my top 4 are, dont engage in fights unless you have the gear for it, or you can get a snipe headshot, learn the secret stash maps and find a route you like, gear is everything, any1 who tells you different is full of shit, learn the maps, use offline mode until you feel comfortable knowing where you need to go

the vast majority of fights i lost, was due to being at a severe gear disadvantage not because i got outplayed. the weapon you use and the ammo matters a tremendous amount

Be ballsy, through my experience you might do what I did. I went into offline mode with scavs and tested some dpi settings for my mouse (1200/1000 with 0.2 in game worked well for me) to get your aim game even higher. But don't be afraid to use guns. If it's expensive, sell it, if it's mediocre or lower has an even lower value then use it. My best tip is find a gun you like, make sure you use good ammo since ammo is what does damage, not the weapon itself and just go out, learn. If you think about it, what you want is 100% guarantee that you bring back your precious gun and all players loose their guns at some point. Just go in and have fun, if you want survival tips you can always ask. Tarkov can be scary for alot of people at the start but you get used to it

Why does it seem like as newish player whenever I do a scav run I’m so under-kitted but when I do a pmc run and come across a scav they seem to be more kitted. For example I’ll come across scavs with some strong ass body armor and helmets but when I do a scav run I usually get spawned in high traffic areas with a mini bolt action rifle and have to run past 3 pmcs kitted to the brim bc they spawned me in such a high traffic area

At 30 meters away I aimed for legs with my smg and let rip. As the shot went off the pmc did a 180 one tap right between the eyes. My poor scav was in a bush hiding. It was faster than an instant 180. So due to experience the pmc must either have been using max mouse sensitivity or i had a run in with my first. I dont get worked up about these things, but would love to see medeval torture be brought back for cheaters.
