except maybe a small exception, the train can bring with it a spawn of a raider squad

I got a strats question, image incoming, but how do you counter the bushman? Previous round I was camping out in lighthouse on shoreline taking shots to get SBIH on the road/gast station. I manage to get 2 and decide to extract. I walk on the beach, eyes forward and ensuring no LoS to the hills. I cross over and go up into the hills, moving between bushes and trees to block LoS towards power station. I am walking, not sprinting. I have ears, and haven't heard any movement besides my own. Someone opens up on me with 995, from... somewhere close? Dead basically instantly. Not sure what I could have done better and would like to know how others outplay or deal with traveling through bushy/tree areas. When people take shots at me from afar I am good about finding cover or obsfucating LoS, but I die a lot of people close by who are apparently chilling in bushes.

Sorry for the slow reply. Some shotgun ammo types, for variety. And the VPO is a very good, low level sniper to use. Combine it with Eko rounds from Jaeger and you can get a decent scope and the mount for it from Prapor.

mosin isnt really a great choice unless you are looking to become proficient in the mosin specifically. this is due for a couple reasons i could elaborate on. but a m4a1 with as many mags full of m855 as you can hold would be better

i usually recommend new players try to get 30 kills on impossible/horde with 50% or more headshot rating

as a basic skill mark

a mosin is not really very reflective of how most weapons handle in tarkov. its one of a few weapons that have unique properties i belive due to the low ergo mixed with long barrel

long story short, it sways a lot. a laser would fix that, cant mount one, sux

so you really want to try to practice things like hip fire with some sort of laser device due to the reduced spray/spread pattern it gives the weapon

because in the end game you will always want such a device for that purpose. but if you go without a laser you not only have to learn to aim but to combat the passive sway the game has

besides that, theres human psychology that basically means you are slowing your training significantly using a bolt action rifle vs a magazine fed rifle to train something like muscle memory

significantly slower

also the point of the laser is not to use it as a aiming guide you would ideally use it in the beginning then later move to no laser or one of the IR ones that dont project a beam

its just to tighten the spray pattern

as online has a difficulty id say around medium. i think they have a little bit of variance in the difficulty based on spawn time

but try to set your eventual benchmark on impossible difficulty/horde with 50% headshots. impossible difficulty is a challenge but not for the skilled. giving you something to either be aware of or work towards

50% headshot rating is actually the minimum. if your aim is trained to hit stomach/chest you will lose id say 60% of fights nearly instantly

seeing those lower shots is a big sign you need better crosshair placement and overall aim drills

what i did to improve the same thing

was id start off my warmup with the impossible horde thing getting 30 with 50% but id only use single fire w/ laser or no laser headshots only
