I can't help you then. those were my "lil 2 cents". get in touch with the support or wait for one of the experts around here to answer you
Yeah, your cavas isn't large enough. There literally aren't enough pixels to render it clearly:

See a previous analogy of mine here: #❓ask-a-question message
Yes, you can use the 'Warp' Features to do this.
How big is your image/Canvas?
Most people who have this trouble have accidentally made their empty canvas insanely huge buy mistake. - eg. 2,000 inches instead of pixels.
I'm not getting the same issue, how are you selecting the treeline?
How are you setting the image/canvas size?
Hey, make sure to share the paiting if/when it gets done! 🙂
I used object selection tool to select the sky, then I masked and inverted that, thats when I get this weird feather.
Seems a little strange. Would you mind sharing the original image here? (or via PM) and I can try it?
please
This isn't a 'Job' server as such, so there are better places online for this sort of thing wither better payment systems and processes. That said, feel free to try your luck in #💬chat-general
Mines not that bad:
1200x1500
cm
That's your problem then.
That means you have a canvas 12m across.
What are you trying to make? Just a picture for the internet?
a picture
a sports poster
An A3 poster, would be about 30cm x 42 cm.....
Instead of 1200cm x1500cm.
You change the size and I promise you, you won't have any more scratch disk errors.
seemed to have reduced it abit, think it may have been a formatting/colour profile issue. Thanks for helping
is there a way to record just the artboard , i want painting timelapse
What program are you using to record? Can you isolate a part of the screen in that software?
ps does not have anything for recording?
i think procreate does and I thought ps did too , guess i will get some app
Are you on a Mac? If so, QuickTime comes with it.
ye I will use that
thank you! now i gotta convince him he is good enough!

I use ShareX on PC.
Just using white radial gradients is a good start.
Hey! I just got a new PC and I have tried installing photoshop, but due to my low amount on c drive i cant install it, however i did move the install location on my preferences tab to my drive that has over 1 terabyte left?!
Oh, I forgot the last bit.... play with the blend modes. Maybe Pin Light
You can absolutely install Photoshop on a different drive.
However, your screenshot is talking about default location for downloaded assets, which is different to the installation location.
yeah i just fixed it i feel so dumb, got premier and photoshop working! thanks!

Hi
I have access to 1 To of Adobe Storage through a folder "Creative Cloud Files" on my computer
I heard this service will be discontuined, what will my folder become?
Is there a service that will continue to offer this storage offer separately?
thx
Hi Pierre, (from another Pierre) this storage tier is usually used for your online Lightroom images storage.
Hi, you can change the type of warp, IIRC, it is the arc lower, and you need to change the bend upwards.
Ah, missed that.
I thought Adobe Creative Cloud Sync for teams was a bit stupid anyway.
My colleague creates a bunch of video files for a client, and then the sync software DOWNLOADS those files to my PC, to help me stay 'in sync' with his files? This alone was a reason we never used it. - I want access to them on the cloud, but I don't want it to waste my bandwidth and PC storage space in the meantime.
Hi, I’ve heard that some use the new window function in Ps: window>Arrange>New Window for documentname, move it to a second screen, and record it, this way, there’s no tool, and you do not have the zoom changes that can be problematic when speed up.
Oooh. Yeah, a seperate window on a different screen means you can record it without the constant zooming in and out! - Smart idea 🙂
And, in addition to the excellent explanation by James, if you have layers, there’s no need to use Layer masks, create your gradient on an empty layer on top of the rim layer, then Alt-click between them: it creates a clipping mask. The transparency of the bottom layer will shape what’s visible on top. (That is, if you don’t want the light to bleed over the rest of the image)
(I always forget about 'Clipping Masks' since I'm so used to using 'Layer Masks')
There are so many workflows on Ps. The knockout is one Ishould use more often, @plush stirrup made an must see series about it on AdobeLiveUk.
It was a3parts one, IIRC, this one might have been part of it: https://creativecloud.adobe.com/cc/discover/video/Photoshop-Crash-Course-Top-Tips-for-Masks-with-Tim-Moebest/19099?locale=fr-BE

I do feel sorry for beginners, when I watch them go through 22 steps, when they could have done the same thing in 3 steps.
(I'll watch that. Cheers)
I have an issue opening raw images in photoshop: sometimes when I click open in the raw window it’ll say the the colour profile is missing. It usually help restarting photoshop, as my raw is not saved as b/w, but is theres something I can do to prevent this or fix this?
I also get a dialog box as I open photoshop saying «this Face Expression file is bad or corrupted», then I just click ok and everything works, have no idea what that is?
Cant see my last 100 projects, only 20. I can see them in files tho but i dont remember the names, how can i fix this at home page?

I need help using the EasyCanvas application with PhotoShop. It's a program that allows me to control my pc from an iPad similar to a drawing pad. When I open photoshop I get an error saying "This file is bad or corrupted." I have tried going into my files for photoshop settings and deleting Gradients.psp but it doesnt generate a new one when I open photoshop so that fix didnt work and im yet to find another, any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Hi @river otter Draw your shapes (I used the Rectangle tool, rounded the corners and duplicated). Add the image on the layer above and make the image layer a clipping mask.
Hi @tawny lotus What is the exact error message? Here is the generic troubleshooting info from Adobe: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/file-recovery-photoshop.html
Any file in any application can become corrupt. Remember to always create incremental backups (saving one project with different dates or time) or save to cloud service that does this for you (dropbox, Save to Cloud files in Adobe's Save as dialog box) so that if you can't recover a corrupt file, you can open a previous version.
after pressing OK i can launch into photoshop, but any file with a gradient seems to go all black when opened and also dont have any of the default gradient presets
Hi Dave. An outer glow doesn't have that sort of positioning control. The background underneath seems to be black. You could just draw a black box (or whatever color the backgroud is) over it to block it under the line. Not elegant, but effective.
yeah I just made a colored rectangle below the line'
Which works!
Ok, I had to go read up on that message. So you were able to locate the gradient.psp file and deleting it didn't help. I found this:
Solution for "Gradient File is bad or Corrupted."
Exit Photoshop.
Locate your Gradients.PSP file.
In Windows, it's located in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2020\Adobe Photoshop 2020 Settings
Copy it to a temporary folder. You probably won't need it but save it, just in case.
Delete the Gradients.PSP file from the Adobe Photoshop 2020 Settings folder above. Photoshop will regenerate a new Gradients.PSP file when launched.
Launch Photoshop. If you still get the error, create a new document and use a gradient preset. Then quit and reopen Photoshop.
That should resolve it.
I added italics to the last instructions... if you still get the error...

