No, you can access it.
There is an updated mod loader for it too but only a few mods that are updated.
In order to access it you need to go to it in your steam library, properties, and then input the code "forbiddenKnowledge" in the field where it will ask for it under betas. You can then select betalith.

Hmm i just noticed I dont have peaceful trait either. Ill try to find it to check if its possible

seems that the trait isnt defined in any subspecies

i checked in several families and none of them had the trait. Or its very rare or its bugged and unnaccessible for now

anyone here have the peaceful trait unlocked by fair means?

I've tried near 1,000 different characters with a multitude of different species at once for that trait, even checked in the trait editor (my fav function is to put my cursor over traits to see how many creatures have it) and it didn't show once. For a rare trait, compared to the others, it is extremely hard to find, near non-existant. I might not have a lot of evidence, but I personally think it's bugged.

you can always just use this tool, in all versions, but if you unlock the rebellion plot, you can go to the leader's profile and the plots tab and click on the rebellion one, too

I think it's supposed to show the units that have certain meta objects when it's on, based on the map layer you're using. but I just checked, and it's not doing that. so either it's bugged or it does something else

(I swear it gave them little pins above their heads, and the pin-heads were the colour of their culture when you were on the culture layer etc, before.)

Well this update adds better inheritance mechanics, where the parents can pass their traits to their offspring more easily

Humans have by default the "bad genes" trait, which makes them eventually have bad traits and makes them easier to be inherited

step 1: spawn 500 elves (or any unit of a subspecies with the "pure" trait) and yeet them into a volcano using the magnet

step 2: go to world laws and click on the forbidden knowledge tab, then click on the eyeball in the middle of the black hole -- this will activate forbidden knowledge

step 3: you should get an achievement, which also unlocks activating forbidden knowledge on the world generation screen

forbidden knowledge also prevents you unlocking new things and getting any further achievements in that world

also sometimes you think you've completed the requirements, but there's something extra you haven't done. eg, the angles vs demons one requires you to actually look at the war's window, not just get them to declare war

with the gunblade one, the sword won't pick up a weapon until it's sapient

Yup, it's a sorta chance-based thing, but when one subspecies is evolved into another, it will always evolve into that other, so for a different result you gotta try a different subspecies of that animal

If you place down some sheep, then go to a far enough part of the world and place more, they'll be a different subspecies of sheep

Does anyone else have issues with villages staying really low population for some reason? I'm in the beta btw. There are 2 scenarios where this keeps cropping up:

1: large villages after war rarely if ever get close to recovering in population. Even if I turn diplomacy off (to prevent wars) and crank the speed up to 20x they will just remain at their post-war population forever.
2: when a kingdom founds a new village, especially (but not only) on island landmasses, they will start with a smallish population like 10-12 then stay that exact size for a millennia until eventually they're wiped out by another kingdom

for example, Ze Deg was founded like 200 years ago with 20 population and it's just gotten smaller and smaller despite having more land than Pera

Yea, you click on a unit and it will be there. It is next to the kingdom, religion, language and stuff like that. It looks like a stone painting. Also you can go to the civilisation page where you change layers to see kingdoms or cities and stuff and there will be a button to change a layer to the subspecies one and a button right above it that will show you the list of all the subspecies
