I personally would swap out the analgin for propital, even better if you had an injectors case in your pouch, but im gonna assume you're lower level and might not have access to that.

I would recommend hot keying out of necessity -- I like calok on 4, salewa on 5. Imo I don't hotkey PKs but thats preference.

If you could snag condors for your face theres a small chance they save you too

I would NOT put in a dog tags case. You will need found in raid dog tags for stuff -- having it in your pouch will take the FIR status off.

PK's aren't bad, if you put the Gstar in take your anagin off. I like to leave room for loot. Remember that CMS and Alus arent that expensive -- if you find expensive items, take those out and put the expensive items in your pouch

i know it's odd, but i think tarkov causes it. it doesnt happen in any other game. it doesn't happen when im watching TV (wifi). Only when im sitting in tarkov menus (character, trader, flea, etc). Hey, so I'm really struggling finding out where the hell im getting shot from
Often directional audio doesn't do much, 90% of my lost fights are because I can't figure out where they are, I'm a pretty aggressive player and confident in my aim.
Its not a big deal in enclosed spaces, but anywhere out in the open, like between trees and around bushes im just a lost idiot
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

personally I vastly prefer bi audio for directi9onal identification . In my opinion, the liberator is one of the worst to hear out of in the game besides m32 or gssh.

But that is personal preference technically

it's not the worst. The other thing with headsets is that they are all up to your hearing preference. There is no absolute better or worse option. Try them out and see what sounds berst to you, then use them exclusively as much as you can

For sure. Plus, playing ratty and slow will make it to where when you need to move you'll mess up and die. Better to be good at moving and need to rat than be good at ratting and need to move

As a movement player, it is funny to me when I shoot a rat and instead of returning fire, their immediate response is to try to run away, even if it's towards an open field. Playing as a rat, at least for most people, is not only not fun, but counter productive. If you're ratting every kill, but your goal is Kappa, you'll be on the Kappa grind til next wipe.

It largely ends up being map knowledge. There are some spots on some maps (for example woods) where this doesn't apply, but on Customs, Streets, GZ, most of Shoreline, Interchange, Lighthouse (on the East Side), (Factory doesn't matter you can always hear where you're being shot from unless there's a bugged area), you can typically figure out where the shots are coming from by knowing what you're exposed to, and then narrowing it down by where someone is simply likely to be sitting.

Other ways would be listening for the bullet impacts. Unless they're above you or an insane distance from you, the bullet impacts will be in the opposite direction of them (barring them hitting obstacles such as trees between you). However, impacts make visible marks so you can look for those and figure it out pretty quick.

Tracers are something to look out for. It's a bullet, so it's fast, but it'll paint a perfect line towards your enemy if they're using a round such as M62 or M856A1

Ill give a couple examples now that you are here 🤝
Woods - Kill 1 guy, teammate throws a nade, i back off and take cover behind a rock, im looking in the general direction of where it was throw from, - i get 1 tapped.

Reserve - running near white knight (?) , someone is shooting at me from the open field with a bunker to my right, misses me entirely and i make it to cover. I can't find him after and sitting in the 2 openings is bad idea and we never meet again.

In general keeping track of where they are is a bit more of a struggle than id like it to be. Maybe i have some graphics settings cocked up but i'm not sure.
Maybe its a just a case of getting more hours in

I love fighting, i'm pretty aggressive in how i play, so losing track of ppl and getting domed because i cant find them like some lost goober is rough

For example 1, tough to say without a clip. Woods is an extraordinarily difficult map to tell typically even having all the information a clip would provide. Also, just because a grenade explodes doesn't mean that's where it was thrown from. I can throw a grenade with elite strength over 140 meters.

Reserve, they probably just rotated. Like yeah, you'll be able to figure out where they are roughly but pinpointing them requires knowledge of knowing places they're likely to be paired with eyes that are used to picking out very small details that are different, or the slight movement of someone leaning a little.

My graphics settings are about as low as they could possibly be. I play on a 1070ti, My monitor is 4k, I play on 2k, and almost all settings are low except clouds. Even LOD distance is as low as possible.

If you know their general direction, you're halfway there. Just scan and be careful. Don't expose yourself for too long and keep moving.

I have a 3070 so my settings a pretty decent, i guess its mostly just a matter of putting in more hours. It wont be a problem though, tarkov good 👍
I just wish the fps wouldn't tank because I aimed a vudu scope, which is why im mostly sticking to holos and closer ranges

put your LOD at a minimum for that. PMC's will always render in no matter the distance, LOD at a higher value will eat resources especially when you have to tank the double rendering of aiming (I can run a var zoom (I choose the Tango, but it's the same load as a vudu performance-wise) on every map but Streets)

One last piece of advice, you don't have to commit to every engagement. I typically teach newer players to back off if you don't have advantage. Either you find an advantage or you let the fight go. As you progress, yeah, send it, die a few times, have fun, but while you're learning how to fight and make money, you can chill. However, that doesn't mean don't move. It means if you think you're in a bad spot, get out. Pop a painkiller and bounce in the safest way you can. Make them chase you.

Just because you see players like me rushing every gunshot no matter how awful a situation it is to push doesn't mean you have to play like that. I do that because I'm bored and I'm confident in my aim and movement to carry me through my poor positioning, and if I die I'll laugh it off, say gg, and throw on another kit. If I kill them, I get a great clip, and I have fun regardless of whether I'm living or dying. But, I understand how dying is very unfun when you don't have a bottomless junkbox of bitcoins and find making money easy (as I was there at one point myself)