@willow gale do you have an answer for this? If not is there a better place for me to ask?
I've never used it so won't be much help. Most folks here are off for the night, so you might ask again tomorrow. You could also ask on the Adobe Community Forums (https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem/ct-p/ct-photoshop?page=1&sort=latest_replies&filter=all&lang=all&tabid=discussions) and/or one of the subs on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/photoshop/).

idk what's going on but photoshop specifically is being really slow at loading and when it finally loads the home screen and I click on a project, it doesn't load the sidebar on the right. i can use photoshop beta just fine though. i've noticed that it's still active when i open up task manager though i have already click the "X" on the top right corner.

Hi! On the left you have the toolbar. Either you can try to go to the windows menu and select tools, or you can try the Alt+TAB shortcut, If I remember correctly.
In order to pin it to the side, grab it from the top and slide it to the edge of the screen.
Here is some essential reading on the topic: https://www.photoshopessentials.com/basics/getting-know-photoshop-interface/
There’s literally a button „learn how to fix“ and you still can’t manage to fix this by your own?
Hmmm I wanna make sure I know what I'm doing again
@ripe quest, is this what you might consider a "bad practice?"
And it seems I didn't get a response to this question
I haven't been really following the conversation as I was away yesterday, but to be honest, a corrupted file should be the exception. I only got a couple in my long life as a Photoshop user
Now, I know it's no comfort, but the only thing you can do to remedy that would be to save intermediate versions as soon as an important update is done.
I do that regularly with som clients whom I know they will want to revisit other versions at some point (clients, hey? 🙂 ). So I would name my file myfile_V1.psd, my file _V2.psd and so on...
You can keep them all as I do (I consider storage space as cheap, and my time as expensive) or revisit and delete non-needed versions at the end of the project
If you are afraid of corrupted files happening again, that's the only thing that would help I think
Also, automated back ups? (but it would back up a corrupted file if you don't realise it soon enough)
How do I crop a zoomed in picture? I’m taking macro photos and want to have a magnification super close up
You can use the crop tool (shortcut C) to "cut out the edges" Like you would with a print and a pair of scissors. Just make sure that the end result is big enough in terms of number of pixels for what you need to do
You can quickly see your pixel size at the bottom left of the canvas
So, make copies as I go on? Alright
Yes, but it's maybe overkill. a corrupted file once in awhile (as in once every blue moon) is OK, if you get corrupted files constantly, then there is another issue.
I mean if you do complex stuff with 100s of layers on a 10000 pixel wide image, then making copies could be an issue as well
I tend to minimize my layers
For example, an oil painting is just one to three layers
Thanks, anyway
Now regarding this, what do you think?
I tend to use as many layers as possible in order to be able to redo any part of my project without sacrificing the rest, but each workflow is valid. I just hate working for nothing 🙂
I make it one layer so that it's like I'm really doing oil paint lol
so even if I create shadows, I would create maybe 5 layers for shadows so I can say blur them individually and not selecting the area and blurring that area of the whole shadow layer - this is an example)
do you mean creating artboards?
Creating artboards in that specific manner, where I leave the background out of both
This might hinge on another kind of project that I might work on. So I hope I don't lose my progress in those 1-3 layer works
NO, I do the same personnally. Sometimes I leave the background out of it as I may want to have a different BG for each
But I'm not big on artboards in PS, simpley because it's not really the kind of work that I do
I might do it if I need templates for social media for example
As I said, whatever works for you. I have been trained at the school of "non destructive or die" because creating photoshop work was really all manual work then, and you wouldn't want to do anything again because you screwed a layer 🙂
Wait how do those 3 have a green background
It honestly doesn't take me any more time to do it properly because I don't even thing about it
3 background because I've copied and pasted them 🙂
But ideally I could have created a smart object with those background and copied it in each artboard, so if I change one, it changes all the others
I was lazy there 🙂
Ah
I didn't see the scroll bar, so I thought your layers were just three layer folders
If it was a project for a client I would have made use of smart objects with layer comps. The aim of this particular file is to be able to change the artwork (record) easily and change the background colour as well
I'm going to use Artboards as a test to see what works best for a comic
Basically copies of artboards with smart objects to change the artwork (back and front)
Huh. I didn't realize I get a solid white background without using a background now
and then export artboards as files
Yes projects with artboards have white as standard
I haven't used smart objects before
Is there a specific menu you use to edit them?
Cool!
When you export your artboards you can choose to export with, or without, the background
That makes sense
As a general rule you cannot edit then (as in paint with them), you need to open them separately to be able to. However you can apply filters non-destructively to a smart object. It makes your lfe easier that you can replace objects within a smart objects
For example in the case of this projects for the record covers I could easily switch between one cover and another just by choosing "replace contents" and choose another cover. And provided that both covers are the same size, they will be positionned exactly at the same place. Combine that with layer comps and then you got a uniquely versatile workflow, when you need to create avariations of the same layout with different assets

Thanks for the links
Regarding what I did, you said leaving the background out, even when it's creating a giant white rectangle behind my artboards, isn't bad practice, right?
Gotcha
I don't know if you have a spacific use for a giant background as an artboard
I don't do comics and have no real knowledge of that so I wouldn't know. I know that there would be no use for me in what I do
I'm talking about this happening when I remove the BG layer from the lowest artboard
In the case of the project I screenshot earlier, ecah artboard as it's own background, because I need to be able to change the BG for each if I need to
I guess I'm misusing artboards in that case
Yes, but I would never need a lower level artboard for anything
do you need to export that lower level artboard for anything? what is its use?
It's not a lower level artboard lol
Apologies, I am not that good with providing context sometimes
Yup. Is it bad to have that?
no, it would just confuse me I guess
it has no use that I can think of, so it could disapear
as I said, whatever works for you!
Alright, then
There is no right or wrong, ther is just what makes sense in your workflow. You just need to ask yourself if you need that artboard for something in particular and if the answer is no, then consider it as an extra step worth ditching
but if it helps you in any way, by all means, keep it
It just confused me as well, which is why I came to ask about it
Like I asked myself "why is there a giant white background? Is there a use for it? Why not go ask the Photoshop pros?"
I guess there might or might not be a use depending on what I do along the way
It's different from how you use Artboards for sure, though!
Photoshop can do a lot of things, it's adaptable enough for you to tweak it to fit your needs. At the end, nobody else but - maybe - a client will see your layer stack, in the same way that nobody hads to know your lens or camara make when you shoot a photo. It's always good to optimise one's workflow but at the end, it's the result that counts... and the fact that you have fun doing it!
possibly because your file is set in a specific colour mode or something of that kind. Can you poost a full crenshot of the window, complete with the layer stack and file name?
Just cover the layer with a black one
Answers must be public
You can screenshot that if you don't want to show your file
because it's 32 bits
might work in 16 bits however
I probably never used 32 bits in my life 🙂
How would I get an ultra close up of the guys nose in that photo?
is that something i can change at this point?
yes
image>mode> change bit depth
drag the corners inside like I did (see how the crop is smaller than the whole image)
The same way you do when you transform a photo.you drag in and out the transform controls

