficiently I am open for suggestions

Basically what I plan to do it retexture this character and change the color. I'm currently working on the shirt part and if there's an efficient way to do so I'm willing to learn.

You could try to make a selection of each section you want to change color (one selection for blues, one for beige, one for reds…etc) then create a Hue and Saturation layer with a mask made from your selection.
(1 Hue/sat layer for each color or section with the corresponding mask)

If you have one, then I recommend InDesign (then nothing for a while). Illustrator would then be my second choice among the Adobe programmes. (Photoshop then comes in at about 15th place)

If the results of retouching (or using the repair tools) are not satisfactory, as in this case, then it is usually better to recreate the structure. I created a small pattern tile, filled the image area with the pattern and overlaid it with a colour gradient. Then I simply masked the edges and copied in the small light areas.

(Maybe the original file has a better resolution, but it wasn't available here)

Camera Raw is not necessarily a format itself but it refers to RAW photos. Just using it doesn't necessarily transform your file into a DNG or any other format. It is frequently used when importing RAW photos from a DSLR, professional camera, or any iPhone Raw images alike.

This being said however, you are still able to utilize it on any layer or photo type you are able to import into PS. It allows for a VERY diverse fine tuning of images. Adobe even has presets for hundereds of cameras including iPhone models for lens correction, color, etc. Almost every professional photographer will utilize Camera RAW if they import to PS

I think there is lot of empty text in your text box... Your bonding box should be like mine (bonding box is the blue outline)
double click on your text and try to delete empty space after the last word of your text.

looks like to me the red background was made using multiple layers, the first one being wider, was used with a gradient fill the 2nd one being slightly narrower also using a gradient fill

you can double click on the thumbnail > Gradient fill window will pop up > you can click and drag you gradient to move it or play with scale to affect the strengh of the transition. You also can click on the mask and play with feather settings to soften the edges as you want.

Here a psd file quickly made and a short video to illustrate my explanation.
Easiest way to work here (I think) is with color range selection then Apply a Hue and Saturation adjustment layer to your selection (tick "colorize" option)
Video show you how to proceed with purple color (you'll have to redo the same for each color you want to modify).
Note: Hold shift and click with the eyedropper on different shades of the color you want to select then use Fuziness to fine tune your selection.

Not sure to understand your question. Whether you use "File > Save As..." (for saving.psd files) or "File > Export > Export as..." you should get the option to choose where to save your file via File explorer (Win) or File Finder(Mac). If you are using "File > Export > Quick Export as PNG" go to your preferences > Export and tick the option "Ask where to export each time" to be asked and choose where to save with your OS file explorer.

PNG-24 is the best; you'll always loose some quality but how much you lose depends on what format and compressions you use, etc

Not that I know of, if you have a graphic tablet with express keys, you can assign CTRL++ or CTRL+- to the roller for example, or if you have one of those mice with an extra wheel button you can assign (think Logitech MX etc) then you can do that

Keyboard shortcuts can only control the keyboard in Photoshop, not the mouse

It's really whatever works. If I 'm not retouching (as in brushing/stamping etc) and I don't use my tablet, I'm content with the KB with CTRL+space bar as well. I mean there are lots of shortcuts, and they are there to cater to everyone.

If I'm working with Fresco, I will always use my tablet and have the roller set to switch between rotation and zoom. In photoshop, I have set the same settings (even if I use canvas rotation less often) having the possibility to have the same shortcuts/tablets settings on multiple software helps with the muscle memory. Now I wish the scrubby zoom was available in all Adobe software, I got used to it!

I would just use the remove tool for the handwriting that isn't blocked by the stamp; for the handwriting near the stamp you may have to use the magic wand to carefully remove it
