I wouldn't go so far as to say Tarkov is the next star citizen, the Shore expansion was due to it being half-released in its' initial state and the Factory expansion was due to the limitations of the map itself. The weapons, tasks and refining of the games core loop is Tarkovs content, SCs problem is a dangerous amount of feature creep combined with a lack of direction, not to say BSG and Tark don't have their own problem though.

All that aside I'd call ground branch more of a Tarkov-like, games like Zero Hour and Ready or Not follow more along as spiritual successors to SWAT or old R6

Some cheats also don't even run on the same PC, they run radars on separate computers and just intercept traffiv

The average user doesn't see what BSG is doing to stop these people or the damage they do because they're not supposed to, because you don't see something happening it doesn't mean that it isn't. there is a way to detect and remove the cheats server side (requires a bit of work i'd gladly do but i need some data to work with). client side there could also be techniques to identify the cheaters. (and yes, i've been a professional dev for 35+ yrs)