It is genuinely the cheapest plan available. Noone can have it cheaper really. Where are you a resident of? I can send you the link...
(T&C depends on the country, but generally you need to prove you're a student or teacher of a state accedited school. It doesn't need to be a design school or anything)

Yep
Great

I don't think the FBI will raid your house if you do, but these are the rules
Haha
They will know, because you need an internet connection to make it work
I mean, photoshop is probably the #1 most cracked app
so if you're connected to both devices at the same time, they will know.
So when both devices use photoshop at the same time adobe will get an alert? What the heck
Yes, but sometimes you have to pay for things 🙂 I mean people pay for their food and lodgings. If that's something you enjoy (as a genuine hobby) or it's necessary for your work, then it's fair to pay for it. There are other software that are free if you want to prank your roomate... Not everything needs to be done with Photoshop
I don't know really. All what I'm saying is that they could know technically, but do they act? I am not an Adobe employee, so I don't know
I am saying that it's a possibility
I'm sure they don't really care, but I am not party to their secrets 🙂
This pricing is not available to OEM, commercial or volume licensing customers.
so this means I cannot use it for commercial things like youtube or something?
yes of course!
Commercial licencing is somethiung different to the personal licencing you will take
It doesn't concern what you do with the software
Just how you acquire it (in bulk, via a company, via a school etc)
You can renew as long as you're a student
If you no longer a student you will need to go on a standard price
At the end of your offer term, your subscription will be automatically billed at the standard subscription rate, currently at US$29.99/mo (plus applicable taxes), unless you elect to change or cancel your subscription.

Do you think the picture I made matches the other picture?
No.
In girl photo, full image is clipped to letters, and bellow that is girl cutted out.
no there is more adjustments that you should do to match it. The text needs to be much closer together, and it should only have an outer line.
Use a bold font or make the font a bit wider.
This is what DJ said yesterday, beginners use to make 20 steps, instead of two, and result is still incorrect.
What you do by steps is.
- Select subject, paste it in new layer.
- Make a text below original and clip original layer to it.
- Put text and clipped original above (on top).
- Make white background as last layer.

I have some questions about the licenses
I have 3 devices: my pc, my laptop and my ipad
but I can only have 2 active at the same time
what happens if I forget to log out from one of my computers and try to login through my ipad at school?
also what does 2 active licenses mean
device 1: logged in
device 2: logged in
or
device 1: logged in, photoshop open
device 2: logged in, photoshop open
It means "logged in". In the three device scenario, you just need to be rigorous about signing out before you leave one workstation to head to the next. For a while, Adobe had fixed number of times you could do this, but that was removed and not reinstated, to my knowledge. And, you can deactive your computers (not your iPad) from https://account.adobe.com/activated-devices which should help in a pinch. See https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/activation-limit-reached-creative-cloud.html#sign-out-account-page.

I researched a little and in the adobe forum someone said that if you try to login on a third device the other 2 will get "deactivated"
or the license will get deactivated, I dont really remember
If you apply a filter (for example, Filter > Filter Gallery > Artistic > Colored Pencil) it will change the pixels on the document and will be visible on the Layers panel thumbnail. That's destructive. If you miss the chance to undo or if you close the file, the filter is permanent. If you choose Convert for Smart Filters first and do the same thing, the layer is converted to a smart object and the filter is applied non-destructively. You can change it or remove it later.
Honestly, I'm not aware of that, but I haven't done this for a while. I now have an additional license so that I don't have to go through the activate/deactivate process. But I used to and that's why I knew the answer that question. Can you track down that post?
Hi @honest storm Photoshop can do it (Lightroom too.) Here's a high-level overview (be sure to read about interpolation methods if you do it in Photoshop). No worries! Here's what I see from Adobe on this: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/activation-limit-reached-creative-cloud.html#:~:text=These errors occur if you,of the first two computers.
Selecting the area and applying generative fill with an empty prompt should do it. In the past, I would have said use the Spot Healing Brush (large enough to cover the area plus a little more) set to Content Aware.
thx
yeah
Since it's a png, you can resize the width of the image, but that will move all outside points in towards the center. This shape would be extremely easy to trace with the Curvature Pen tool—just double click each corner until you get back to where you started. Showing the Grid (View > Extras > Grid> and customizing it (Preferences/Settings > Guides, grids, and slices) will make it easy to make it symmetrical, and you could pull in those two outside points and one or two grid increments using the Direct Selection tool. Not sure where you are going with it, but you probably want it to be a Shape Layer.
i have some layers in photoshop. i want to create saturation/brightness adjustment layers for some of these. but not all of them. how do i do this without combining the layers into one [as they are text layers that i may need to edit]?
Groups I guess.
You can select a layer, and add an adjustment layer to it. However, adjustment layers will modify everything visible underneath, unless you clip them to the layer (or layers) below. Right click the adjustment layer > Create Clipping mask. If you need the same adjustment on a different layer, you can Alt/Opt drag the adjustment layer to duplicate, and then clip it to another layer.
I removed some noise, but still was not that good result. It's in feedback channel.
I don't quite understand... i now have the adjustment layer that only changes the first layer below itself. how can i add more layers to this "selection" now? i'm on windows btw

yes, i did it with groups, thank you
hi guys i got a question idk how to change from pixel to mm?
are you guys planning on making video game texture go to high resolution without having to see too many blurs?
and pixelations?
oka
what is the most professional way to extract an image from its background? Also is the difference between the pen tool and say select subject really that noticeable in professional work?
got to Image > Image size
Settings/Preferences > Units and rulers.
In a new document, choose mm in the New Document dialog box.
In an existing document, right click the rulers > mm. (If they aren't visible, View > Rulers.)
Sorry. Wasn't done but got pulled away.
HI @vale dirge Either tool is a good starting point but from there I'd recommend Select & Mask so that you can refine the edge, and then output to a New Layer with Layer Mask (non-destructive, infinitely editable). If you are trying to extract a subject with hair or fur or a fuzzy edge, the Refine Edge tool in the Select & Mask workspace is a necessity. See https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/select-mask.html and watch Julianne's video if this is new to you.
thanks!
Here is a video showing a few options. Starting with the most lazy and ending with the better, cleaner option.
how can i create this effect?
Hello guys, hope you're going well. I've been doing photography for a few years now, so I've already got my own retouching "style", but for a while now I've been following the work of "Thibaut Grevet" very closely, and I really like his very dated, vintage style, especially in these photos. I'd like to know if you have any tips on how to get this kind of grain in the image and generally this kind of aesthetic in retouching. Thank you very much. Have a nice evening!
That's just lots of NOISE added.
Same as above... the GRAIN is just noise. - See video 🙂
Or manually add your own as a layer and then try a few blurs like radial or movement....
is it too hard to generate precise texture upscales for video games?
Depends how "Precise" you mean. An AI upscaler can guess/fake what texture should be there...
human face textures, like Anakin's face texture
it's not just grain in the pictures i send imo, especially in the pics with some distortion like the last one ?
That's a 'liquify' filter.
I'm stupid, i tried it with dissolve xD thank you

