headphones decrease the sound of certain things like nearby explosions and environment noises, but make other noises like footsteps louder to you

@robust birch Hey I'm fairly new but I can deff help with the feeling of being lost in customs. When you spawn in customs you will spawn in either east or west and your extract will be opposite of where you spawned. I.E you spawned east, your extract will be west and vice versa.

@robust birch If you start having inventory issues I recommend you sell items (flea market or vendors) until you can get a scav junkbox. Having a full inventory can be one of the things that will turn you off the game. I know it was (is) for me.

I have my own issues with the 3d audio space management of the game, but somehow do very well in understanding the majority of audio cues. Going from that I suggested what helped me best for hardware testing as well as in game experience gathering. If your issues persist might I suggest you try #community-support or the launchers built in report function to get in touch with BSG support channels.

Customs is the easiest/recommended beginner map to learn (beware a lot of experienced players go hunting there). Use Scav as you won't lose anything if you die, Scavs won't provide xp for your pmc nor does your quest count as a scav unless it's picking up stuff like weapons and such for quest
