How to access the worldbox data folder on android 11 to 13.

1. Download a third-party application like "File Manager" from google play,
2. Now go to your phone’s "settings" application, after that find/search an factory system application called "Files" (has a darker blue background with a big white folder in the center of the icon), then click it,
3. you will be showed the "app info" screen after clicked the "Files" application, find the three dots button,
4. After you see the three dots button, click the three dots button and then if it has an "uninstall updates" option there, make sure to choose the option (wait until the uninstalling process is done and completed to avoid a mistake),
5. Now open the third-party application (File Manager) and allow it to manage files,
6. Find the "Android" folder and open it, then open the data folder,
7. You'll see some popup, touch "ok"/"yes" and also touch the "use this folder" button at bottom without opening any files that are showing,
8. If you have succeeded, the app will now have access to android file and can enter the saves folder in "com.mkarpenko.worldbox" folder.

Yes, and it's to actually use MS paint. There's no option in the game and this way saves mountains of time.

Pull the image of your map out of the save folder.

Open it in MS paint

Fill it in using the same color template as the game uses

When finished use a converter to generate a new game file

Add the game file to a save folder in the game directory

anyone know how to make realistic mountains without using the vortex tool?

Im not an expert, and I'm still new to worldbox map making, but this is what I do.

Draw a squiggly lines and imagine how water would run off the mountains, into the hills, then highlands, into the lowlands, and then into the ocean/rivers.

If you do this you should get a vaguely tree like shape of valleys and crags that flow into nearby water sources.

Also just, look at real Mountains, topographic maps, and watch map making tutorials. Artefexia has a really good series that covers topographic maps, and his current series goes goes over orogenies, how mountains form, types of mountains etc.

it’s a bug with flag box. if you had flag box in a previous save but open that save without flagbox, it basically corrupts your save and makes it look like that permanently

it’s an issue that can’t really be fixed and the creator of flagbox seems unwilling to fix it as well

your best bet is to try and install the mod, and then when it’s installed change all the country flags/banners to vanilla ones and then disable the mod

I’m pretty sure that if there’s no flag-box flags loaded the game fixes itself but it’s 50/50

If you want codes to convert the heightmaps from the website, I currently use this setup:
1327ff, 000000 = deep ocean
3366ff = close ocean
80ffff = shallow water
227d00, 0b4f00, 014500 = soil tile
d9cd0f = forest soil
AAAAAA = hills
e39522 = mountains
a15522 = mountains snow block

My current configuration is far from perfect and I'm still adjusting it to get it right, so feel free to edit it however you need.

The website also has a biome map feature of sorts, so you could also download one of those, get the hex codes for the website's biomes and plug it into the map conversion bot for a basically complete map.

If I had image perms I'd show an example of one of the outputs with the preset, but my level isn't high enough yet.

Definitely not, what I did to help with it was to take the image from the world box saves file and use an image editing software. I use photoshop so it may be different but change image interpolation to nearest neighbor. Its pixel art so you should be able to search up how to draw pixel art on whatever software you use.

You're always free to post your maps in #🌐map-downloads . In order to get the map itself to upload you need to copy the map.wbox file from the save.
In order to do that you need to use windows + r and put this in.
explorer %USERPROFILE%\appdata\LocalLow\mkarpenko\WorldBox\

You also need to upload an image of the map with the file. A preview can be found in the same place.

Otherwise, if you only have your iOS device, it's impossible to install maps on iOS because the operating system refuses to give you access to the game files that you'd need to insert the map into.

Late reply but it depends on what you want to do. If you’re looking for overall cool composition definitely go for the mural image, if you’re looking to highlight the planets the solar system would be better. That’s what I’d do

The brain sort of shaped one with a lot of dots is tumor, bottom right go to debug menu, turn on fast spawn and sonic speed place like ≈1000 people, put a bunch of tumors, wait a few seconds then click on people until you find it

The one you use it on will have a king that has that trait

how yo guys make non quadratic maps like 5x5? how does 5x6 work for example?

There is a mod (I think it’s not currently updated to the beta) that allows you to do it. What you can do while it doesn’t update is just to dowload a specific size from steam. There are several of those. Just search like 10X5 or 7X8 etc.

Use the map conversion bot

Take an ss of an empty ocean, send it to the bot then convert it to whatever size you want

on normal speed up to 5x it doesnt lag but on supersonic it lags for me and keep in mind i got a pretty good pc, but yeah i understand your frustration