Hey is anyone able to photoshop something for me real quick, I am trying to get a screenshot of my old clip to be changed to my new name to prove an item I have in a game
is there a way to set the zoom levels when using Ctrl+ or Ctrl- ?
Could anyone give me pointers on how to replicate this specific grunge look?
How to I export my layer mask with a transparent background? Every single time I export as a png and send it to another file it has a white background
Hi @vale dirge File > Export > Export As > PNG and check Transparency.
Be sure the checkboard is visible in the background—the checkboard indicates transparency.
Hi @compact cliff No. Those values are preset. You can zoom in other ways though... type in a magnification value in the lower left of the document window. Use scrubby zoom. Use the keyboard shortcuts listed in the View menu.
how do i get rid of this purple color, everytime i open this it make my photos purple
@hot steeple The filter uses your foreground and background colors.
oooohhh thank u sm
Can anyone help me with a quick photoshop job? Will pay $5
Photoshop doesn't have Rotis font? I tried looking for it even in the Adobe fonts, result unmatched. Anywhere I can download or purchase for this font?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotis
https://www.linotype.com/881991/rotis-ii-sans-family.html?site=valuepacks
Rotis is a typeface developed in 1988 by Otl Aicher, a German graphic designer and typographer. In Rotis, Aicher explores an attempt at maximum legibility through a highly unified yet varied typeface family that ranges from full serif, glyphic, and sans-serif. The four basic Rotis variants are:

How can I change opacity from this selection?
It's because of your current foreground and background color. Cancel the filter gallery, press D to make them default (black and white) and try again
Can we see a screen grab that includes your Layers panel?
I found a solution using select then the eraser with a 50% opacity
Cool. You might want to consider copying or moving the selected content to a new layer and then lowering that layers opacity. Unlike the method you are using, this method is non-destructive and can be altered at a later date.
he said he's not skilled enough

2 Questions
- How do I add shadow in the easiest Way
- How do I add a font that not in ps (font: lemon milk)
If you double click on a layer in the layers panel, you will access the layer styles. in there you'll have severale effects, including a drop shadow
to add a new font you need to download it (and of course buy it if it's a paying font)
I am a a beginner atm do u think u can provide a video
and then it will show in Photoshop
I downloaded the font where do I add it

PC or Mac?
Windows
locate the font file, click on it, right click and click on "install" in the list
what in file explorer?
Where did the file landed when you downloaded it?
if it landed on the desktop, you can locate it in the desktop
Another thing how do I add a showad
shadow
I answered this one a bit higher up in the conversation 🙂
what abt text is there a shawod optinon?
but then you could watch the video as well
the text will appear as a layer, you can add a shadow to that layer
what this for picture or text
I think you need to review the basics first, because you will spend your day asking questions (which is fine! but can be very frustrating for you)
I suggest you go the help>hands-on tutorials and you follow the "orientation" tutorials
anything that is a layer. Any layer. a text layer or an image layer
waht is a "orientation?
Click on it and you'll know! 🙂 That is the basic tutorials, they teach you how to navigate in the app. They give you the basic orientattion, like when you're walking in the forest, you need an orientation....You need to understand what is a layer first. That's the base of the base in Photoshop.
It's just a way of naming the basic tutorials
Alr will do 👍🏻
Excellent!
Thanks!
Hey @vapid flume sry to ask but how can I do this since I cant go out then it would get restarted
Just follow along first, you don't have to touch anything.
Sometimes the inteface lets you touch the different menus and tools, if it doesn't that means it's not meant to, and just showing you for now
generally if you want to interrupt the stuff, you need to press the "esc" key (there is also an exit button at the top)
Keep it on and try things. Hands on is always the best approach!
Hi I'm new to Photoshop and I want to save my one of my artwork but it gives me this message
click okay each time you see this message. it is not an error .
I did that but yesterday I tried to open a different one that I saved and it said I couldn't open it
so i don't need to do anything in settings with the dialogue
I got those message everytime and I never had a issue with the psd or psb file.
You can also choose to tick "don't show again" and it will disapear
You can also go into the preferences (edit>preferences) and ask Photoshop to by pass this
It's for when you use VERY OLD versions of Photoshop (very very old... I promise you it won't happen!)
So why can't I open the psd files?
I got Photoshop yesterday
What was the error message when you tried to open it?
also which version of Photoshop do you have?
You'll find it here
Did you download it from the CCapp? from the Adobe website?
I downloaded it from the Adobe website yes
I thought changing it to a PNG file would work but it isn't working
check #🎨share-your-work-archive someone posted something bad
Photoshop files are either PSD or PSB, all the rest aren't photoshop files but generic image files
Thanks!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @fierce hornet (current: #67 - 26)
But for some reason it isn't saving as a PSB
So that's the last version... Try to open a .psd file and share the screenshot of the error message
.psb is a special format for very large files. you're not likely to encounter them for now
You're looking for a .psd
that will look like that in your explorer
I have no idea why it has saved as a Google file
Probably because you got your file associations wrong. thta's why it doesn't open in Photoshop
That said, my advice to the previous OP still stand. You need to cover the basics first because otherwise you will get very frustrated
check the help>hands on tutorial
There is a learning curve. Photoshop is a professional software. Like Cinema 4D, Blender, Catia, Auto CAD etc. You need to know the basics first
the help section is the best way to get a good head start
but how can i change it to a .psd
also you can check our very own #1042476087642423369 where you'll find lots of starter tutorials
double click on the file name to renamee it?
open the psd file location. right click open properties.
Open with: click on change and choose Photoshop.
click to apply and then ok. Check if this work.
also when you save something in Photoshop to be saved as a PSD (a working Photoshop file) just do CTRL+S, like in any other software
OK there you go it's fixed now thank you so much
if you export, you just do that, export as another file format. that you will not be able to open fully in Photoshop (at least your layers won't be conserved)
so if you obtained a google file, it's possible you were exporting it as a .svg file or something similar, but not saving it properly
something else you'll find in the starter tutorials within the help files
#🙏🏼challenges-questions check out this too. important
OK so I tried to send it to a friend but it's sending it as a Photoshop thing he needs to open it in Photoshop it's not sending it as a picture
why am I struggling with this I'm so good with IT 😭
you should export it as PNG or JPEG to send as a Picture 🖼️
Hello guys, sorry to bother, I'm new with photoshop and I'm trying to add shadows to a certain part of my image but it doesn't seems to work (it works fine with other part). If anyone got an idea of how I could make it work
I really urge you to watch those tutorials if you want to understand how these VERY basic steps work. It's not that I don't want to answer your questions, but you'll be there for the next 20 years if you don't understand the very basics of Photoshop first
I'm just asking for you to help me with this one question I will go watch the tutorials as soon as I can
so the answer is: as @fierce hornet kindly answered. You need to "export" in a file format someone who don't have Photoshop can read
JPEG, PNG whatever you want
This is different than saving
That's why it's called "export" and not "save"
ok i got it
If you don't know which, JPEG is a good option but PNG is better quality
JPEG can be read everywhere
i did png
give a screenshot here of the png
is there a full beginners guide in #1042476087642423369
I used an online converter
I don't think there is a full starter guide, but more different tutorials about specific subjects. The real full starter guide is in Photoshop (help section)

