New Healing system:
1.) Bandages, Hemostat, etc = no change
2.) Single-slot healing items (IFAK, AFAK, etc) = no change.
3.) CMS kit = double current self-use time, Team-mate use time = 3/4ths current use time
4.) SURV12 = Triple current self-use time, Team-mate use time = 4/5ths current use time.
5.) Salewa and other healing items (including stims): Triple current self-use time, Team-mate use time = similar to current self-use time.

Reasoning: It is easier to bandage and aid someone else than to bandage or wrap one's self.

Team-treatment is accessed through a use menu if they are alive as if they are "lootable," only it shows current active conditions and limb levels rather than gear. Healing proceeds as it does normally now by dragging or selecting a medical item and dragging it or hot-key pressing.

Accessing this menu can not occur against non-grouped individuals to prevent obvious griefing concerns (presses heal other key during firefight while team mates domes griefed player KekW). Opening the team-treatment menu forces a voice line from the person opening the menu, such as "Here, let me help you," or "Cmere, I got you" or "Hold this here." You can obviously not self-heal while treating a teammate.

Goals: Encourage teamwork and medical work during PvP and PvE. Tactical retreats increase to heal and operate. Single slot items increase in value due to their "solo play" intent and design. Reduces Stim meta.

Barring the game behind playing with a group of other people is going to severely limit the overall playability of the game imo. I play 100% solo and would 100% quit if I was forced to drag a human dumbbell with me into every raid. Alright, so hear me out:

I personally feel that solo players have a distinct advantage over team players, because they exist in a target rich environment. Movement is movement. Its obviously something to shoot. I feel that this would also grant solo players advantages, because as soon they land a hit, and healing takes time, they gain a reasonable level of certainty and 'push' ability that doesn't exist currently. Medical treatment is ALL solo at this point. This means that, all things equal, squads have an advantage.

Your argument is that by increasing heal time it nerfs solo, but it also nerfs team. They need to heal too. If a solo pops two shots onto a 3 man squad, and blacks a stomach and an arm, the three man now needs to decide if they should pull two members out to heal FASTER, or to engage super injured. Retreat to heal leaves the third in a one on one. That squad member has now lost confidence, faces even odds, and has significant adrenaline flowing. They are no longer in attack mode, but defend and cover mode. The solo who just smacked two out of a three man is at an advantage just because he decided to engage.

The way it is now, there's no decision to make. The Squad pushes and whacks the solo, heals after with very little to think about.

With the new suggestion, also, the emphasis is on the other meds available. Painkillers become a real thing to use. Is it worth sitting in a bush for minute healing a blacked out leg to not need to worry for the rest of the raid about your PMC shouting like a schoolgirl during dodgeball? Does that three man with a blacked stomach and arm heal during the firefight because they heard a fight 20 seconds away who's probably coming to third party?

A few extra seconds, added realism, and no more miraculous ~30 second self-stomach surgerys. All it takes away is the meta that blacked out limbs are insignificant, and adds a WHOLE bunch of in game, real time decision making.

Keep in mind, too, that suggestions I've made don't nerf everything. single slot items are unchanged. IFAK, AFAK, Splints, ALU Splints, bandages, hemostats etc. This is the majority of healing short of blacked limbs. Its not like its a death sentence to solos. Its based on the premise that you need to heal to full, which is a falsehood. That's a meta.

This change would kill PVP for solos entirely at the very least, but at the worst I assume it will make many solo players quit or begrudgingly play with a team only to later quit. I could argue having to fight four or five people is already enough, but the average team size is 2 or 3. I as a solo take EVERY fight up to a 3 man and past that it’s beyond me I’m out. If my arm gets blacked the fights over. I have to run away and re-position to heal my arm or fight multiple people with a blacked arm. If my leg is blacked I have to run away and re-position to heal my leg. I can do that because I’m a solo and it’s very taxing for a team to chase me down when I rapidly reposition. Teams can hold in place and surgery because they have someone else to cover them. I think this dynamic is fine. When you buff a teams ability to heal by allowing them to quickly perform surgery on one another thats fine. Twice the man power for only a 25% increase in speed is reasonable no complaints, but now they have the ability to heal mid fight and I don’t. My arm gets blacked? I’m leaving. They’re not gonna see me again. Pvp encounter over I’m leaving the raid disappointed and probably with a sad bag. Buffing team play is 100 fine. Look at rust. They buff teams and leave solos alone all the time and they have a thriving solo community. But you can’t buff teams and also nerf solos. It’s too much to stack on one person and it will ultimately remove any inherit advantage a solo had to begin with.

Np. I try to look at everything from a 100% balance standpoint and leave my own personal bias at the door. That’s hard with a game like tarkov when there’s so much involved and I understand I might also be biased towards solo play. I’m of the mindset that a strong mentality + aggressive right hand pushes can allow most intermediately skilled solos to become absolute chads and start slaying teams. It’s really just a mindset and mechanics aren’t that important.

Also. You have to think about really good squads when you do anything that buffs team play. There are people that take every single raid and treat it like a ranked game of CS:GO or siege and they definitely don’t need any more help.

I think teammates being able to heal each other faster than themselves is fine, but if you do that while also nerfing the time to heal yourself it’s just way overboard. TLDR: giving more options = good. Less options = bad. As long as none of the options given are inherently broken or better than the other. ATM imo the only thing that needs serious attention are the ETG and SJ6 stims. SJ6 less so, but getting in a gun fight, and then popping an ETG just so you can run right back in like a fucking tank is just dirty.
