HOI4 has much more shit going on and indivually they are pretty simple to understand the tricky part is making them work with each other and there is just alot you have to remember
Stellaris has a steepish learning curve but HOI4 is steeeeeeeep af

New stellaris also changed the meta of building, before you’d pick largest planets for foundries/factories, but now you pick the largest for basic resources instead, and build support districts. The number of support districts is tied to planet size hence why larger planets are better, alloys and cgs have nothing that increases their output per district like that

Cool mammalian empire with freaking giant crab monsters and living space stations inside. I don’t actually like the living shipsets and I wish they were less common in the galaxy

Basically fauna have a weird endgame where the immature units are actually the best ones and not the adult. Earlygame revolves around amoeba mothers then hanger spam. Generally you start with amoebas and then field either crystals or voidworms with usually H weapons but sometimes torpedos too, or fleets of gastric lance Cuthuloid artillery, Cuthuloids also make good ambushers due to their swallow ability and specifically can be used to cheese the new hivemind fallen empire with.

Early on you take domestication and grow your own fauna but late game it becomes expensive and you need to keep your ships immature so you switch to rationing and spam immature ships you never intend to grow

The best way to have a multiraced kingdom is to create multiple kingdoms that are ruled by different species and have them all be taken over by the same kingdom

Also make sure the invader has “join or die” and “xenophile” in their cultures traits