Yeah I'm trying to learn
But you guys are very helpful thank you
Hello, sorry to bother you @vapid flume, may you try to help me once you are done with helping NorrisSpeedster ?
There is no problem about that 😄
The best way to get help with your shadow issue would be to share a screenshot of the WHOLE window in Photoshop
It's best people can see the layers panels, the file size etc
an image is worth a thousand words, that's what they say 🙂
I will just send a zoom about the concerned area since I'm working on a A0 format.
The thing i'm trying to do is adding a natural shadow effect under the "Or loge" font (wich is an image not a downloaded font).
But when I select the letter and try to add shadow to it, it don't do anything at all or it add shadow to the entire A0 wich is not the point here.
The images are on the "Calque 2" and "Calque 3" layer and the file is around 200mb
How do you add the shadow?
I dont now the right therm in order to explain it in english but I select the area I want to add the shadow to with the magic wand then add a "marge mask" (not sure if it's the english therm) and end up in this menu where I usually have the shadows
I assume the calque 2 is the shadow and you haven't added a layer style
in that case you need to constrain your calque 2 to the area. And you will do that by masking the shadow layer
French is OK
I don't understand how i can mask the shadow layer
I assume it's not just clicking on the eye in order to see or not the image
no, hiding is just hiding the visibility of the layer You need to select the area with a selection tool
then this area will need to be filled with white and what you want to hide filled with black
first select
then add the mask by clicking on the icon
like this ?
this isn't a mask ?
in my example, the visible area is white, the hidden area is black. Your mask is all black. Nothing is visible
I think it's because I'm working on a big format, oserwise we could see the wite part
that's masks
Yes, I did the same thing with the other part, but it doesn't seems to work :/
the problem is that I don't know how you've built your shadow... Because if you want your shdow to only apply to the text, then, in acse you painted it by hand, it should appear only where you painted it, and not everywhere
I miss some info here
did you try to create shadow with the layer effects?
possibly "ombre portees" in French, but I don't have PS in French
The other shadows I simply add it by left clicking on the "motif" i selected and end up on the same window
you apply that effect only on the layer you need (text in that case)
Why do you want to apply a pattern as a shadow? I don't understand what you are trying to do
As I said French is OK
On the other part I was filling the blank space with the pattern (after selecting with the tool) in order to give the looks of the material that I want, and then I add shadow where it was needed
s you don't add a shgadow as a pattern. What do you try to do when you say "left click the motif/pattern" layer
Left click just selects/highlights the layer, it should do nothing else
Oh what
The OP doesn't want to continue in French, that their choice
But I really think there is a lost in translation issue there
Anyway, I need to go. I have work to do 🙂
I'll let someone else take over
I'm already late
Thanks for the help
No worries
Originally it was used for fighting if you can beat a group of people by yourself you solo then
I used it as in Sandrine is able to help anyone and everyone regardless of the situation
it was more "a language she doesn't understand" that got me 🙂
Thanks though @river otter
No problem
I see
I finally deleted the layer and made a new one and now it's working fine so I guess it's good now.
Thanks for the help

This is a more general creative cloud question, but I've noticed there are a few 2023 versions still "installed" but when I go to uninstall them it stays there.
Hi I'm working on a project, I duplicated the layers and locked the original layers because I want to keep it intact but when I try to rotate the copied layers, the original layers also rotates even though they are locked.... why?
does anybody know how do i make that ship foam in ps
i want to add that in here but in ps not in blender
Hi @hollow zealot where are you seeing that particular list? Is that the list Windows shows when you type Adobe in the Search field on the taskbar?
I'm a macOS user, but googling "uninstalled apps still appear in Windows search" has a lot of hits, and provides the steps to remove the apps from the list. As far as Adobe is concerned, the list of installed apps is in the CC Desktop app, and that should be accurate.
It's in the start menu and the installed programs list in control panel. When you click uninstall there, it opens creative cloud, it says it's uninstalling an older version (For photoshop, 27.9.1 when I have 28.x installed) and then after that, it's still there, and you can repeat the same thing again and it does it again.
Hey, im trying to make some cool background gradients but when im using brush it leaves these bounding instead of just smooth disappearing. And when i turn this brush into gradient it doesnt look good. Is there any way to make it smoother?
^It works the same when I make smaller circles
Those are probably just leftovers in registry
It's a Windows thing, and not limited to Adobe apps. Did you google the fixes? You just have to manually remove the references.
Same issue here and it's driving me insane.
Is it possible to select sky in photo like this?
Is there a script that turns all groups to Artboards?
It was a bug in the beta. I switched to the normal version and it’s fine. There was a beat update yesterday I think but I’ve not tried it
Kinda. Alot of the microsoft support answers are kinda weird.
hello, can anyone help me with a small issue? My text box has no outline and text cursor line, it's really annoying to work with, although it was literally working normally yesterday
and it's not in Point text mode, it's Paragraph Text
Anyone know a good platform or way to face switch?
What effect is added to get this texture
Ah okay. Mine shows up to date, but still happens. I'll just wait till it's fixed.
easily
Yeah I just checked and it’s still doing it on the beta but not on the normal version. Its annoying as all my steam deck buttons are set up for the beta version
Yeahh a lil annoying but if it's a Beta issue can't really complain I guess, cause it's a Beta for a reason lool. I thought it was on all versions cause a buddy of mine told me he experienced it too and as far as I knew he was on the stable version; but I guess he must have switched to the Beta as well.
Heyo, I'm not too sure where to post this, but I'd like to point out that within the server onboarding the word "editing" is misspelled as "editting". For more information please have a look at https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/editting 😄

@ivory rampart I needed it to test this. First thing I learn in AE.

