For the moment labs is free you can give it a try with naked runs or inexpensive gear you should get 400k pretty fast

I always bring 3 extra mags and a stack of ammo

The few times I’ve ran out of ammo are like one in a million raids or raids where I’m running something funky like vector

I only bring a pistol if my main gun is something like a bolt action sniper. Normally i run 3-4 mags and 1 stack of ammo spare. If you have something like a p90 where mag stacking is awefully long i sometimes dont bring spare ammo and rather have 2 more mags.

If good ammo is a Problem (early wipe or special ammo) i try to bring Scav Mags and colorcode them with the "tag" option

But always keep in mind the bullet you are using next is not on top of the mag its the one in the chamber so you always have one "old" bullet after a magchange

2 spares and a stack of ammo is honestly all you need, if you take really good ammo you risk more by bringing more so its best to learn to balance bringing as little as possible

Like my ammo usually runs 1.5-2k a round so i take as little as i can to be able to win a fight or two and dump scavs if needed, after a fight or two im usually more fucked medically than i am ammo wise

Typicaly I tend to bring two stacks of good ammo and one stack of mid. Eg 2x M80, 1x BCP FMJ

It's a solid workhorse of a gun and you can find tons of good ammo for it in raid. I would get a fresh gun from traders tough, below 92 durability you can get jams which will mess up your day.
Try to get PS ammo and better in it tough, soft points don't go trough armour at all. It's good for shooting legs tough.

Load your magazines and rifle, ditch the flare, knife, sunglasses and pistol. No need to bring that many meds, usualy 1/2 tourniquets, one bandage and one medkit tends to be enough for the average raid.
Keep a 1x2 slot open in your rig for mags otherwise you'll drop one when reloading.
Flashbangs aren't particulary great

If you're a PMC, shoot everything. If you're a scav, you can usually tell by the gear but it comes with experience. I value my scav rep more than the loot so I don't risk it on my scav unless I'm positive it's a PMC

Correct. You will lose scav rep for killing scavs as a scav, which means a longer cooldown on your scav and worse scav loadouts. As a PMC, you can only benefit by killing everything

If you're low level, you need literally everything, but prioritize quest items and important hideout stuff like your workbench

Completing your existing quests will unlock more quests.

Little late at this point in wipe, but just run your scav on cooldown and take co-op extracts. You also get rep for killing bad scavs AKA scavs that have shot another scav, or by killing PMCs as a scav.

You also unlock quests from the trader Fence at a certain point, and those are quests for your scav, and give scav rep

eh, I just use (nvidia) Shadowplay, because it's what came with my GPU, it doesn't come with a bloated sharing website and doesn't add any watermarks to the videos. You just hit the keybind and the capturing buffer gets spat out into a video (where you can even decide, if you want your mic in the main audio track, or in a separate one).
Personally I'm running it in a lower than native quality, but that's purely because of the resulting filesizes

pve can be good for learning the maps and how to do a lot of the quests for sure, just when going back into PVP you wont have any experience of what other real players are doing in the raid and where PVP hotspots are if that makes sense