Also, you should not be "removing watermarks" on images that do not belong to you.

I hope this doesn't make me seem like I'm taking my sweet time. but uhh is there a CMYK color wheel to access?
I looked it up, but no dice

Hi @turbid charm Filter > Liquify.
hi everyone, im currently experiencing some issues on my windows installation and wanted to ask if anyone knows a way to migrate all my settings and presets to a new windows installation. thanks!
All the settings and presets are copied when you update any CC app, including Photoshop. You can also do it manually https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preset-migration.html
I have a question about the zoom tool.
I used to be able to drag zoom but now whenever I drag it, it just selects an area to zoom into. How do i fix it so it just drags?
thx! ill try that
make sure "Scrubby Zoom" is enabled!
I tried that but the icon is greyed out and I can’t click it
is your gpu acceleration enabled?... maybe try restarting Ps first, it can happen when you work on large files

anyone know how to get this font or style of text?
I want to save these characters one by one
probably easiest way to do it would be to keep all characters as separate layers and export layers to files
Yeah.
First layer is gradient with bewel and emboss.
Second layer is black bigger letters.
i need help
i need this font
can someone make this and turn the red to this color?
like literally make green squares then have the 2 transparent letter b mask it
exact font tho
bb g'z
should be easy, but idk how to do it
Should have separate channel #doitforme
trace it as vector Pen tool (P)
Font is "M Hei HK Xbold".
i drew the box using shape tool, but is there a simpler way to create that box around my text? so that it dynamically becomes bigger/smaller along with more/less text i have?
Sir, through wich adobe tool I can create infographics well and better photo editing?
Pls read through which
Sir, are you there
Photoshop is probably your tool
You can create graphics and edit pics in PS
For infographics i would say that Illustrator would be better
I found this in a search and it should work for you 🙂
Go to the "Layer" menu, then select "Layer Style," and choose "Stroke." In the Stroke dialog box, you can set the size, position, blend mode, opacity, and color of the border. Click "OK" to apply the border to the text. These steps will allow you to add a border around the text in Photoshop.
No. Photoshop is a photo editor with limited type features. InDesign (with robust type controls) can adjust the width and/or height of a frame as you add more type, but not Photoshop.
any sugggestions on how I could make this look better?
mess with curves on the knight character layer. the reflections are too bright in contrast to the subdued dark background @knotty olive
what about for the frame?
@knotty olive i just made a sloppy mask around your knight subject but something like this
actually yk what my curves are way too harsh LOL
yeah looks good. but assuming that, any other changes you would make to the card format?
plan to make many with tons of characters and stuff
(pt2 to my example)
yeah i can help w that sorry i nitpicked the wrong part
is this for a digital game or a physical game
I have all adobe but I dont know how to use anything besides premiere and photoshop
got a pretty basic look rn but it seems plain
got the name, rank, and card number with a decent UI on the bottom
@knotty olive took me a sec cuz im not well versed in illustrator, but you could do something like this for a border
me waiting for the upload
have your card in illlustrator, select blob brush tool, then on the right under properties theres a dropdown menu of brushes, and you can click and drag a brush to the border of your card
might need to expand the card so it doesnt transform your whole card but instead an outer stroke of the card
i will try it now and show you some examples
so just like a black border?
on the outside of the card
or some solid colored outline
he says he's gonna reconsider it he just needs a bigger picture of it so I'm gonna blow it up and print it
there are some textured brush strokes that you can apply as borders
gimme one more sec
thanks
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @acoustic shadow (current: #253 - 5)
@knotty olive you can mess with other brush strokes ngl idk but i swear this is a feature in photoshop.
looks kinda ugly though no?
i mean there are plenty of options it might be something fun to mess with if you dont wanna do just a simple stroke border
another example @knotty olive
i have no clue how you play that game but i could see the change in colors and borders differentiating between rarities of cards or sumthin
yeah I'll mess around with ideas
thank you
Hey, suddenly I can't stream photoshop. What's the deal?
That goes for Discord and OBS
Hello!
I'd like to know if it's possible to stop photoshop from immediately highlighting/selecting the name of a file when I Save As.. or Export it.
I know this seems absurdly minor, but this has been bugging me for a while.
Is there any faster method to remove small details of background (example around the hair part) rather than using eraser and erase bit by bit?
Lots of possible methods. Can you post a screen shot so we can offer the best for your situation?
Sure but I'm on my way for class right now. Sorry didn't check the notification earlier. I'll send in a few hours or so. Thanks.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @nocturne cairn (current: #26 - 70)
No worries. Have a great class.
If you were to type that question into Google instead of discord you'd find loads of videos on how to remove backgrounds via multiple methods...
I can't really tell you, it's been a while I haven't streamed anything 🙂
But have you tried with another software? Just to test...
In case it's only happens with Photoshop, it would help if you explain what exactly happens (or doesn't happen)
It's supposed to give you the name of the file you are saving/exporting from
Like if you opened a example1.psd and tried to save as or export, your export or save as will start by Example1 (followed by the file format) and you are expected to change it then if you want
unless I didn't understand what you are trying to do?
What would you like it to do instead?
Oh, yeah, I know why it does it, but I do a lot of small repetitive tasks like.. sprite variants which usually all have the same name except for like.. a count.
So I don't want to change the full name or displace any letters, only add to what's there
I'd like it to leave the name unselected when I export/save as..
I'm aware this seems redundant as I can dismiss the selection with a click, but I'd rather it just gave me the caret.. again, this seems really dumb, but reaching for the mouse each time just so I can click the name is annoying after like 50 sprites.
I am a fan of streamlining my processes
Hello everyone, I have a question about large formats. I want to create a poster with dimensions 460*270. What format should I choose in Photoshop to work smoothly, and what should I do when exporting it to jpg?
Do you know why when I add a shadow on one object then when I want to add the second one, the first one also changes??
Then you can use other type of exports, like export layer comps to files (that what you may need to look into for Sprites), or simply export artboads to files, or other types of export automation.
Export as : this is just for one-off exports
I swear by layer comps! 🙂
So it used to allow me to select the Photoshop window when I went to stream, but it's just not even showing up.
On OBS, window capture will show the window, but the stream won't show the actual canvas. It works with older versions of Photoshop, so that's my current workaround.
The thing is is it for print or for digital display? If it's for print, will you print it yourself or give it to a commercial printer. And what are the units? 460 X 270 what? (metre, inches, yards, ?)
I will explore that further, thank you
Have you tried with another software? I used to have issues when I chose the program instead of window, because Photoshop is made of multiple wiindows. To remedy that you need to dock all the windows. Same with illustrator etc
I suspect it's more an OBS issue than a Photoshop issue
I tried docked and undocked, no dice. I've only used Discord and OBS so far though in terms of streaming
maybe because you have "global light" ticked in your settings in the layer styles. Try to untick it to have both independaent from each others
TRy with MS word or whatever as a test maybe?
I probably spent more time in my life testing things in OBS than actually streaming 🙂
Try it with your browser with a recording instead of a streaming
if all fail, maybe it's the best place
https://discord.com/invite/obsproject
OBS captures anything else fine
Sorry, no idea... You might want to ask a bit later in the day, there might be people more used to streaming then and who can answer your question...
Well thanks for trying. I'll test some other things, like twitch and try and narrow down what the issue might be.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @vapid flume (current: #9 - 474)
It's for a commercial printer, and that would be 460*270cm
So first you need to ask your printer
Because only them will be able to tell you the resolution they will need
which is likely to be less than 300 dpi
If it's a vector based artwork, you can make do with designing at a lower size, but anything ratser entering into the mix, and you'll have to design at the size the printer asks you to
Hey, I've got a problem with my photoshop. When ever I export a photo from photoshop it comes out smoother than what I see in photoshop, its almost like photoshop is adding grain to my images when I view them in the app. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thank you so much for your answer!

Have you seeing them both at 100%? Are you opening your exported file in Photoshop to see if that changes anything? The thing of looking at stuff at 100% magnification in Photoshop is very important
yes
It also depends if you export in JPEG or say, PNG, as JPEG will destroy fine modulations of colour which can affect the noise
this is the jpeg after ive exported it and put the image in photoshop
and ive tried PNG and it has the same issue
How do you export?
Walk me through the menus you use...
what happens if you try file>export>export as choose PNG in the right side drop down menu
because it may also depends on the colour profile you are saving it in save as. If you don't touch anything, export as with transfer to sRGB by default
It should be the issue but we never know
comes out smooth again
also shows it smooth on this menu inside photoshop
also the % of zoom isnt effecting it
Let me think...
At first I thought that it could be a 16 bit/ 8 bit issue but you're in 8 bits for both
yeah its really wierd
Let's see if one of the fellow mods have any idea (not sure they're around)
@sly hawk You are being summoned! 🧙
We may also ask @ripe quest but they're in another time zone, so likely to be available later in the day...
It's probably obvious, but honestly, I can't see anything now
thats fine thanks for trying sandrine, im sure ill find the issue eventually
Unless we find someone who knows in the chat already! I mean everyone can asnwer of course!
yeah its really wierd though, i dont understand why, its as if photoshop is adding a grain filter to the image
When Photoshop is acting weird a good old reset of the Preferences is often the trick @vapid flume
ill try that now thanks
Good luck 🙂
wow crazy, it worked
thankyou michael
and sandrine
this has been causing me issues for ages, thanks
Hey that’s great to hear. Thank you. The good old reset to the rescue.

I should have mentionned that 🙂 But I was banking on a failure of my knowledge more than a failure from Photoshop
Meaning that I should give myself more grace? 😅
Sorry @frail saffron ye good olde reset would have saved us time!
well still thanks for helping, better then no one saying anything, thanks to both of u
I know exactly how you feel. I think half the solutions on the official Adobe forums involve a good old reset of the preferences 😉
I am so used to Photoshop not giving me any grief whatsoever these days, that I forget it has its weaknesses (I'm looking at you Illustrator!)
How can I smoothen the edges on this?
How can U rotate a text
You could blur it or use a different method to achieve what you want... What is your goal?
You can simply transform it with Ctrl+T
I'm going for a smoother edge, not so rugged
How can I add a shadow of a picture that I add
I tired a gaussian blur but it's not really doing what I want
You have a color overlay applied, what does the original image look like?
Right click layer > layer styles > enable drop shadow
The edges are still rough
What do you mean by "still"? Where is the image from?
It's a texture from forza
Does it support semi-transparency?
Probably
Is this possible in ps
I tried applying a blur and then increasing the image size and I get this, see how it's still a tad choppy
This is without the blur, just the image increase
I'm asking because your source image has 1 bit transparency - pixels are either fully opaque or fully transparent
This is just the base
Yes, use masks and overlays
I'm making an opacity map so that the black background is transparent (The game I'm applying to has that system)
U got any vides regarding this?
So you have the color channel and alpha channel as separate files? How about using alpha channel as a mask?
White is non-transparent, black is fully transparent, but you can have in between to have it be semi-transparent. It ranges from black to white
I would but I'm using the color channel to create the alpha
You can find resources regarding masking in #1042476087642423369
That's why I want to smoothen the edges
Ok so you don't have the alpha channel and you need to create one?
Basically yes
This is how I usually do it but I haven't had this badly rough of a texture to work with
Usually I just increase the image size with preserved details 2.0 and it fixes it, but this is completely black and white with no smoothing so it makes it rugged yet smooth
What glows is this?
Cant dfind it there so many
This could work given your aliasing follows the pixel pattern. Otherwise, you have to create the alpha that hides sharp edges making it all look anti aliased. Select&Mask options could help here. Ctrl-click your layer's thumbnail to select visible pixels, press the mask button to apply the selection as a mask and double click the created mask. A new workspace will pop-up where you'll be able to specify feathering, contrast, edge shift of your mask. Play with it to get the best result
heya all! maybe some1 know, if its possible to enlarge psd with shapes, that have pixel look hard edges.
..without destroying these hard edges with additional pixels... thx
there pixel look icons and other gradients and graphic
Use nearest neighbor upscaling method. Search for "upscaling pixel arts" here
or same qustion for illustrator file its can be both in psd or ai
Can anyone help me with this?
nop its blured image
How can it be doned?
It's the layer duplicated, blurred and probably overlay blending mode applied
filter - blur - gaussian blur
It's not doing anything
Illustrator enables you to upscale it endlessly, or do you want to have the gradients pixelated?
I'm toying with all the settings but I'm not noticing any change
what u think that overlay blending mode thing
i want upscale pixel icons and gradient backgrounds in one go whitout pixel iconss bluring) but seems its too much )

what abt this?
Yes, it is possible if you use masks to hide the text and use clipping masks and textures
I am pretty new to this system is there a video?
I just want a vid for the text
Look up "Photoshop masking" on YouTube
Didnt find anything to do with my font
Masking doesn't have anything to do with your font... You have to learn the method and basics and then apply your knowledge to your design
Yeah, You need to take the principal of what masking is, and then apply it to your project.

What do you mean? you're bringing in an image into a canvas and it's looking bigger/smaller than you were expecting?
smaller
it doesn't matter if it's 1920 1080 or 1650 1080 it's the same in photoshopioe
You mean it's auto filling with lorem ipsum?
Yes
When I draw a text box in Photoshop cc 2019, the text box is filled with text in a foreign language (not English). The text box has not done this in the past. I have tried resetting the Horizontal Type Tool and that did not fix the problem.
Googled it. First result.
Ok tx
(Personally I like lorem ipsum, since it dissapears when I begin to type anyway)
so you know what i can do?
It fills in with the font name

hello, i just got photoshop 2024 and i have a problem with the marquee tool
with older photoshop versions, whenever i would press and hold to make a selection, it would instantly create it after i stop holding
now, i press and hold then stop holding, it still keeps moving the marquee tool around my mouse and if i want to finish a selection, i have to left click
how do i get it so that it works like the old version where its just press and hold then release to finish a selection
did you buy crack?
or*
Does anyone know what's going on with changing the resolution automatically? it doesn't matter if it's 1920 1080 or 1650 1080, it still changes the image to a small one asap
nope
Weird, it only happens when i press and hold for a short duration
whenever i press and hold for a little longer
it works like normal
Hey does anyone have a youtube that would help me make a soda can label/wrap for a 3D Model?
You probably need to look into uv texturing
Tipjar/Donation Link: www.paypal.me/POLYCOSMTipjar
This week on POLYCOSM we touch on how to update textures in Blender in near-realtime through the power of Photoshop Documents, or PSDs if you will, and how you can increase your workflow efficiency by utilizing two monitors.

Something like this
Or you can use Adobe Substance Painter
Which makes texturing much easier
But it’s behind paywall
I have both
I wanted something more foucsed on making the wrapping that goes around a Can like the label

I would like to select and mask the right part of this image where a person appears to have approached the camera too close to use in a different composite. What would be the best approach for this? Thanks for the help 🙂
you want to remove the blurry person on the right? Jeez.
I think generative fill is really the way to go here:
Then knock out some of the remaining orange tinting where it matters...
(Ps. I just used the prompt: remove blurry forground image

Hey there. I'm new to this course and I got stuck under the section of "Intro to layers" so Would you please like to guide me how do I move a single object, while selecting a single layer in the grouped layer section. I think the procedure to do that is skipped in the video tutorial. It's not clearly explained so I got stuck over there. Would you please like to guide me how do I do that? and would you please like to send me the discord link of Erika the goober students so that I can ask the doubts n get my questions clarified asap? I'm using photoshop app.
hey I'm happy to help you out, can you share the link to whatever you're watching/following along with?

Does anyone know why the image I paste into Photoshop always shrinks to this state? It was fine before, suddenly ctrl zooming doesn't work, everything is as if it were otherwise, does anyone know what could have happened?
Dumb answer but have you tried to zoom it in
What is canvas size, what is image size, what do you mean paste, what ctrl has to do with shrinking image?
YouTube search: "Photoshop for beginners".
I don't think anyone will understand what you ask, because there is a bunch of info missing from that question.
Like I said just zoom it in
Do you get what we saying?
Canvas can be this or that big, "I paste image" can mean place embedded, place linked, openned in another project and pasted rasterized, openned in another project, converted to smart object and pasted...
I am not that experienced but that's true it can't be that big
It could just be the image that is small but the canvas is way to big
It can be anything, default canvas is set to different from the time "it worked" for them.
So, yeah, question is not formed properly, can't be answered by not typing a book.
what I mean is that when you paste a 1920 1080 image onto a 1920 1080 canvas, the image automatically shrinks as in the image
Paste, how?
It's the picture
How you are importing image?
Hello i have another noobie question
I mean I don't have 15 years of experience like you do MLLapan so this is all yours 🤣
Ask away
when i use the magic wand tool to make an image a png and select and click delete i get this box
File - open, open image.
Unlock its layer, right click and choose convert to smart object.
Check is image size as you say.
Click ctrl+c, go on project you want to paste on and press ctrl+v.
i just want to make it transparent
I've been using Photoshop normally for 2 years now and I don't know what's going on because the same thing reduces to +- 200 pixels
dosnt work
I checked it first
Then reset preferences
dosnt work
Does another image works
I swear this wasnt always like this byt maybe im wrong
no
Does that image works on a new project
as I said, it doesn't matter whether I paste 1920 1080 or 1650 1080, it shrinks to the same size
It seems like the Canvas size/Resolution is much larger than the item that you're pasting in.
no xD
And not inches or else
Check the Resolution of both images.
i check
Edit > Preferences and uncheck "Resize Image During Place".
I checked it earlier
I do not know.
Open both images. Then show me a screenshot of the Image Size dialog box for each image.
what does it change if everything worked yesterday?
the canvas is the same as the painting, this or that, each painting changes, that's what I mean
If you don't want my help then figure it out for yourself.
what to do if I accidentally set new default settings in layer styles but I want to undo them???? helppp
Ctrl Z
Looks more like photoshop thing.
Custom gradient with noise and soft brush with opacity to soften areas per wish on mask.
thank you so much

How can I make that the guy is behind the purple thing if everything else is background?
Select purple color by quick selection or by color range.
Ctrl+j, put this new layer above man.
Do not forget to make man look bigger.
Is the background one flat image or is it shapes?
It looks like a flat image from here. Try using a Marquee or lasso tool to select the entire purple part then use Ctrl + J to create a new layer of from that selection. Lastly, place the image under the new layer then. That's it ✌🏽
Why are you replying to me?
My bad. It's for @languid grove
If the background is all one object, you could quickly do this with a selection and a Layer Mask. Something like this... Just keep in mind that the left edge is flat so it still will look a bit odd. Perhaps you have a larger version of the man to better fill up the space?
My answer applies to when the background is flat @languid grove
@languid grove - Does this make sense or is your document built a different way?
Thank you, that worked!

Something like the attachment. (You'll have to modify various things to meet the needs of your project.)
A whole video thank you.

I'm trying to recreate the whole can do I make on a separate page?
You can make certain elements separately. It all doesn't have to be in one document.
Is there a tutorial for adding fluid effects on a sword for example?
I've fully animated a full hd picture that i've created in Photoshop, but I would like to add some bloody fluid effects on the sword, but I kinda don't know where to start..
"Fluid effects"? Do you mean that you want like blood dripping off the sword?
Yeah.
I did make now a break, but yes, that's exactly what I want.
Do you have an example of what you're trying to create? The art style or is this a photograph or... ? Anything to look at?
It's a gift, I can't share it public..
Is there a different image or an example of what you're trying to create?
private, yes, but public is not a good idea
Some other image that you can share or show me the type of style this is? Is it an illustration or a photograph?
